    Great vid - informative... thank you! Just booked for Feb half term next year 25!! Mike, is it fairly easy to navigate over to Soldeu & El TarTar on a day adventure etc?

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  3 місяці тому +1

      thanks! Extremely easy to navigate to Soldeu from El Tar Tar, in fact I have a video I am editing at the moment that will show you how close these two areas are (stay tuned for that). Pas is a bit more of a trek, but again you'll see that in my next video. Hope you have a great time and looking at your profile image, congrats on a great season! :)

    Enjoyed the review. Been three times and planning for next year. Love the variation, staying in Andorra town, Soldeu or Canilo. All accessible via bus and easy access up to the snow from lower villages. Good prices and something for everyone. However, if you want really heavy apreski then stick to the Alps.

    Cool video. Going here in January. With the reputation that resort has as a party location how did you find it as a family? We’re you able to avoid the heavy party scene? Were the streets noisy at night. We’re you able to find nice chill places to have a drink?

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  9 місяців тому

      Thanks Paul. We found it great as a family, the kids especially liked all the recognisable fast food spots. Easy to avoid the party scene & there are plenty of restaurants and pubs so I am sure you'll find something suitable. Didn't find the streets noisy at all whilst we were there, but it was pretty cold at night. Hope you have a great time in January! (I am sure you will)

    Thankyou for this amazing video! I will be going to Pas De La Casa for christmas this year and cannot wait :D Just a question, how did you find flying your drone? did you have to register anything before your arrival? I will be flying so need to try and figure out how I can get it on a plane

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  9 місяців тому

      No issues with drone. Obviously be respectful of all local drone laws anywhere you travel. If you have a mavic series DJI or similar size you should be fine travelling through airport security with it. Check you batteries are secure and well protected in your carry on, don’t put in the hold. I’m sure you’ll have a great time ☺️👍🏻

    If Carlsberg did family ski holiday videos… actually Flaine wasn’t too busy Feb half-term as every lift open! Accommodation very expensive mind. Also going to new places next year…

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  Рік тому

      That’s actually great to hear. We are looking at Flaine for HT next year as the accommodation is so good (and we really missed it), might be worth the extra cash. Really appreciate the feedback 👍🏻

    Can I ask why you drove instead of flying into Barcelona or Toulouse? We are going Feb half term staying in the same place as you did in 2023, so really factual review thanks. Just need to make our mind up weather we fly or drive 😬

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  10 місяців тому

      Short answer is money. Flights with all the extra baggage with our own gear became extremely pricey. We’ve booked again staying in El Tartar for this coming feb half term and have been able to book a cabin to get some sleep on the overnight Friday night ferry from Portsmouth. It’s a long drive, but the actual travel time (check in/ waiting around/airport transfer time) it isn’t too much more. Also baggage restrictions are based on the size of your car. Some friends of ours fly into Barcelona and have had a good experience with that too. I would say if you have your own gear, driving is a better option, but that is just my own personal preference. Hope that helps 👍🏻

    Hi there, I know this is an old video so you might not see this, but I was wondering how accessible the area is generally when staying in pas de la casa? Would I be stranded without being able to drive? Can you navigate the all the slopes by lifts and slopes?

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  5 місяців тому

      Hi! Pas is the furthest point of the region, but you can Ski all the way through to Canillo via the lifts/slopes of the snow is good enough for connecting runs, which even at the worst of times snow wise usually is. I’m just about to edit our trip this year where we stayed in El Tarter, so you’ll see that soon too.
      Pas has some excellent restaurants and nightlife, so if you are staying there you should have plenty of options. Hope that helps

      @@MikeSmale oh wow you went back to Andorra, Which of the two places would you recommend for a solo traveller?

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  5 місяців тому

      @@dgfrd1573 honestly for me, I liked Pas the best. However I think Soldeu and El Tarter are more family friendly. Pas can also be a bit trickier to navigate if you’re not a confident skier/boarder. I like all the regions, but if I had to pick one.. it would be Pas. My family all preferred El Tarter though 🤷🏻‍♂️, so it’s all great 😊

    • @MikeSmale
      @MikeSmale  10 місяців тому +1

      Great question. I'd say pretty decent from what I saw, you might be able to catch some glimpses of this slope side at @8:01 purple coloured bar was packed out every night, quite a few others in the town centre too. It's not quite the level of the alps, but still lively enough for a boys trip. Few places to get a kebab too! hope that helps..
