Richard scored his 46th H/H match today. I'm looking at a panel with Orson Bean, Betty White, and CNR (with their terrific track records), but so far this week only Richard has been chosen! Today it worked out well for the contestant though! Here's the updated leader board for the 8 celebs to have scored 3 or more H/H matches so far, ranked by their current accuracy scores: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Betty - 52.2% (12 wins in 23 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Charles - 43.8% (14 wins in 32 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 32.9% (46 wins in 140 attempts). Brett - 26.1% (6 wins in 23 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 307, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
With that, my spreadsheet says the difference between the celebrities is purely random chance, not mostly random chance. I'm sure there will be some swinging back and forth on this front, but the standard deviation of the standard deviations of the distance from average of each celebrity averages right around 1.00.
I'm pleasantly surprised, Brett does a great Penney Marshall impersonation. I'm not sure how old the saying is, but I've heard not getting older but better for decades now. Oh man, two surprises in this episode, Richard actually said Bretts getting better, excellent
Oh, did saint Richard actually do something GOOD? As disgusting as he was on the last episode, some people in the comment section said that as of "today" they hated him (and it's no WONDER. What he said should never have aired)
I think this was the first time that a Brett-themed question didn't turn into a total roast. Aside from Orson, everyone (contestant included) gave a fairly nice answer. Even Richard was uncharacteristically sweet to Brett. I wonder what's up with that? I love Brett dearly, but it's always funny to see everyone take their shots at her and to watch her laugh her head off.
Edward Albert was Eddie Albert's actor son. He became somewhat famous in the early '70s for movies such as Butterflies Are Free (with Goldie Hawn) and Forty Carats (with Liv Ullmann and Gene Kelly). He was dark-haired and very handsome--he kind of looked like Timothy Dalton. He passed away some years ago :(
Yes Betty, like ANYONE'S gonna give the answer "Blanker" I LOVE Betty, but that wasn't fair. She went for laughs instead of a win :( And I LOVED her spelling of "Malebox" and they make fun of Fannie's spelling (although I really don't think Betty would)
