    I preordered AcE Winter Combat Shirt and Striker XT in Concamo. I get questions about both all the time. Bomb-proof jackets. Good to see you have ditched the other arm pockets. New stow-away hood system seems incredibly smart. Nice job once again.

    Armin, I just received my M2 and I’m very impressed with the design enhancements over the M65. The Fit, Form, and Function are excellent. My first experience with “air packs “ and I can see and feel how they will enhance the Thermodynamics of the interior atmosphere. And as a reminder for buyers in USA pay attention to the sizing chart. If you hit the gym or too many Cheeseburgers make sure you go up at least two sizes vs USA brands. Mine fit perfectly. Today is first day I can try the parka outside. Looking forward to using the M2 and see it patina and become my primary go to for the forest within the temperatures it is best for. Thanks again for your video and detailed information.

    Showing this jacket in the environment that its meant to be in is a good idea for a product spotlight video, definitely apreciate this move. Lenght of the video and amount of information was great. But for me personaly, the best move was to show the product in NEW state, SLIGHTLY WORN state and WORN state. As a customer I want to know how the product will look like after a while. Everyone expects their clothes to loose colour after a time of wearing, but knowing how much before actualy buying it is definitely welcomed information, thank you for that.
    I own your Striker XT gen.2 combat pants and shirt in black to wear in service (police) and I don't think I've ever worn something better. Thank you for the quality.

      The M2 park is specific in this respect. While for other UF PRO gear we are happy to give you information on how to keep their colour as vibrant as possible for as long as possible, the special feature of the jacket is the classic vintage look that the jacket acquires with wear. We would say that the jacket will gain character, and you memories with it. So, the more it wears down, the cooler it looks 🔥

    I have always appreciated the M65 that was issued to me and the features you showed here are all those I have advocated in a newer field jacket...including the pocket in the rear. The only thing I do not see here is the extensions in the sleeves that cover the back of the hands. They were worthwhile if you update the M2. The way you explained it, this jacket is water resistant, not like a Gortex. I would rater take one jacket to the field. Not two. Lastly, one feature I appreciated was button to allow one or more nylon liners for use in lower temperatures. Thank you for the video.

      This is a nice looking jacket. But I think I agree, the M65 does what I need. the Button in liner (or 2 ) is da bomb. That broke in, used look, is what we all appreciate.

      I have a m65 with a Gortex liner. It's been waterproofed with Thomsons waterproof and some others over the years and it's awesome. Do really like this M2 but not sure I'm willing to give up my m65 for a $500 jacket.

      Like said, I usually anyhow have a Poncho with me, as it is one of my must have multi-purpose item for outdoors. In case that the weather is that bad that the water repellency of the M2 would not be sufficient, then I would still have the poncho as a second line of protection. But this is a very individual decision, where everyone has his own preferences.

    I just love your stuff. Once tried your Urban Pants 6 years ago and since then I only wear your trousers. I'm a real fanboy omg 😂 I recently tried your Delta Eagle jacket and I have to say, it's a very high-quality jacket with great features. But... sadly it doesn't work for me really. Its a little too short for me, everytime I bend over I'm a bit exposed on my back for cold wind and rain. I thought maybe a smock or something would be better.
    And now you come up with this or at least I didn't had it on my radar until now. It seems like it would fit my needs really good! The only thing I'm missing are some inner pockets, but I guess I can work around that.
    Thank you for your detailed and honest review, I like that sort of video alot!
    Cheers from Germany 🍻

    I wear UF Pro pants every day at work, they are the best one can get... Carinthia also has a "tactical Parka", but the M2 concept seems better thought out. Not that I don't like Carinthia, but UF Pro does the pockets right. The pocket design is just very important if you have to "wear" a lot of stuff around you. I only ask because I imagine part of the method your team uses for designing; you observe and scrutinize every component down to the core, then come up with clever alternative materials and design techniques, experiment and find where it all works together, and end up making the overall product better than similar designs from before. To do this with footwear would be very cool. Thanks UFPro team

    Not at £447 I just don't think so, good presentation apart from the coughing but maybe that's due to anything probably unrelated to the jacket who knows!, apart from being over engineered(I don't really see why the price is so high) it's still not waterproof like most sport jackets made from fancy man made materials that are a fraction of the price with the same bullshit over engineering, the thing is natural fabrics are just better and even though the M65 was a cotton blend it has 58 years of proven use in the military field, the answer to waterproofing put a poncho over it lol this is a pure scam nothing more than a fugazi of the original M65, do yourself a favour and save yourself £400 cos a real M65 with the inner core is only £ £50.

  • @giggles0051
    @giggles0051 2 роки тому +1

    400 for an M65 clone with a few extra pockets, isn't totally waterproof and doesn't come with a removeable liner like the original M65?
    If I wanted better I could buy a Helikon model M65 for about half the price and wax the cotton to make it water repellent but still breathable.
    I know UF PRO are renowned for quality (edit: I know because I own UF PRO gear), but there are many others on the market that offer the same or more for less. Great item, poor price.

    450euros for a cotton jacket?!!! Are you serious? For half that price one can get an Arktis 20000mm water column or some trekking jacket with 80000mvph 20000mm fabric. Gore-tex is outdated, breathability has gone far better since a decade. M2 functionalities are great, especially this full pitzip but it's overpriced for the specs

    • @tituspullo9210
      @tituspullo9210 2 місяці тому

      @BarouderAdventures I agree with what you are saying about the price, but something about Arktis - they are not the quality brand that they used to be. I have a two of their windproof tops (A192) and two of their rain jackets (A310). They have all abraded and torn at the joint between sleeve and body, from carrying a backpack, which is ridiculous, given that they supply to the armed forces who, by the very nature of the job, carry backpacks, wear body armour. I contacted Arktis and they were less than interested. I have never had this happen with any other brand jacket. So I will never purchase another Arktis product. I do have 4 pairs of UF Pro pants, the first pair purchased 4 years ago. I wear them every day and they get hard use. The first pair I purchased has maybe another year and a half to two years of service left in them. If UF Pro make their jacket to the same quality as their pants, then I think, even at the high price that they ask, will be a good investment.

    Hey Armin. I have several UFpro products and I am very happy with their quality and several innovations. I am also lucky that I was able to find a brand new long since discontinued Stealth Smock. Having worn it for over a year now in different climates I have to make a suggestion for future over-garment jackets that is missing from this otherwise great jacket.
    In sub-zero climates or when otherwise windy and chilly so that you are wearing multiple layers of clothing underneath, the otherwise roomy overcoat Stealth Smock is too tight from the neck area. I think a lot of clothing manufactures (especially tactical) often make their collar's zipped up too tight to comfortably wear fleezes, thermal vests and scarfs under them. I think what I am going after is visible in this video also. Your collar is open while having a lot of garments underneath. Zipping the jacket all the way would be very tight and uncomfortable, yet it is often required when shielding from the elements.
    I hope next iteration of parka/smock -line takes this into account. A roomy collar even when zipped up, like most rain jackets have, is essential in challanging climates. This way you can always use your parka/stealth smock as your outer layer for their superb functionality and/or camouflage, and adjust the underlayers according to climate. Zipping up with layers is currently too tight, even though the jacket is otherwise oversized to allow this.
    Anyways - great product video as always, cheers!

    Its a cool looking Jacket and I love pockets, but, I personally think it will be hard to beat a Gore-Tex jacket. The thing is, so many clothing manufacturers have adopted Gore-Tex and some have better designs, in order for the coat or jacket to breathe, when implementing the Gore-Tex. I can attest to that because I own a few. With that said, I will still find a M2 parka. It will be a good jacket to use underneath when the weather gets worst.

      I agree with you regarding water column and the overall waterproof performance. Here GTX is great, reliable and also my absolute favorite material in that category. But there are many other characteristics of an outdoor garment, which are important and where GTX is not the best choice. Here Ventile or Eta Proof have significant advantages. To my mind these characteristics fit very well to the M2 Parka and I can think of no GGTX material, which would be comparable in this specific case

    Was there a reason you guys didn't add a removable winter liner the like the M65? I think for such an expensive jacket, it should have the ability to be upscaled with a liner so I can wear it all year round.
    Similar to how the windstoper liners turn all your combat pants into winter pants. I think you guys should include a liner to turn this jack from a autumn/fall parka into a winter coat as well.

    • @ufprogear
      @ufprogear  2 роки тому +2

      Hi there, we wanted to keep the weight down as material itself is already quite robust and heavier than regular materials and gives you good protection. With this everybody has an option to choose a thermal layer that suits them best.

    • @thomasarminwagner6246
      @thomasarminwagner6246 Рік тому +1

      We didn´t opt for a winter liner, as I personally think that combinations are better than integrations. Let me explain: I rather combine for example the parka with a mid layer jacket, as I have then 2 products in my set up, which I wear separately or together. An additional liner is just a liner, without additional function. And when I pack, I usually prefer gear, which has more different functions. It's more efficient for me.

      @microwave1196 Рік тому

      @@thomasarminwagner6246
      I understand.
      I find having a mid layer jacket that has many of the same functions as the outer layer coat (pockets, organizination, hood, ect) too redundant. I'd rather have one coat that I know well as far as functions, features, and my organization in the pockets. But also is scaleable for different weather, making it a year round coat. The liner doing the job of the mid layer as far as insulating, and the coat doing the job of functioning.
      In practice, when you're saying you'd shed the coat and drop to a mid layer jacket that has many of the functions of the coat. I'd perfer to use the same coat and shed the liner. For familiarity sake. Guess it's just two diffrent ways to do the same job.

    Hello Armin,
    what were you wearing under the jacket in the video? It looks like some sort of fleece-combat shirt.
    Thanks for designing amazing products by the way

    If it takes 23 minutes to explain a jacket and material, I think it could be done in 5 minutes, because the majority of viewers will move on after 5 mins.

    Was that considered during design?

    Hi, great smock ! I love it :) I suggest you add a tab on the top of the upper sleeves pockets (such as on Stryker UBAS).
    is the backpack a Tasmanian tiger ?

  • @DeathMond.
    @DeathMond. 2 роки тому

    As an avid outdoorsman i will say that the cut and quality of your materials is not up to par, with others of less expense.
    Especially the back cut makes your sleeves pull up when working or hiking . Now put a plate carrier on and this is exacerbated.

    Looks like a great jacket for sure. But, when you sit down the bottom of the jacket is very tight and curves up towards the torso making a nice container to collect water

    *When are the M2 Parka, and the Striker Stealth Smock coming back in stock?*
    *Also, it would be a nice if you could button in the M-65 Liner to your M2 and Striker Smocks.*

      Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated restock date for M2 Parka yet, but we would recommend to subscribe to our "Notify me" function. The Striker Stealth smock is discontinued but is still available in some sizes from our Dealers. We suggest you check with our Dealer Locator if it might be available at a Dealer in your country.

    Got my M2 today! Already love it. What i don't understand why you guys did not use a 2 way zipper on the front. Since the Jacket is a little longer it would be more comfortable especialy while wearing a climbing harness.

    • @ufprogear
      @ufprogear  2 роки тому

      We had no reason to use the front 2 way zipper as the jacket can be opened on with the zippers on sides.

    Looks like a nicely designed jacket spoilt only by the use of Velcro which is so noisy and doesn’t last as long as say either zips or metal poppers they are much quieter and classier.
