We all just watched Mahomes on 1 leg. Complete passes to WRs 6th & 7th on the depth chart. 1 of which has more TACKLES then Receptions. To help take the Chiefs to the Superbowl.... Mahomes wouldve been able to make it work anywhere INCLUDING the Bears.

I remember when kc decided to draft Todd Blackledge over Dan Marino. As a chiefs fan I understand how the bears fan base feels.
Marino was pretty awful his senior year in college. At least there was a logical reason.

I think they passed on deshaun because they probably learned about some of the nonsense he was up to, and most experts had Trubisky ranked ahead of Mahommes. If what Pat Sr. Said is true, I have no idea why they didn’t roll the dice on Pat.

Parkins, to think you left KC just a couple of months before the Chiefs drafted Mahomes. You somehow timed it perfectly.
More than likely he would’ve won enough to keep fox around as a coach. But he wouldn’t have been the calibre he is now, no chance. The chiefs and saints at that time were the only places that could’ve made him the qb he is today

As a Bears fan this hurts to hear. But if I’m honest, I don’t feel Mahomes would be experiencing the same level of success with the Bears. That says a lot about how the organization is managed. 😢
I think Pat would have balled at the bear regardless. The only way you stop mahomes is if you made him not use his natural abilities.

I couldn't stop smiling. Patrick has changed the team I've watched for 40 years and this made me lose it. Growing up Bears were my 2nd favorite team. 85 Bears were the coolest MFr I had ever seen, even knew all the words to that damn Superbowl Shuffle. Then I grew up to watch many teams beat up on my Chiefs and no longer had a 2nd fave team. Thank you Pat
I was yelling at the TV "MAHOMES!" but I was sure that Pace was going to blow it and draft Trubisky.
I saw the way he fawned over Jimmy Garoppolo and gushed about Garoppolo going to going to Eastern Illinois just like he did.
He was looking for a sweet boy he could invite over for Thanksgiving dinner or share a milkshake with while ignoring the guy that was lighting up the college game.

It sucks, but at least Pace tried to somewhat rectify by drafting Justin Fields. I'm sure Pace regrets that every day of his life.

@@RayRey028he’s always been a true Chicago fan; he didn’t want to leave KC but the opportunity to work on Chicago radio was his dream. I know he enjoyed his time in KC and I believe he was a fan of the Chiefs and the Royals when he was here. I think he’ll always be a fan but Chicago is his true city love I think.

Ppl put to much stock into the starting QB developing the backup. Mahomes benefited from Alex Smith but think about this… Aaron Rodgers benefitted from Brett Favre. Tom Brady benefited from Drew Bledsoe and so forth. At the end of the day, it’s up to the QB to perform. No amount of mentorship will guarantee success.

I think he wouldn't have had the team time to sit or division he had in KC and we didn't have the coaching to let him be him so we need to focus on fields,
Mahomes got lucky. His career wouldn’t have turned out this great under my Chicago Bears. Hopefully, Poles will be different than other GMs.

Pre draft, i kept telling the bear fans mahomes should be the top pick in the whole draft. That they should pick him. I always looked at QBs because i always wanted my team to draft a round 1 QB.
The problem was mahomes nfl comp pre draft was jay cutler, and bears fans could not get past it. I saw aaron rodgers without the snarky d-bagginess. They all wanted watson or trubisky, and i wasnt too high on either. I was wrong about watson. He did turn out good.
So on draft day im expecting my team to take dalvin cook or mccaffrey, knowing 1 of them would be available.
Then it happened. My chiefs traded up and picked him. To me, it was a huge surprise. I heard rumors but blew them off. He wasnt quite the player i expected. He was so much better. I expected him to go for 4500 and 35 tds in 2018. I underestimated him.

Ryan Pace recently said that Mahomes is mistaken and that their interest in Mahomes was not as Patrick had described it to his father. He was not a serious QB choice for the Bears.

As a KC native and hometown girl we can only be grateful that destiny aligned so we got Mahomes . Don't beat yourselves up about it though because the Chiefs just happened to be the right team to develop and hone him into the superstar QB he has become. If he had been drafted by another team he might not have become the insanely great QB he is. It really was just the right team and player coming together at the right time to create a unstoppable force.
