While I agree that the demo scene should be more alive in the US, they actually do have nVidia sponsored demo scene parties. Think it's called NVScene or something? Not sure though.
its sad that this institution is gone. Not a coder myself, but i admire the demos really. Why is there no competition for Linux anyway. I thought they're cracks.
@13iPwn37 Invtros are not really supposed to be technically impressive, they are supposed to run on as many PCs as feasible. This one is at least damn funny, i fell of a chair - twice - haven't laughed so hard for at least half a year. Of course all in-jokes, gotta be in it to get it. And i find the invtro for the last of its kind party which pays tribute to the previous ones a good choice.
So i need to come back to assembler programming to be old school again, i do, hate my job hate my life enterprise software development fucking java shit.
