You insulting the question about what is good about the caro kann, then being a pedant about "you don't need to know why an opening is good to be good at the opening" was so obnoxious. Get over yourself and just answer the question along the lines of "it's a solid and relatively easy-to-learn opening that has straightforward plans and decent piece development". You knew what the question meant and it is a perfectly valid question for a beginner to ask, not silly at all. People that are potentially interested in an opening might want to know the characteristics of it to get a feel for how it suits their play style before they invest a bunch of time learning it.
You'd think someone who is offering a course on the Caro would happily answer such a basic question in good faith rather than being a condescending douche about it for no reason at all.
Bro take into account he gets those kinds of questions 24/7, dont offer any value and he seems to be irritated from the get go.
He was also moderating + interacting with trolls on chat and its frustrating, it gets to him, dude doesnt seem to be a dick 24/7 so cutting him some slack might be an idea.
Immediately pinned lmao
Is it just me or does all hate comments have a rather weird pattern; no profile picture or weird 2000's name?
Dude pins people in his sleep, damn. 24/7 service
Ok?
i love how he puts enough effort to put time stamps in his videos
His editor does that but yeah

Does it really take that much effort tho

Every single time I watch a GothamChess video, it inspires me to go play chess but then I blunder 8 bishops
thats actually impressive, promoting 6 pawns just to blunder
@@feltheawesome5 maybe I am good at chess after all...
Hey chin up, its not an easy thing to do
Basically He loses a queen two rooks and two bishops for free. Equivalent to 8 bishops(24)+1
you could blinder the same bishop 8 times if your opponent doesn't see it either

yeah it's basically a tradition to pin stupid hate comments

You mean not to play chess before having a coffee in the morning?🤷🙄😂😂😂
For people like me with adhd I can't have coffee if I want to focus. Otherwise I get sleepy.
the best is to just resign
I've never had coffee for this reason
but he lost a random coffee-drinking dude from third country lol
This is the only thing I’m better than Gotham at.

Interesting thing I’ve learned being very new to chess is that, when faced with a new version of an opening I’ve not yet played or studied, I can oftentimes puzzle out the book/correct move if I think about it. I had one game recently where my opponent did some opening I’ve never seen, i was like “I’m not sure what to do... I guess this knight move is safe, defends blah blah” and it ended up being a book move LOL

Tbh, im not surprised you get hate, not because you deserve it, im actually a huge fan of the channel, its just you have a very provocative personality and when you consider how sensitive the internet is, you will always get people who dont understand different people. If you just explain to people that you arent being a dick and its just you cracking jokes and whatnot, people will let off.
Does he really get hate? I seen the likes dislikes count disabled and I wondered if and why people would be down vote spamming it.
well from the look of it you can assume gotham is the type of sheltered genius kinda guy so he isn't used to bad-mouthed by people

This video is the one thing saving me from losing my sanity over the fact that I've been waiting almost 90 minutes for a Domino's order at a store that is a 7 minute drive away.
He's not the hero we deserve, but he's the one I needed right now.
This video is long enough to sustain you for the next 100 minutes as well
Dominos is ass tho. Hopefully your order got lost, that way you don’t have to go through the torture of eating it.

Levy. I would like to say, please do not change your style. Like please. Lol. You do an amazing job and hella entertaining. You give the criticism that is necessary and also explains why that criticism exist. Do not let trolls take away from the success you are having. You are almost at 1 million subs dude. You are clearly doing something right. Continue to be great.
Yeah... for 12 year olds and edgelore incels...
As a mere 1000ish rated player I am super hype that I was able to see that rook move in the final game a while before white played it. Granted I was under zero pressure and never could have gotten to that point in the game against Levy, but I will take the small victories. Also despite how it ended, RedPanda should be super proud of that game given the almost 600 point disparity. If you read this RedPanda, good job! and great content Levy! hope you continue to do well.
*How to lose at chess*
"Hello guys and welcome to how to win at chess"
Day 64: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames.
Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.
Dm him on discord
There are endgames where you can be three pawns down in a opposite coloured bishop endgame and STILL be able to hold the draw, opposite colour bishops are almost always a draw, there’s nothing more too it the only thing you need to learn is how to hold a draw which you can find many endgame practicing websites online which is probably why he’s not wasting his time doing it. Sorry to crush your dreams sir
I think you can even hold 3 pawns disadvantage in some position

Whoever said the London is a bad way to *learn* chess has a point. Beginners who learn a system will often mindlessly play the same few opening moves, because they don't really need to respond to what their opponent does. It's bad if the goal is encouraging players to improve their opening knowledge or positional analysis, since systems consistently lead to similar positions. Learning only systems (especially only one system) won't make someone a great chess player, but learning systems as part of a wider opening repertoire is perfectly fine.
Who else thought Levy’s rating dropped 400 points before realizing he was playing rapid not blitz
