This song is the most amazing piece of music I have ever heard I am not exaggerating. It makes me feel surreal in my very soul. Something about the way that ending is...makes me cry and feel joy at the same time I cant explain it Literally have tears in my eyes writing this....perfect music exists...thanks Erra ❤
im late but every now and then i come back to watch people react to this song because this song is medicinal in how amazing it sounds, especially from 4:53 to the end. absolutely PERFECT.
erra is so fucking good! I came in on "augment" but going back to their older stuff yields even heavier stuff. "seven" or "architechts" is downright gross in the best way. Number 1 band by far!
@5:33 One thing I love about this song is how it reminds you not to rush - So often I expect the expected payoff in a predictable, compact package. The first time I heard this song, I felt confused as to why it was there, until I felt the whole story come together for the amazing conclusion. This is true innovation and songwriting that defies convention while also speaking to the universal appeal and appreciation of authentic and relatable art.
The screamer did all the screams here. The singer has only done a few screams/yells on Hybrid Earth, Warrior, Pulse, Valhalla and on his side project band Ghost Atlas with the song Sacred Organs. And yes, Dementia is the final song to finish out the Augment album, the perfect ending. Though they have always made really great album closer songs. Hybrid Earth is a must listen for their discography, get to it whenever you can :)
The part where he asked if it was the clean vocalist who was screaming wasn't done by the main screamer. It was done by the melodic guitarist, Alan. Find a youtube channel called errabooking1 and you'll be able to find all their behind the scenes.
Potato Wagon Alan only did vocals on Impulse but he did write 4 of the songs of Augment. In the Augment teaser video they talk about Garrison's new screaming techniques.
Oh shit yeah I remember now that the drummer did say Garrison was doing more hardcore yells in Augment. My bad my bad. His yells and Alan's screams just sound so identical!
The screamer on this album (Garrison) did screams on this album and Impulse. Then they had another screamer (Ian) on the small EP they did (moments of clarity). And for their two recent albums Drift and Neon, they have J.T Cavey. All three really good voaclists imo. Augment probably is my favourite album by them, but i try not to compare them and just enjoy the different albums for what they are. Erra is definitely one of my favorite bands!
Garrison also did their very first LP and sophomore Andromeda prior to Impulse. Andromeda is fantastic btw. I loved Impulse as it was their first I ever listened to. Augment took them to another level and I've been in love since. Drift took a LONG time for me to warm up to but it's incredible. Every album feels special in their own way and I love them all depending on the mood.
Loving all the Erra videos! They have to be my current favorite band, especially after the show I just saw them at. Another band (who they just toured with) you would benefit from checking out is *Veil of Maya.* Some song suggestions would be *Pool Spray* if you want the heavy groove side, or *Citadel* for a more melodic song throughout. Thanks for the great reactions!
And yes, Jesse Cash the clean vocalist and lead guitarist is insane on guitar. Drift really showcases his talent and intricacies in so many amazing riffs on that album.
I'm speaking in complete honesty.. you're videos genuinely make me a happier person. You can just tell that your reactions are so real and can see that you actually love listening to the music. I really wish you started making videos again. If you aren't busy (and haven't already listened to them) I'd love to see you react to Polaris - The Remedy. I know you'd absolutely love them. Hope you're doing good!
Yes dude! Love this song, and yes it's the last song on that album, such a good closer. The thing I love most about this song is you can listen to it like 10+ times and still pick up new things on each listen. Looking forward to future reactions. If you haven't check out some August Burns Red, their new album is amazing. Recommend The Frost or Quake to start with.
Love ABR! Can't really react to it though since I've listened to all their stuff. They've been one of my favorites ever since I heard the "Leveler" album. Always get excited around Christmas time to start rocking their Sleddin' Hill album!
Check out "And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope" by Ne Obliviscaris. It's an experience. Also, check out some more Epica. "Beyond the Matrix", "Edge of the Blade", "Crimson Bow & Arrow", and "Dedicate Your Heart" are great ones, the last two being covers from the Attack on Titan anime soundtrack.
Aside from the music aspect of this video (Not dissing era actually I would let Jesse do things to me most frown upon) DUDE YOURE FUCKING GOOFY HAHAHAHAHA I LOVE YOU.
Watching this makes me miss those brutal screams from the original vocalist, Garrison. Still dig the new stuff they're current vocalist J.T. Dude's actually a real homie in person lol. Also, I'm not sure how much you like metalcore but "Amia Venera Landscape - Empire" might be up your alley? They're pretty much a really heavy version of Silent Planet I guess.
You are missing out on my favorite album probably of all time Drift, you haven't truly experienced Erra without listening to at least some of those songs. Literally every song on it is amazing. The Hypnotist, Drift, Skyline, Sleeper are just a few song suggestions. You'd 100% love the whole album, should definitely react to a song, I'd watch the shit out of that.
Dementia is not a song, it's a journey!
The whole album is a journey. It's an absolute masterpiece.
This song is the most amazing piece of music I have ever heard

Dementia is not only the Best Erra song so far. It is probably one of the Best metal songs ever made. At least for me and probably a couple of us.
im late but every now and then i come back to watch people react to this song because this song is medicinal in how amazing it sounds, especially from 4:53 to the end. absolutely PERFECT.
Augment and Drift stand out to me. Always been my favorites and still to this day even with the newer stuff with which they are slaying
Best song by them period. My favorite band . Can listen to this a billion times and never get bored 🤘

Guitarist does the cleans, that’s the most amazing part. Jesse cash inspired me to start playing guitar. Air guitar just wasn’t enough for me anymore.
Keep it up for a long time, just try to play what you want to play slower if you can't do it at the right speed yet and it'll pay off !
Gives me insane chills everytime.

Potato Wagon No worries. Their hardcore yells do sound quite similar.
