Just best advice, don’t eat grapefruit if you are using any type of medication. More so, just stay away from citrus fruits that are very acidic. There’s two categories of fruit: sweet and acidic. You don’t want to eat acidic fruits in the same time period that you are eating acidic fruits. It’s preferably safe to eat sweet fruits while you are taking medications since, like in the video, grapefruit(an acidic fruit) can prevent some molecules/etc in the stomach from breaking down the contents in the medication that you consumed which can/might cause your body to reach the ‘lethal’ dose
Amusingly I have the opposite problem as I am on Ritalin and I can't take my drug with grapefruit, because it will prevent absorption and the citric acid will destroy the drug before it can get into my system.
Grapefruit actually INCREASES the amount of codeine that is metabolized into morphine as it inhibits the enzyme that affects the 90% that ISN'T converted into morphine and allows MORE of the codeine to be metabolized (as much as 30%), so if you took a 30mg codeine with grapefruit, you would get 6-9mg of morphine from it instead of 3mg.
But if when it comes on supplements or vitamins is it ok to take it when i also eating grapefruit i eat grapefruit every morning and taking vitamins at night
