Last Cubs game I attended before moving away. The TV audio is only about 10% of what the sound was like in reality. Everyone in the park pretty much crapped their pants.
My first game at wrigley this year, the cubs are losing to st. louis, then the Blue Angels come and do flybys and then the cubs come back to win the game in extra 4-2! much better than Yankee Stadium !
I wonder if this was the same game that Mark Grace nearly sh*# his pants when the Blue Angels flew over a second time. Grace was in the batter's box waiting for a pitch and wasn't anticipating a "supersonic" fastball.
@mrworldwide14 To hell with BOTH the Cubs and the White Sox. I'm waiting for a Brewers/Indians World Series. This year, it just might happen, the way both teams are playing.
This game was happening during The Chicago Air and Water Show which happens nearby Wrigley Field at North Avenue Beach. Wrigley Field isn't too far away from Lake Michigan heck you can walk it if you wanted to.
@336kgf Lol well you know how many guys are going to cry about it! like the A-rod type guys. And it is sad that some teams don't have a fanbase like San Francisco,Boston,or New York. And the Yankees spend the most money cause they make the most.....they make their money make money. And we can't stop that sadly. But we might have to live with it.
@TOOMUCHGAME15 Great. The Yankees are going to buy ANOTHER championship. They are still pissed off here because they outbid the Brewers by at least $40 mil to get C.C. Makes you wonder how many other mercenaries, ERRR all stars, ERRRR other players they will trade for. Is there any way MLB can have a HARD salary cap in place to keep only big market teams from getting everyone they want? Is it too much to ask?
@TOOMUCHGAME15 Set the rules and level the playing field in the beginning and it would work. I find it deplorable that there is such disparity between big market and small market. You notice how the NFL does it? In that case, it works, because the rules are the same for everyone. Just sick and tired of the pinstripes and the Sox being able to do anything they want financially at any time and the small market clubs have to scramble on a consistent basis to put a winning team on the field.
they all got demoted, lost their wings and completed their tours peeling patatos and washing bug-stained plane windshields after this unauthorized yahoo stunt.
I was there. In the bleachers. With my now ex-wife and ex-sister-in-law…🥵it was hotter than hades that day. Drank 50 beers and nearly cooked from the sun⛑
@TOOMUCHGAME15 OK...how do you propose it? I have a brilliant idea...hard cap of $80 million. You exceed the cap, you are ineligible for the postseason. Let the Steinbrenners try to sign someone for $20-30 mil a year with that rule in place. Guess what? Not every city has that large of a fanbase. Not every city can afford a BILLION dollar stadium. I find it disgusting that their luxury tax is more than some team's entire payrolls. Not every owner has huge pockets.
As a ten year old in 98’ obsessed with baseball and fighter planes at the time. This was on of the coolest experiences in person for me.
"buy a ticket" line was really good.
Yeah, I loved that.

I remember watching this LIVE.....* gotta love them Angels.....!!! ** GO NAVY ...!!!
That's just the Blues way of saying, "Hey we're here."
airshow is ten times better than a ballgame.
10 years later and I absolutely agree.
Wow. Being trolled by a thundering detail of Blue Angels ! Go, big NAVY ! Would've liked to have been there for the experience.
Troll level Blue Angel Pilot
I was there. 3 weeks old. Don't remember it very well obviously.
We sang the National Anthem at this game!
Its crazy because when you see the plane go past the camera the fans behind the catcher are all looking straight up to find the plane

Did you see that batter run lol
We would keep playing at Citi Laguardia is right behind us
10 years later
check your facts, field was under the TFR for the for the airshow, anywhere 500ft and higher is fair game. it's a common sight.
Baseball-airshow. Still like the blue angels too though
Blues...for you
haha they were a little late on the national anthem flyover..they still managed to get it in the 6th
Juice dude

Who was the announcer - Dan Patrick?!
Yes. That is him. He sounds much more relaxed now.

@336kgf Well lol......is it a bad thing that i am a Yankees fan? We don't need a salary cap.We just need teams to stop being small market!
Air and water show?
Does anyone know why the jets flew by at that time?
Most likely fa-18As

Please like, for the World Series for Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians but Chicago Cubs didn't have a World Series in over a quarter of a century
they were trying to help the cubbies.
It's time to bust the tower.

Cliff Harris? You sound like Cliff Clavin. BTW, this is authorized, smarty.
Speeding ticket is in order.
The pitch looked up and in. Maybe a strike, but probably a ball.

@336kgf Lol they still suck bro! You know its going to be the Yankees and the Giants :)
Or what I call, The Disaster Waiting to Happen.
Makes you wonder how many roids Sammy was doing at that time.
@TOOMUCHGAME15 Aren't they leading their division and kicking the White Sox's collective asses at the same time?
they all got demoted, lost their wings and completed their tours peeling patatos and washing bug-stained plane windshields after this unauthorized yahoo stunt.

...ummmm...NAaaahhh...baseball is still pretty damn boring......
Baseball? I'd rather watch paint dry.
Red Smith-Baseball is dull only to those with dull minds.
baseball is boring compared to watching Blue Angels.
Haha love it
