    That Dwells-diss alone was a winning move.
    Funky, something new, keeping it cool.
    Personally, I don't miss super-fabricated, noisy, electro-based DMC-routines. They've run their course in the past 10-12 years.

    This was a unique and different set. That's why it won.
    They gotta send the one that has the most opportunity of winning at World's and this set was the judges choice.
    That "no record routine" was definitely ill...I didn't expect to see that.
    Being different will always stand out
    I saw the second place video.He got skills,though he coasted through like 1/3(2 minutes..maybe more)of his set.
    Precision did more work.
    I enjoyed this set.

    i love a lot of precisions work but this isnt the one. everyone has good and bad moments and i have a lot f repsect for this guy but i am completely amazed how he got a win with this.

    This is a late 90's/early 00's set with a touch of Scratch Perverts type stuff at the end. This isn't a knock at all, but I'm surprised that this was the winning set. I guess things are going back to hip-hop instead of the EDM type sets I've seen in the past. That's cool.

    • @noisicerp
      @noisicerp 8 років тому +8

      I myself didn't think it should've won, but after watching these other competitors videos NOONE else was bringing anything new to the table this year either. I think a turntablism reset button has been pressed or something, cause all I'm seeing is the same old school tricks being done these days without ANY innovation. ( can we retire the Triumph and blind alley patterns already people?!) Apreciate the criticism nonetheless!

    • @DITKoreates
      @DITKoreates 8 років тому +3

      No disrespect on your win, though, I just thought the winning routine would've sounded like a big EDM song production live (no shade thrown, I still highly respect past champions). DMC seems to be coming full circle and going back to a hip-hop centric 6 minute routine and everyone is kind of moving the EDM/party rocking elements to the 3style battle instead. Like you said, though,. there isn't much innovation in the hip-hop routines these days. I think DJs are still trying to figure out how to bring that sound back but make it seem like it belongs in the 10's somehow, kind of like how Jay-Z and RIck Rubin did "99 Problems" with an 80's hard rock vibe but still made it seem current.

    • @noisicerp
      @noisicerp 8 років тому +6

      NO disrespect taken! I know I'm better than this, just didn't take it as serious as i know i should've. Go check my 2012 dmc world set. Much better definition of what i bring to the table!

    don't count the overtime but let him play his set to the end... red alert wanna be cool hip hop granny....bad hosting

    • @christiez1228
      @christiez1228 8 років тому +3

      So starting time of his set was at 1:09 to about 7:19 - a 10 sec - at the worst extension - that could have easily happened due to whoever was timing hitting their start button late, or as what has happened to me, accidentally stopping the time from a wrong move on the phone, or the timer getting Red's attention to say time late. If I mess up on time, i give the DJ the benefit of the doubt on the time. Most DJs have their sets perfectly timed. Sometimes a host yells time too early - things happen at DJ battles - everything is not perfect. Red was not the one timing himself.

    diss a much younger dj.... how ever tech is dope everything else ....: mmmh .....don't feel it.... more fresh ideas in dwells set and manwells routine is more tech and faster....

    • @TheOFFICIALDMCUSA
      @TheOFFICIALDMCUSA  7 років тому +7

      They know each other well - and dissed each other lol - anyone is open territory for dissing in a battle. In fact, the more a DJ gets dissed, the more I think he/she was considered a worthy opponent.

    • @hiddenlevel1603
      @hiddenlevel1603 7 років тому

      dwells puts a lot of disses in his sets so it would be weird if no one got back at him. watch dwells 2014 set he diss all the top djs in his set.

    • @denzeladams3500

      Precision was boring and uninspired. Dwell's and Manwell both had much better sets?
      Are perfect cut's the defining feature that makes one dj better than the other? if so, there's a serious problem within this scene

    • @christiez1228
      @christiez1228 8 років тому +2

      I guess you would have to talk to the judges about why they picked who they did to win.
      1st: DJ Precision: 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12
      2nd: DJ Manwell: 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 8
      3rd: Dwells: 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 8
      4th: DJ Throdown: 3
      5th: DJ Ease: 2 + 1 = 3
      6th: DJ Toltech: 2
