Know Elvis passed 6 weeks after this I get chills everytime I watch this performance and How Great Thou Art in the same show. This show has the greatest performance of How Great Thou Art.
This was few months before his death. He was so sick here. He had so many many health problems, but he still delivered beautifully. I will love him forever ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another good song request. He did it in his '68 Comeback Special, but he did another slightly different version of it in '76...the one from '76 is the one I like better out of the two, but that's just me.
Let me introduce myself I'm Eddie I'm custom home builder and yes I'm married not to lady but to my work and when I ❤s and a thumbs up means keep playing the most beautiful music and the the,👍 means keep your doing an outstanding job darlin ❤
It’s sad to see him in such bad health, but it is part of his life and shows his love for music and for his fans so I’m glad to see this one. His vocals are supreme even though his health wasn’t. Thank you
He was nearing the end of his life at this point and was 42. I think at this point he only had two more months left. He had multiple health problems. The reason I wanted you to see him in this concert is because you've seen him at his best in concert physically, but here you can see just how far his health had slid from just 7 years before in 1970. It's sad to be sure, but his voice never failed him and he always came through for the fans. Thank you Zariah, and you look stunning today...and I love your tan! 😉
Thank you ❤ Yeah I can see that, and even in the condition he was in he vocally still delivered. I really am impressed by his grit and talent haven't seen any one so dedicated to his fans even through sickness. Amazing man Elvis was.
Everyone seems to believe this was Elvis' last concert -- it was NOT. This was his last FILMED concert, not his last. He went on to do another concert, that was his last 5 days later on June 26th in Indianapolis.
Zariah Rose What a beautiful name♥ A really lovely reaction Thank you so much. A few songs before this one at the same concert (21/6/1977) he sang 'Hurt' INCREDIBLY! DEFINITELY one you must Please react too, and THE BEST version of 'How Great Thou Art' is also DYNAMTE! (though performed exactly 8 weeks '56 days' before his death) Another really BRILLIANT performance though by a different artist is: 'The Nightmare' (A Time For Absolution) from the CD Heathcliff 'Live' recorded October 1996 by the cast of Heathcliff the Rock Opera musical! Please check this out too! Have a really super day and keep warm Zariah Bless you.♥
Hi zariah Firstly time seeing your reactions beautiful reaction Check out The wonder of you live American trilogy live Hurt live Suspicious minds live If i can dream 68 special You gave me a mountain Cant help falling in love Love me tender
1935 on January 8 a huge star was born, but sadly in 1977 on august 16 we lost a great musician, a amazing singer, but we also lost a amazing humanitarian that helped so many people that he did not even know. Today over 46 years after his death, people are still calling Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll (he said that Chubby Checker was the one that should be called King of Rock'n roll, if any human should), Elvis didn't like that title and he believed that the only King was God and he actually told this to his fans several times, he said: I believe that God is the only true king, sometimes he added Jesus Christ. I think that Elvis is a MASTER not only of king of Rock'n roll, he is A MASTER of many genres of music because he can sing very well in any genre, but what do you think, is he good enough to be called a music king? Elvis was really in my mind, a MASTER of GOSPEL and other music, no one does it better then him, he is best known for making Rock'n roll famous, so he was called The King of Rock'n roll, but he never liked that people called him that, he repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them: I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King (sometimes he also said Jesus Christ is the only King)... He also never liked the "so called joke" Elvis the Pelvis, he loved Jokes, but that was for him very hurtful to hear people say, or write that. Did you know that Elvis was a Sandy Blonde with Blue Eyes... Elvis was born in the poor part of Tupelo Mississippi (in a shotgun house) and it was mainly Afro Americans living there, at the place where Elvis family lived there only lived 3 more white families, the rest was colored people, his family was dirt poor until he became an artist after singing in a mainly colored peoples church during his childhood. Did you know that he had several friends that where Afro Americans, one of his friends where James Brown, yes THAT James Brown (The King of Soul), another artist was B.B King, yes that B.B King... He also was a good friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight. Elvis really admired Martin Luther King very much, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortunately he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time. He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, (Insomnia) sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome, things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function. Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects). He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it. Many out of his relatives died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age. He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life. Did you know that a big group of white people actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called the music he did so called N... music, that is so painful to think that some people actually can think like that, skin color is just color and nothing more, when will people start to realize that? There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time ! He is the only person to have 60 records gone to sell Gold since he died. Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres. Not bad for someone who failed in his music class (in school, he got a F), he also never took a single singing lesson, yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right? Something else that people tend to overlook: He always conducts his musicians and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to doing that. Imagen you are a singer, you have great Musicians, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Auto tune, no Lip singing and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure? At the time when Elvis started to perform, Auto tune did not exist yet and when it became available, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you ! That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts (during his 20 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy. He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never wrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self. The fact that he had Glaucoma must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting! This unfortunately made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis. Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, it was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right? A important fact about Elvis success is his guitarist James Burton's sound, it was a big fact that made him sound different, naturally his voice is the main factor for his success to, I think both things played a crucial role in his success... About the deep base voiced JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps Quartet) he is a Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base singer there is. A video about him helping others, look at this: ua-cam.com/video/CrJ1c9tm-C0/v-deo.html Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbor, he talked to the nations about taking the Polio vaccine, Elvis took the first injection himself, he helped by donating a big amount of money to St Jude hospital, they fight against cancer (especially children with), he gave away loads of jewelry, gave away cars, he even gave away some houses to total strangers. Elvis started an organization that helps people to get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation), this organization helps people even now close to 50 years after he passed away. A thing that you perhaps did not know: Elvis ALMOST NEVER did a show OUTSIDE OF USA, yes he did sing a few times in Canada: 4 concerts, 2 times in Toronto, 1 time in Ottawa and 1 time in Vancouver (during the 50:s?). When the Aloha From Hawaii (Live in Honolulu 1973) was showed it had close to 1.5 Billion viewers from around the whole world and 3.7 billion people lived on earth at this time, so it was close to 1/3 of all of the population on the earth that viewed the show, it was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the globe. Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis died: ua-cam.com/video/PO8Kq_3KTyI/v-deo.html I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the shotgun house in Tupelo Mississippi where he lived in his early years, he was born there ! You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realize that from the front of the house. I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/the person/the man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music. So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about. This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come ! Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped in a big way to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccine in a TV show and that made the interest for taking the vaccine to go up from 0,6 % all the way up to 80 % in 6 months), so in 6 months he got 79.4 % more of the American people take the Polio vaccine and shortly after it was eradicated from USA, he also helped in the fight to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St Jude's children cancer treatment clinic by donating a huge amount of money to them, he also helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbor and many other things!
Outch, this is the hardest video to look at, I feel so sad that there is no other where he is not sick and singing this song, he was so sick here, he stumble's, he stutters and can hardly breath (at this time he had already had 3 heart attacks), he did this 8 weeks before he died, but listen to his voice The pictures and sound are not matched here, but he could sing and play both piano and guitar, but did you know that he got a F (Fail/flunk) in the music lessons at school
I had never believed it when my professor in college, both a musicologist and professional symphony musician, himself, told me that he viewed Elvis Presley to be the greatest overall singer of all time. "Why?," "What the hell?," so many of us said? With him first going on to ask what's Frank Sinatra's greatest and/or signature song? "My Way," someone eventually said and then the professor proceeded to show us various polls from over the years which listed Sinatra as the greatest singer ever. Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin were also on top of some, and Elvis, too, on a few. But the point of the exercise was to simply show us Sinatra was considered by many, though it's subjective, to be the greatest. The class then listened to Sinatra's "My Way," and then Elvis' version, back to back. With the room being roughly split as to whose version was better, "which proved what I thought?" But then the professor showed us Elvis rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special. With the point ultimately being that regardless of whose version of 'My Way" you preferred, Elvis was right there, totally at home playing in Sinatra's backyard for lack of better parlance. But as to Sinatra playing in Elvis' backyard, he said, it couldn't be done, as he said "[i]magine Sinatra, (who he totally loved) trying to do that rock number?" Then going on to say that he had found no singer who had ever sang more genres, more majestically, than Elvis, & he challenged us to find out for ourselves by looking at his full catalogue of Rock, Pop, Soul, Country, Ballads, Gospel and more. And, when done, I admit I became a convert who was so, so doubtful, at first, I can't even begin to tell you. But from rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from that Elvis 1968 Comeback Special, to singing about the dream of humanity coming together with "If I Can Dream," from the same show, I believe you will see what I mean. Elvis even had a voice that could be operatic if you go and listen to 'Hurt' and his version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" will tell you why he has also sold more gospel records than anyone, as well as just tons more, overall. But, with pop and 'Such A Night' to a ballad such as 'They Remind Me Too Much of You,' he did it all, and so, so damn well. While for soul, check out 'Long Black Limousine' or 'You're Wearin' That Loved on Look' which is a bit of another number. Because as Elvis' one album cover says, there's 'Something for Everybody.' Also, and if ultimately you don't think Elvis is the best, that's totally cool as there really is something for everyone!;-) Great channel and I wish you the best!!! Zariah is a cute name, too! ~ Christopher Tyler P.S. Those recommendations are only, quite literally, the beginning!
Well shoot....ain't you just lovely lol. Yea. This was about 6 weeks before he passed...sad. he was visualy unwell..swollen. but. You know..despite it all ,he tried and did his best as he always did.
This performance was the last before his death. Few people know that Elvis was an Alpha 1 gene. His mothers parents were first cousins which produced a double gene, meaning he inherited all the health problems of his mother's family. his mother and her two brothers all died in their 40's she died at 46 and her brothers died in their middle 40's. they all died of the same thing, heart disease and Liver failure. Elvis was 42 and told his backup singer Kathy Westmoreland that he would die in his early 40's. In the book by Sally Hoedel, "Elvis Presley Destined to Die Young", Elvis has terrible health problems he hid from the public. He was born with a twisted colon, and was a twin who was stillborn. He never had a medical attention because they were so poor during the depression. In 1971, Elvis developed early onset Glaucoma and had to have emergency surgery to save his right eye. The glasses he wore were necessary. Also told by his hair dresser Larry Geller, he had two mild heart attacks in 1975, but kept on going. As seen in this video, Elvis was bloated and pale, his liver was failing to filter toxins. He took pain killers during this time. Sally Hoedel said had he never taken a drug he would have still died in his 40's, as you can see his talent was with him till the end. RIP beautiful man.
This was NOT the last concert. This concert was the last FILMED concert but not the last. He went on 5 days later to do another concert on June 26th in Indianapolis.
I dont get why people like seeing this us elvis fans who cared about the man who gave us his all dont wanna see him like this im sorry but if debra was a true elvis fan she wouldn't want to see elvis like this this song reminds all of us elvis fans just how bad elvises health rewlly was in the final years the light was growing dim & he had nothing left & u could see it
I agree nobody does want to see him like this. However, this shows the human side of Elvis separate from the Entertainer Elvis that most people thought was invincible. The way I see it, if you're going to learn who he was you need to see it all the good and the bad. Even member of the Memphis Mafia were interviewed and said they knew his health was failing him long before it collapsed completely, but they couldn't believe it when he died as soon as he did. It's incredible to me that even as sick as he was here, his body was failing him, but his voice was strong and this song captures that moment. He never let the fans down and he always came through right up to the end. This is why I requested Zariah to do a reaction video with this song.
NOT ONLY IS SHE BEAUTIFUL BUT WITH A SMILE THAT WOULD LIGHT UP THE ENTIRE STATE OF TEXAS ON ANY NIGHT COWBOYS!!!❤
6 weeks before he passed away.
And his legacy will carry on for generations.
Great song great pick. He was always great

a few months?? 6 weeks is not a few months
Great reaction Zariah....please react to Elvis singing "And I Love You So".
Another good song request. He did it in his '68 Comeback Special, but he did another slightly different version of it in '76...the one from '76 is the one I like better out of the two, but that's just me.
Sure I will add that song to the queue. 😊❤️

It’s sad to see him in such bad health, but it is part of his life and shows his love for music and for his fans so I’m glad to see this one. His vocals are supreme even though his health wasn’t. Thank you

Some of us call this knowing how to sing. Elvis always had a great voice and knew how to use it.
He gave everything, even when his health was really bad. That's one of many things I love about this great entertainer.
Thank you!
“ trying to get to you”. Was in his prime. You have to seen how gorgeous he was!!! Please
Elvis was only about 6 or so weeks from death, here, but that wonderful voice never failed him!!!
A very sick Elvis. But nonetheless, a performing one. His love for the crowd never gets old. He loved his fans, and they loved him.
This was tough seeing elvis like this because he was at the end of his life & he was very very sick this was wen he was going down hill

I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the shotgun house in Tupelo Mississippi where he lived in his early years, he was born there !

But then the professor showed us Elvis rocking out to 'Trying to Get to You' from the Elvis 1968 Comeback Special.
Because as Elvis' one album cover says, there's 'Something for Everybody.'
Also, and if ultimately you don't think Elvis is the best, that's totally cool as there really is something for everyone!;-) Great channel and I wish you the best!!! Zariah is a cute name, too! ~ Christopher Tyler
P.S. Those recommendations are only, quite literally, the beginning!
Elvis passed away at 42.
I dont get why people like seeing this us elvis fans who cared about the man who gave us his all dont wanna see him like this im sorry but if debra was a true elvis fan she wouldn't want to see elvis like this this song reminds all of us elvis fans just how bad elvises health rewlly was in the final years the light was growing dim & he had nothing left & u could see it
Pretending he wasn't in poor health will not change the fact that he was in poor health when he died. It's an excellent song and he delivered it
@@Wishes890 i agree
He was not old. Just overweight. Out of shape. That breath control he had was not there anymore. The best white male voice there was
This song is decent I wished she would have chose another Elvis song nobody wants to see Elvis like this & I mean nobody
Ouf that hit me. Just speechless
