    This Mission is a complete 180 in tone from Vendetta. You are no longer hiding and sneaking. You are now pursuing and burning the Germans that once had you outnumbered. It's now on their land, and now, their blood is being spilled.

    the heavy metal and industrial sound of WaW OST is so good, usually WW2 games have heroic sounding symphonies but not this one, WaW is one of the best WW2 shooters.

      @xd3athclawx554 2 роки тому +57

      yeah the metal is really gritty and more fearsome compared to the heroic symphony music in the newer ww2 games, the metal music definitely portrayed the feeling playing the game better than other music woul imo.

    • @Howlingburd19

      @@xd3athclawx554 the new WW2 games in general don’t have the balls to be gritty like this game, which perfectly captures the dark, violent, and rather disturbing tone of WW2 (the part I always thought was the most unsettling were the dead soldiers at the fountain, and the crows picking at them O_o).
      Literally today game developers are soft to the point where they won’t put in Swastika symbols…
      And this game and its music (fr I love WAW’s soundtrack, my favorite in COD for sure) is still amazing in 2024 :)

    The Battle of the Seelow Heights (German: Schlacht um die Seelower Höhen) was part of the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation (16 April - 2 May 1945). A pitched battle, it was one of the last assaults on large entrenched defensive positions of the Second World War. It was fought over three days, from 16-19 April 1945. Close to 1,000,000 Soviet soldiers of the 1st Belorussian Front (including 78,556 soldiers of the Communist Polish 1st Army), commanded by Marshal Georgy Zhukov, attacked the position known as the "Gates of Berlin". They were opposed by about 110,000 soldiers of the German 9th Army,[4] commanded by General Theodor Busse, as part of the Army Group Vistula.
    This battle is often incorporated into the Battle of the Oder-Neisse. The Seelow Heights was where some of the most bitter fighting in the overall battle took place, but it was only one of several crossing points along the Oder and Neisse rivers where the Soviets attacked. The Battle of the Oder-Neisse was itself only the opening phase of the Battle of Berlin.

    I love that despite the fact you're on the winning side, the soundtrack still sounds ominous, when you're about to think that the OST is going to sound triumphant because you're winning, out of nowhere these 'disturbing' (should I call it) horns at minutes 1:40 and 3:57 play along with the creepy choir, conveying that feeling of winning the war but not really winning... I can't explain it.
    Also 12:45, 13:00, 13:20... no words. Cod WaW actually made me feel something that no other WW2 game will ever.
    I miss when they actually cared about the soundtrack...

Either you kill mercilessly for revenge, or take a moral high ground just to feel above it all, it matters not because the Red Army were no different in terms of brutality towards Germany. You are but one soldier after all as Dimitri. Anything goes in war.

      hurr durr soviets bad
      Goebbels would be proud of you buddy! Do you even know why WW2 in Europe started? Because the nazis and their fucked up ideology wanted to completely erase entire ethnic groups from the face of the earth. If anything the soviets didn't give the nazis the taste of their own medicine.
      Honestly, Chernov is such a little bitch. It wasn't some another american pussy-war where everything is like a picnic with the boys and rosy and the death of 1 soldier is percieved as a war-losing event, the eastern front of ww2 was ALL ABOUT genocide and ethnic replacement (Generalplan Ost), planned starvation (Hungerplan), and simply killing as many slavs and jews (men, women and children as REZNOV HIMSELF SAID) as quickly as possible because the krauts couldn't accept the fact that they were defeated in ww1 because their army got beaten, not some imagined "stab in the back" by the "jews" and whatnot. There LITERALLY wasn't a single family in the Soviet Union that didn't lose anyone in the war. It's like Chernov was in a fucking echo chamber or something for the past 3 years or so. Like you tbh.
