Gold Rush Press Night at Drayton Manor Resort

- A new rollercoaster has opened at Drayton Manor and we headed down to check out the press event as part of a package that was included in a Drayton Manor Hotel overnight stay. Here’s my honest thoughts on this brand new Intamin Lift and Launch coaster at Drayton Manor Resort!

Overall the ride is surprisingly better than I was expecting and whilst it’s a good family coaster I feel as though it’s good for Drayton and Drayton only. Frontier Falls is a lovely area and this ride compliments the area wonderfully.

Drayton taking shots at Paultons (and missing)
For reasons no one will give a crap about, I’m in Morecambe tonight and I had a wander around the old Frontierland site (still derelict after 20 years) with a few hints of log flume and wooden coaster. Watching this video, I’m definitely getting Frontierland vibes! 😮 Great video!

This has been my most anticipated coaster this year yes even more than Hyperia because I already knew Hyperia would be Elite but for Gold Rush there was a lot of unknown on how good the theming was an it seems like an incredibly immersive area can't waot to experience it this week

That ride actually looks quite good. Theming wise looks awesome too, I think my 7 year old daughter will love this. Thanks for filming. How come you didn't get an invite? Don't they know who you are haha!!
😂 behave, it’s probably because they invited me to review the wave and not only was it closed but staff were telling me the reason why it was closed when they probably shouldn’t have 😅 I don’t care about invites, I wouldn’t have paid for the hotel otherwise, what I do care about is honest reviews and parks going out of their way to censor any negative comment or comment that doesn’t align perfectly with what they want people to say. Hence my sarcy Outro 😅

Very excited for Friday! Seems the entertainment was a bit better than the coaster…. And where’s the thing for the roof of the station, it looks very odd! Hopefully there before Friday.

Haven’t been Drayton manor for years
Not missing much
The two reasons I went to Drayton have gone now (Apocalypse & Standup Shockwave) so it's not really on my visit list. I know they are aiming at families but this looks very tame, should have got a next gen Vekoma. I think kids can handle something a bit more thrilling these days from the amount I see getting on full size coasters.
Yeah... sadly Drayton is going backwards in terms of a market that appeals to us. if you've got a family it's wonderful but now there's really no reason to visit.. we've all seen the 5 year plan, we know what's coming and it's nothing worth me personally visiting for now but that's not taking away from the fact that it's a wonderful park it's just a park I now feel too old for with zero thrill rides of notes worth visiting for

My main focus for Drayton Manor now Gold Rush is complete shift focus to sorting out Pirates Adventure and Excalibur you could easily do something with both sites as they are rether large spots of land

@@LiftHillsandThrills Maybe keeping some things close to their chest and depends on how well Gold Rush does, I expect they will continue to expand with a few smaller addition next couple of years before making their next big investment

It’s the launches Vs if you go forwards or backwards. Nothing major

@@LiftHillsandThrills there has been working on finishing the exterior of the station so we will see
Hotels at theme parks means they build some decent stuff they must be doing ok people think it's a merlin park we used Tesco vouchers the pirate dark ride was good no more
I mean… the hotel is a bit dated.. the conference suite type things are REALLY fancy but it does need a freshen up everywhere else. The reception feels like a leisure centre
It doesn't look bad but from the pov they isn't really much theming considering the big fuss they made about it
We thought the same... it doesn't compare to Paultons... like it's better than I was expecting but still miles behind the immersion of Tornado Springs. It's crazy to me how a Wild West area constructed at a park like Sundown Adventureland is still considerably better, more immersive and more highly themed than this modern reskin. Don't get me wrong it's a great area but it's a movie set area... it feels temporary whereas Sundown's is very much an immersive area as opposed to looking like a set.

I think that’s them done for a bit now. A few flats coming in the next few years and some lodges (if that’s still going ahead) but that’s about it

I thought it was gunna be a sleeper hit of a coaster and seems like it is! No western shit here 😂 looked like a decent event food and drink wise!
Badly organised in terms of crowding / only having the ride open for a bit under an hour but everything else was alright!
