We did a lot of research before designing our hummingbird feeders. One of our goals was to create a feeder that does not drip. We found the Hummingbirds tongue is 2 to 3” long, this allowed us to make a feeder the bird drinks from the top, preventing dripping.
Our blown glass Hummingbird Feeders are made using Borosilicate glass, this glass is strong, durable and designed to weather the outdoor elements. The detachable spout on the feeder makes it easy to fill.
Each one of our Hummingbird feeders is made one at a time and are a husband and wife collaboration, Bill blows the glass feeder and spout and Rae creates the handcrafted chain work the feeder hangs by.
The vessel itself is about 3” in diameter and holds about 5 oz of nectar.
Bill and Rae Grout are full time artists from Corvallis Montana. “We are science geeks to glassblowers”. They both have technical backgrounds in the high tech avionics industry but left the corporate life to live their dream.
Bill became a full time artist and started blowing glass in 1993 and Rae left the corporate world in 2002 to be with Bill and become a glassblower. In 2016 they began incorporating metal working, dragon attire and Steampunk designs into their glass art.

This is a design we did in house and had for sale as a print on demand graphic. I don't see it offered right now but we could put it back up.

These are beautiful Bill. Now that you’ve had them in use for a year, have you found they work and if the birds will drink from them? I only found one in your Etsy store.

I have made these for many years and they work well for us and many of our customers. Hummingbirds are not always easy to train though as they will remember several hundred places to feed and go back to only those places. To be honest we are almost sold out right now and it may be a while yet before we get to making more for the spring. We are very busy these winter days working on new things!
