I struggled for a year or two because I didn’t speak the language or know anything about the culture to blend in, but once I picked it up then it was habit. Even at home where we spoke Japanese, Korean, and Cantonese it was habit to speak in French no matter who it was.
I'm Japanese NCTzen and in my opinion, 2:54 “Abura wa iranneyana…?” this is absolutely Osaka dialect. Shotaro is from Kanagawa which is far from Osaka, so he can't speak it but probably Yuta's habit had worn on Shotaro. That's too cute.
