Awesome to hear about this. Thank you so much!🙏 Should we be trying to drink a liter an hour if we don’t already? I’m stage 3…how do we know know how much or little water we should be drinking?
It's always best to check with your own healthcare team for individual recs! You can also watch the color of your urine. Pale yellow-clear in color is typically well hydrated.
I consume a 3-4 times of coffee a day and I know its diuretic which makes me pee frequently. They also said it makes you dehydrated which makes you feel thirsty for water. So as being said I drink a lot of water after consuming caffeine which makes me feel full and thirsty at the same time. Now my question is does this damage my kidney cause I drink a lot of water? Does this have an effect on my blood or even my health?
I've been giving blood plasma and so staying hydrated is absolutely necessary and it shows up in your hematocrit level and mine has been low and in my case I have to make sure I drink just water
hello. great video. Just wondering if herbs like ashwagandha and tribulus help or hurt the kidney. I hear conflicting info. Not sure if i should continue to take it or trash it.
Depending on individual nutrient needs, a natural unsalted nut butter (only ingredient is the nut), hummus, guacamole or avocado can all be good options!
I m in ckd3b stage and my nephrologist advised to restrict water intake to 1.5 litres fir entire day. , The urine output is only 700cc in 24hours. Is it cause for concern?? pl advise.
Hello, my mother in law just received shocking news that she has stage 4 kidney disease. My question is what is the formula of how much water to drink? She is 93 years old and weighs 132 lbs. thank you very much.
It is not ideal to be drinking too little water either! Best to talk with your doctor/renal dietitian so they can provide an individualized recommendation for you!
a friend , he drink 4 glass of water per day , he have all kind of sickness 😢 Kidney stone , mental health problem , dehytration ( hospital drip ) pityful 😢 ,
If you are on dialysis you will want to check with your dialysis care team! It depends on your urine output, swelling/edema, and how much you are gaining between dialysis treatments.
I would be interested in the topic of "cholesterol" in relation to kidney disease. I have very high cholesterol with my "minimal change" (nephrotic syndrome). What is the best thing to do about it and how best to deal with it? Greetings from Germany
It definitely is a lot! Dr. Hashmi explains that this amount (800-1000 mL/hour) is the maximum amount the kidneys can handle/excrete. He is not suggesting that everyone drink that amount every hour. Always best to check with your healthcare provider for your individual needs!
I hope more people will see your reply because I certainly thought he was saying drink 1 liter per hour and I know there's no way I can do that neither would I have tried. That's just too much water for anybody and who has time for that anyway. I try to get in 3 liters each day.

I was thinking-1 and a half litre per day.😮 and having a kidney stone. Now I know. Thanks a lot.

No drinking too much water actually cause hypervolemia not exactly hyponatremia.
That doesn't make sense to me. Maybe that is what comes later?
