That Manwell diss had me rolling. Great job man.
One of the best battle sets! This kid killed it
He killed Ease with that "Aint No Fun" juggle.
He kept it old school .respect. I'm sure he will claim victory soon its all about the music you choose and he chose wisely.
Kool DJ Red Alert hit the nail on the head-- that's exactly what I thought when I saw him do a similar set at the NYC Regional 2014. This dude is going to be UNBELIEVABLE when he's 18-20. He's already a favorite... But damn. Give him a few years. And he already obviously has great hip-hop roots, which he works together with stuff like Jimi Hendrix with skill far beyond his years. I can't wait to see the next few DMCs-- I'm sure he'll be a major contender.
Matthew Fodell I'm tryna retire after this year or next but thank you for the kind words :D
Edit: Retire from battling, not music
WHAT?! Why would you retire, dawg! You have excellent sensibilities (your selections are amazing for someone who wasn't even alive when half of them were recorded), your skills are already remarkable at fucking 14... Why would you retire? I hope you'll at least keep making music and touring, and just retire from competition, if you do, because you're a hell of an artist, and you're barely starting your musical career. Keep it up, man!
Btw, who are your favorite DJs (DMC or otherwise)? I'd say I'm really digging DJ 2Tall (though I can't find his Cuts of Culture compilation anymore, and it ruled), Ambideckstriks, DJ Vekked, some of DJ Fly's stuff, of course older-school people like Q-Bert, Mix Masta Mike, and Roc Raida... I-Dee's winning set was damn good, but I like your hip-hop style (I do like some EDM though).
DWELLS Was your use of "Roll Bounce" inspired by DJ Slice using it against Don Santos in 2011?
NOCDIB No, it was inspired by a section in the OG Zoo York mixtape
Mad disses. straight classic. love in it.
Easily 1st place!! Dwells killed em!
Heeell yeah for Dwells!!
likewise..Watch your backs because this young man is on your heels, and in fact, looks like he won 2nd place..
so good. respect. should of won by a mile
Yo the I-dee dis and Esquire dis made this routine. Hahaa
is there a list of tracks at all that he used?
Should've got first place that was sick
DWELLS
fuuuhhhhhhh
