The absolute cheapest ski holiday I've ever seen is to drive to a mountain, skin up the ski-out, ride the chairs that don't check tickets, eat food you brought yourself, and sleep in the car in the parking lot. You have to put some work in but it's cheap!
But only the beginner hill chairs dont check tickets right?
IDK about Poland, but every resort I've been to in the Alps has ticket scanners at every lift. Would work pretty much everywhere else in the world though.
@@SkillzorZ021 only some beginner areas do not scan
They never check tickets Here in the US. Usually to busy for them
@@Nightmans yeah I've only ridden in Canada in North America, they only checked tickets at the bottom stations there. Same in nz, Australia, and Japan. I've not been to a resort anywhere in the alps that didn't have rfid scanners at the bottom - sometimes even the top - of every chair
I'm Polish and what is really interesting that majority of Polish people always say that skiing in Poland is very expensive and is way more affordable to go to Italy 😂
I'm Italian and I went to the Madonna di Campiglio ski-area before Christmas, we were the only italians in the hotel 🤣
The polish (and Czech) invasion is real and, the best thing about it, it's that you don't even cramp up the slopes because by noon everyone is drinking in a rifugio. Big up the polish gang!
Italy is a bit more expensive but you get much more for your buck
Same in Slovakia brother 👍
In Italia it rallye depends where u go
@@lorenzobalestri5596 Im going to madonna di campiglio as a pole
You’re spot on about beginners shouldn’t be skiing in big ski resort. Half the brits in Val D’isere had to take the gondola down because they couldn’t ski La Face de Bellevarde when I was there. Plenty of smaller resorts in France though.
one of the steepest blacks in alps - give them a break hahaha
@@marcofurio9380 I mean that’s the point of his comment.., why go to the steepest resort in Alps if you’re not a confident skier? That’s like running 100m with Usain Bolt having never run before
@@marcofurio9380 Of course mate, but as I said there are so many other options within a 30 minute range. Val D’isere isn’t for beginners. People do what they want though, not for me to decide
Just come back from my first ski trip in Val, they’ve just spent millions on crafting the new green beginners area to bring in the people you are trying to put off. The holiday was fantastic, the progression you can have starting on the greens on solaise and working your way to the blues and over the other side is great! I came down la fornet on my fourth day skiing. An excellent place for progression, and the food, entertainment and accommodation is fantastic.
People don’t need to ski a black to go to Val, that’s incredibly closed minded
@@willcook1071 Haven’t been there since 2019, so you’re probably right. Obviously it’s a great place considering food, entertainment and partying etc. I don’t necessarily have a problem with beginners skiing there. It’s just that from my point of view many of the skiers struggled with 80-90% of the terrain. You have very limited options as a beginner in Val D’isere (at least in 2019). First timers will have better experiences at smaller resorts imo. The big resorts often have expensive rates. Why’d you want to pay a lot if you’re limited to 10 slopes? Just my opinion.
Some big resorts are “easier” as well. Found that my beginner-mates struggled less in La Plagne (and the rest of paradiski) and some places in Chamonix than in Val D’isere. The part between Val D’isere and Tignes is easier as well.
If you’re limited to the easiest slopes (green and blue I think?) it’s probably not the best place for you. If you feel confident on red slopes you’ll be fine. I generally don’t pay attention to those signs though. Obviously you don’t have to ski blacks. Heck, some even go to Val D’isere for the 5* hotels and after ski. Ultimately I don’t really care what people spend their money on, I just think people should know how difficult Val D’isere can be.
Glad we are getting back to a bit of normality and people can travel again. Miss these videos, p.s I wouldn't bail on a holiday, just saying haha
In Germany it just gets worse and worse every day with the stupid restrictions
Brits skiing is not normal 😂
@@dieterfischer3432 yes I literally just came back and was soo annoying
@@uknownh_2156 they're just fucking us day by day. This government is the biggest piece of crap I've ever seen
@@MrWojtkowsky Brits skiing is entirely normal.
Skiing in poland can easily be much cheaper than that. Ben chose a busy place however there are much better places in Poland
polskaaaaa
which resorts would you recommend
@@MrTj145 i went to Jaworzyna krynicka and really enjoyed it. Theres also a big one on Kasprowy Wierch. Though i must say that Polish ski slopes cant be compared to the Alp ones in terms of size
No +1
can I know how much is it for each time Ski?
Thanks so much for this! I had no idea where to go with my 2 sons to try skiing, after getting into skiing about 6 weeks prior! This was perfect and we followed the route you did. Brilliant fun and will definitely be back in the late season! Thank you again for this video, it literally changed our (skiing) lives! 😊
You gotta go to Turkey for the cheapest ski holiday, I was there last week, ski pass was 10$ 😆 Try Kartalkaya mountain
Come to Erciyes, ski pass is really cheap, there are more than 40 courses and they are all connected.
Palandoken is best
Kartalkaya could be small also i can suggest you to try Uludağ/Bursa or Erciyes they are super cheap and really big mountains
There are German ski-areas I know of, giving away lift passes for free when you book accommodation. Obviously those are the ones with maybe 10 lifts maximum in the Sauerland, Schwarzwald (Black Forest) or right near the Austrian border where the Alps actually start to get height.
10$??? out in the US lift tickets are like 60$!
hey Ben, next time you don't have anyone to go somewhere with, you should take a subscriber with you (if that's something you would think of doing). Youre videos are always creative and interesting, keep it going, always a good watch
sick idea
Hahahaaa
You have some in Poland too 😅
Omg this is a great idea!!
Yes me 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Going on a trip with Ben would be the one. He really lives it.
Ben always making the best content and making everyone happy! Keep it up bro
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay in country where I live
Poland is a goated country
You really are excellent at editing mate. Keep it up. Those quick edits are hella time consuming to create. Respect.
Your videos are the only ones that can keep my attention, class content❤️
ben always be making the best content fr
For the record I would have happily joined Ben on this holiday 🥶
My historically polish family brought shares in this ski resort 30 years ago before it got famous... I now get free skiing here all season as well as free ski rentals... I am English and when I tell people about it they are either shocked or they tell me it must be shite because its not well known since the average person doesn't think of Poland when they think of skiing, but I absolutely love the culture and climate of the area and they are missing out...
This guys content is sooo fun to watch
Nice video Ben. Has definitely helped me consider alternative ski resorts. A summary at the end of the video with a cost breakdown would have been great
I'm Polish and I am happy you enjoyed it
The amount of work he puts into he’s content is unreal !
I love every video so much i could actually watch hours of them, such an underrated youtuber. I still cant believe that you don't have 1mil subs
Love that your back uploading regularly.
Romania is way cheaper too...
Several low cost flight providers, a 90 minute direct train from the airport to the ski resorts for 7 euros (or a train/bus from the city), full gear daily rental for 8 euros and a day ski pass for ~45-50 depending on the resort. There are 5 resorts within 1 hour drive (busses and trains are easy to handle) and great hotels and food at various price ranges but all good!
Which city?
Which city?
I saw a UA-camr taking random people on the street to one of the fanciest restaurants in the world. It would be so cool if you did something like that, taking a random person with you on a trip.
Ben Morris back making Banging videos!
Ben Morris - The King of B-Roll
Few points you could’ve mentioned about Tatry SuperSki Lift passes is that when you’re there for few days you can use the pass in other resorts too nearby plus a resort in Slovakia . Also buying lift passes you can buy online and pick up a card and then if you need to top up the pass you can do it online if you register online. Saves you standing in queues... more time to drink and shred the holy hell out of those slopes ;)
Some other points Be mindful to keep an eye on half terms as different voivodeships have different winter half term dates. Other than that pretty much nicely done short and sweet review
How on earth did you film that alone? Looked like a pretty epic trip. Taking inspiration by all of your videos at the moment!
I love watching Ben's videos. 🏂
Absolutely one of your best videos.
Ben makes mention that “you don’t want to go to an expensive resort if you can’t board”. And I would whole heartily agree. You spend your first three seasons Learning the basics so why not do it in the cheap
6:28 - the silent chair ride up lol
Glad to see you having fun on the trip.
February 2019 i drove out here from London with 2 friends. It is VERY cheap to ski in Poland, only problem is there wasn't much snow when we went and there wasn't a lot of vegetarian food. Would do it again tho
STRH Art Bistro Cafe is great for veggie and vegan options - I'm here now after watching that video.and was struggling with this same problem, lots of snow right now though!
Haha peoples faces on the Ski Lift looked like they were pissed drunk already 😂 Which sadly is common in Poland on the slopes at night! Btw, snowpark there opens end of Jan.
I did exactly that in exactly the same place 🤣
Great vlog as always Ben. Best wishes
Everytime I see a video where someone has to take a plane for going skiing it reminds me in what thankful position I am that I can just get on a train in the morning, ski a whole day, and return home the same day.
I love you cuts they are really nice and have their own style
Love the videos man!!
can't wait to go skiing this makes so hype to go
Looks cool!! Definitely in need of another snowboarding holiday. If you haven’t already been borovets Bulgaria is great for beginners. Night life was great and mega cheap.
You’re right on the mars bars. Been skiing since age of 3 and we rarely ever stopped for lunch whilst skiing, cba with those prices. First lift up, last lift up. Bottle of water and a few mars bars or snickers is all you need, eat them in ques or lifts. Only exception is the occasional beer
There's a polish invasion going on in the italian alps, they're everywhere! The best thing about them is that, by 11 or so, everyone is drinking their face off, so the slopes are kinda empty even if the lifts aren't 😂
Same in France. They really seem to like Les 2 Alpes
Props to the boarders!!
Love your videos 🇺🇸
How I love Ben Morris 😍
06:30 I love how snowboarder act around two skiers
nice transition about the nightmares!!
Your videos make me happy
Omg he likes it siuuu
Great to see you in Poland 💪
Allone Holiday are fun!
great video ben!!
Underrated tuber!!
Lol. A jagerbomb at lunch is hilarious.
Come to Turkey, Sarikamis-Kars to be exact to enjoy beautiful snow with cheaper prices.
Great video man!
Thanks for the video your the best
Finally my favourite UA-camr goes to my home country !
confidence drink worked a treat haha love it
Really nice video man!
I've seen hundreds of travel videos on UA-cam - and you're only the second presenter to indicate that they read on flights!
Poland for skiing? I'd try it.
Good video.
We have a local mountain in Utah called Nordic Valley that have tickets as low as $15! it’s just the smallest in the area but still a decent sized mountain for the price
As a polish person I love how you turned Białka Tatrzańska into Bialka T.
Dis guy is so underated it’s actually incredible
Just regarding the last sequence: i've been skiing until i was 13, afterwards started snowboarding and was only snowboarding for 10years, a few years ago started doing some skiing again(mainly touring). Some years i had like 30days per season on the board. Still, i feel that even 2 beers impact my ability to snowboard more negative, than it does my skiing. Probably because you only have one edge that must be placed exactly at the right spot, unlike skiing where you can correct easier.
Ahah, I always have a beer or two out on the slopes, major confidence boost for me. No issues on the board 👌
I can do both as well but boarding is much more fun to me due to the creativity
True, you def. need more balance when snowboarding, and balance is affected heavily by alcohol I think
Personally I think it's really dangerous to drink before skiing or snowboarding. You can hit 50kmh easily, up to 80 if you have a long board/skis. My dad almost got paralysed once by a drunk skier who drove into him from the back. You're endangering yourself, that's fine, your deal, whatever, but you're endangering others even more. I don't agree with ski drinking culture.
@@elisabethkonig4267 oh my, sorry to hear, new fear unlocked! A lot of people unaware of their surroundings almost crashed into me, it sucks you can't enjoy these sports fully because of those idiots.
Happy new year Ben happy 2022
Happy new year to you too!!
Next time come visit Bulgaria (Borovets Ski), is about 35 euros a day, but the resort is pretty big with high mountains.
Love your video bro you legend ❤️
that 360 cam is a game changer
literally watching this on my skiing trip
Just keep posting this bangers.
Been to bialka multiple times, if it's not crowded it is great, specially if you're lucky with the snow.
But you missed the absolute best part of bialka, which is the big termas with outside pool right in the side of the slopes
Cheapest is always going to depend on where you are. For me it’s the $4 metro ticket up to the local mountain, which is probably as cheap as it’ll realistically get but won’t help much for someone living in another country.
Yessir and he’s back
Back for good!! I have 3 videos filmed which need to be edited 🚂
I thought I saw you in Krakow airport! Was gonna say hi but wasn't sure it was you, we were on the same flight!
That must have been me 😁
Bialka is an amazing place to ski/snowboard. Bania resort is insane for the prize.
This is the second time to watch ur video today. INSANE!!!
Great video! That chairlift was so beautifully awkward!
thanks for returning to poland!
i love ur vids man
My list of places to visit is getting very long thanks to your videos haha
Sick vid bro!
so lucky u were able to ski this year
Reminds me of the ski resorts on the East coast USA. You might find a “mountain” like that in Massachusetts or Pennsylvania
You should visit Gudauri or Svaneti ski resort in Georgia next time. they're amazing
" $20 is a lot to go night skiing" "clearly has never been to Colorado to ski"
Yes because those who live in Europe would travel to America to ski…
You have clearly never been to swis alps lol
@@gameknight2016I mean yeah… I was making fun of how insanely expensive it is to ski in the states.
I used to go to that slope every year its a great resort
this is a sick video
Dude Doritos on my sammies every time and dude just subbed great content
my fav vids
Called the resort by only the title. I love Bialka.
Białka isn't cheap by any means, and most of the bigger resorts in Poland are this way. I mean the cheap flight and maybe accomodation could make it more affordable but from the perspective of someone living in Poland, the only difference between a week in the Alps and anywhere domestically is the travel costs.
I knew it was gonna be Poland 🔥🔥
what a brilliant video
Appreciate that!! New one next week 💪🏼
Hahaha great video - somehow I knew you were going to Poland 😅😂 but honestly we rather go to Austria because you get better "bang-for-the-buck"
‘This is what I mean, I should’ve had that much earlier’ *proceeds to fall over immediately* 😂😂😂
100% Bansko is a cheaper option with better options for skiing and amazing value for money food & drink
Another banger incoming
Lots more on the way!
Hi Ben, i really like your content. Planning to go there someday, can you provide me a few more information such as:
1. Where did you rent the snowboard
2. Link to rent a car
3. The link for the accommodation
Cheers from Leeds ✌🏻
because of this, im currently looking into going here next month if at all possible. It's been years since ive boarded, but trying to price it up and see if I can get some friends on board
