- A quick update as I've had some sad news today. I may be a bit quieter than normal for a little while but will post the videos I made last week over the coming days in any case. A huge part of my life has sheared off........this formidable woman will be missed so much, but will always be with me and will continue to influence me. I am so glad of the time we had together. Aunty Teapot: 1920-2021.

Thank you all so very much for your kind words and thoughts......I shall certainly be passing these on to the rest of the family....I love how much love there is here. On a side note.....I am just watching this video back today and am absolutely gutted to see adverts on it.....I did not put them there (ugh), I have now removed them. Any money that has been generated I will spend on some flowers for her funeral.......some beautiful spring flowers which she would have loved. Thank you all so much. X

Born in the 20's like my own mum here in the US and Jack's mum in London, all coming of age in the dreadful years of WWII, forged by experiences and loss we cannot comprehend and of which they rarely spoke. Their like may never be seen again.

What A wonderful full life she must have had and I am sure she loved you being in it and she in yours. My grandmother was born in 1901 and died 99 years later. I always think of the history. 2 World Wars, a depression, going from horse and buggy to a man on the moon. I am sure you aunt had the same type of experience in her life also. I miss the stories. Oh, Vivi, she sounds like such an amazing character and wonderful friend and aunt, what a blessing of a relationship. You have been a wonderful help and comfort to her for years. I think it’s great that you could both be so frank with each other, I am that sort of person as well. I’m so sorry for your loss, even though you knew at some point it was coming. Be gentle with yourself these next few weeks and months, as you would with a dear friend. Grief is an interesting process and well worth the investment. You are loved!

You sound such kindred spirits - truly sorry for your loss. I completely agree that a plant in memory of someone, more so than other physical keep sakes, keeps their memory alive and makes you smile over and over. I have a clematis with the same name as my grandma who I lost some years ago, and every spring it feels like she returns when the buds start forming again. Take care

I can see you in auntie teapot, a chip off the old block! Its always a shock when they go, they seem so strong and independant, especially that generation. She has left you with happy memories. Oh bless you, your Great aunt teapot sounded fantastic..when you were describing her she sounded so much like the dear friend I had who died four years ago aged 93 yrs..she was such a strong character, grew her own food, did everything herself..She got dementia and was quite muddled at times, I’m trying to make you smile..I was her power of attorney..she said to me one day “remind me, what hymns am I having at my funeral ?”.When I told her, she said “ that’s no good, I’ve forgotten the words to that” ..
When I gently explained she wouldn’t need to know the words, she went into fits of the giggles bless her.

So sorry Vivi for your loss, but how amazing Aunty Teapot reached over 100. When my dad and mum died my best friend gave me money for a memory plant, and I passed this tradition on to my DIL who lost her father last week. My dad a red geranium, my mum a yellow rose. Maybe instead of flowers plant your own memory plant, a rose, a blueberry maybe, something that reminds you every day. Big Hugs from Australia.

I've just lost my dear friend Inna, she was going to be 99 this September...she was a friend, a mother, a guardian angel, she would call me every week, I visited her once a month and she would cook me an amazing Italian feast...I miss her a lot and still cry every day for her loss.. tons of hugs to you💕..Sue

Lost for father in law at 100 and 4mos in feb..died suddenly and peacefully..still a shock as we had spoke to him earlier the day he died.
Not ill.just old...but a long life as your great aunt.
