Reading & Northern Steam Locomotive 425 pulling final Fall Foliage Excursion?

With 2102 nearing completion, especially after a successful fire-up, and a 1472 fast-approaching, 425 may have pulled it's last fall foliage trips this year. There is some talk of perhaps a double-header fall foliage next year, but so far it is just talk. There's not much better than high-speed steam passenger service on the RBMN, and this past weekend was a great example of that. 425 wore 3 whistles over the course of the weekend, a B&O 3 chime, a N&W hooter, and a PRR 3 chime. I was a little upset on the final excursion. I tried so hard to get the train returning in Leesport but I just missed it. Right as I got to the crossing, the lights were just turning off on the crossing. and that's my favorite whistle on her and I haven't heard it in person in years. I figured she would just wear a banshee that night returning so I gave up and went home. Not only that, one of my best friends was on the train. I hope I hear that whistle again in person.

Maybe a second time doubleheader steam excursion with 425 and 2102 since 1987 on their days on the BM&R!

Yeah I think its fair to say this might be the second to last year 425 pulls these trains before she's due for her next rebuild.

@Daniel Smutek Well who knows how long her next rebuild will take, may take 1 year, 2 years, who knows. Best to wait and see since sometimes the more you take apart an engine more problems are to be found.
