I remember the first time I heard this, it was the night Frankie debuted it at the original Sound Factory on 27th, I had been living in NYc for about 6 months, hard town with no sign of much compassion for the fellow human being. Yet on this night the yellow lights washed the crowd which was made up of all walks of life, from ultra rich to ultra poor, black & white and every colour in between of the human race along with all types of beliefs were present under one groove. Suddenly this track hit and I witnessed 2000 instant smiles light up the room with utter bliss, no fighting, no hate, just LOVE and grooveynesss!! Thank you Frankie, R.I.P.!!!!

Frankie was the best. I remember these days. It was better than today. Going out to the place of the day was it. We danced, drank and woke up the few hours later for work. Good times..
A track that you can drive too and let go of our worries and enjoy the moments. When I was a kid in the early 90s all the older teenagers were listening to this music in the Summer on the radio and talk about the illegal raves in the country and brought tapes of raves back hone to watch them. I really miss the 90s and it was a great time for teenagers.
Man, this one RIGHT HERE closes the book, time to turn to the next chapter into another and different generation. Kids today will never never never understand this music, this vibe. I know my 2 little ones will grow up to this and re-live my life for me lol. Peace! Frankie K. Rest Well, bro. Your spirit is eternal.
i am old enough thank god to remember when Frankie played this at the Sound Factory in NYC and people just lost their minds....i had never witnessed a whole club in unison move to the dance floor and just release in ecstasy when this came on.. he had to sometime play it two or three times in a row .. never seen that before or since RIP Godfather .. job well done.. memories...
Barry Ratoff Man.. everytime i play this song it brings me right back and i am right there in the moment...i didn't really appreciate those days at the time .. but now i look back fondly to having heard Junior, Frankie, Larry and others who set the soundtrack of my youth.. :-)
Was there that night at the Sound Factory when Frankie Knuckles first played this. Yes, it was mind blowing and I knew then that that era was something to behold and appreciate because it would not return. I was a diehard at Sound Factory. Just to be clear Sound Factory on West 27th....
+nyc10031black i know exactly what u mean... the best era...this song.. Robert Owens i'll be your friend (and A.M. Blues btw) .. Jaydee plastic dreams.. take me right back then .. in an instant :-)
+johnnypooh3243 A.M. Blues - its workin' my nerves, and I just can't take it! - Congratulations, you are the only person I know who appreciates this obscure and fantastic track.
It does not get better than this. When I hear this one, I stop thinking of all the troubles, problems and other negatives, and just sit back and chill. I love "The Whistle Song".
mee too! this is what i posted above "I FOUND IT AFTER ALLL THESE YEARS SINCE I WAS A KID!!!! I was just going through this play list and it said whistle, and i noticed hmmmmm the song did have a whistle to it and what do yah know!!! MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!! this always reminded me of SONIC CD for my sega cd when I was a KID!"
Back then when we were younger, everything was so much easier. Almost everything was given to me. Now, i have to scrap bits and pieces of whatever i had, trying to get something done. Those were the days...
Just reminiscing: I am Chicago and House Music - proud to say I was a part of that special era and time, such fond memories. We love you always Frankie!!!
My all time fave song from the Godfather of HOUSE..your influence on House music will be truly missed..this song always makes me feel happy inside..and so I say..God speed Mr Knuckles R.I.P
ICONIC DANCE CLASSIC !!!!! - I GOT THE HONOR TO MEET FRANKIE KNUCKLES FROM MY NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE WEST VILLAGE, NEW YORK CITY BACK IN THE 1980S - THE 1990S !!!! - WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT !!!! - A FABULOUS DJ HE WAS AND A GREAT FRIEND OF MY MINE TOO !!! - RIP FRANKIE KNUCKLES
This song has been in my top 5 since I heard it on the dance floor many moons ago. It’s a staple because it lifts my spirits and keeps me in that ultra-positive zone… #GottaHaveHouse!! #ThanksFrankie
R.I.P. Frankie Knuckles. You were the stuff of legends. Thank you so much for your contribution to the evolution, joy, and beauty of House Music! Bravo baby!
RIGHT? Frankie was a milestone in trance and lounge dance. Not even that, Frankie your music will always have a special place in my heart and brain. Dancing till 6am We love you!!!!
God, the world's I explored on the dancefloors of NYC in the late 90's. I went places, with some of the best dj's and crowds....it was a holy moment in time, I knew it even then and said many prayers of thanks from the most tender places in my heart
Sometimes I go back to this song because maybe I want to hear this or that part of it, but every time I end up listening to it all again. Peaceful music. Rest in power
I was only 16 years young when, luckily, i discovered this, on a dancefloor as well. Nowadays, I listen to this gem and all its glorious house layers, through headphones. Such a timeless house masterpiece is this track, reaching to us now, over 25 years. And still, we whistle.....;)
Used to go skating at various rinks in the NYC area...good times, a time of happier days, 24 years later this is still a fun jammy. Driving fast on the highway, summer breeze on my face & hair at the time NYC was hoppin' ....today...I still kick it up while driving & listening to this though I am bald, older, I still skate, not bad for an OG at 60 yrs of age. Peace 2 ya who remember the way it use to be.
1991, REDZONE, NYC, David Morales DJing...When this track came out, he'd play this as the very last song of the night, 4AM, and we'd stay all night long, till the very end, place nearly empty, JUST to hear this on that phenomenal sound system and soak it all in. An unreal experience, I'll never forget it. If you were privileged enough to experience the club scene in NYC in the 90's, respect. It can never be duplicated. I'm still whistling all these years later.
I am 77. Listened to this song first time 3 days ago. I have now herd 4:54 6 renditions. All are remarkable. UA-cam what a wonderful resource. Outstanding piece of music.
@@walterbrander1268 Good for u. In year 2000, when I was 19, I noticed a woman with what appeared to be 11 or 12 year old daughters at this rave here in Southern California at 5am!!!! It's for all ages
@@walterbrander1268 While you're exploring the house music of the rave scene, you should check out "peace division back 2 back" here on UA-cam. DJs would play it at 6 in the morning when the party was ending
There is NO other song on earth that transcends time, race, age, gender, sexuality, and social status like this. Its a tune for every man and it takes you instantly to a better place
When I first fell in LOVE with house. Shelter 1992 NYC those were the best times of my dancing days. Bring those days back. Spending mornings at the club and eating granola and yogurt. Love NYC for that. We had a bit everything. We we're just dancers back then. RIP Frankie Knuckles. We Love you brother.
I absolutely love this instrumental piece. Wonderful flute playing.....takes me to a sunny open field...blue skys...run up a small hill and look over at the trees. Children playing, a table set with food out in the open, seniors, adults, children, and people getting along.
I'm 26 years old, i met with Frankie Knuckles music when he already past away, therefore, when i listen to this track i really think that i have the same nostalgic sensation of those who had the time of their lifes dancing with frankie music in 80's and 90's. That's the power of music! Goosebumps.
House is the feeling😮 Still foreva. Rave togetha, junga togetha, reggaea togetha, soul toghetha, hip hop togetha...be togetha and njoi musik togetha. Thank you all the producers ❤
I remember me and my daddy use to drive around listening to this song when I was little. Daddy whistling and I'm doing the running man in thr car seat. I'm in tears rest in paradise daddy and Frankie Knuckles
Tears to my eyes, miss you Frankie, we are so blessed to have your legacy's still here with us. Turn it up "Up there and show them what real music is."
As a kid I used to fly back in 2004 on United Airlines "TED" (Some expirmental offspin airline from United). There was an electronic station that would play this song and I always would listen for hours just to hear it at least once again. Glad to have finally found it 17 years later. Just a great tune all around.
Oh yes what a banger this is, i love it. The early 90's was a great time to be a teenager dancing to great house tracks like this. Frankie Knuckles was one of the best in house music. RIP Frankie.
Yes indeed. A close friend in DC surprised my partner & I with tickets to a mega session featuring Frankie Knuckles when this groove was released. We met him, and it was magical. We actually danced til the "break of dawn".
Seasons pass, years go by, but memories live on . They always return, and when they do, we relive them, and they are so sweet to recall what we experienced in this life.
Have a great memory of hearing Frankie open his set with this at a big beach party in Dubai a year or two before he died. I was so happy to see him play live for the first time. Sadly the idiotic promoters put him on first. This legend of a man was basically a warm up for acts that weren't fit to grace the same stage as him. I guess that's Dubai for you. Totally clueless about the history of house and the people who shaped it. House music isn't the same without him but he left us some great tunes.
think house.think frankie. for us old cunts on here old enough to remember the '86/87 period it was awash with luther vandross , rollys royce, atlantic starr ,col abrahams and fucking five starr , then you pioneers gave us a sprinkling of magic dust, that took us on a different trajectory. without you i might have been into fucking heavy metal or a goth, with an addiction to snakebite. anyway i digress, think' house','think frankie knuckles. epic times.another bit of your history dies
I"m 49 and relatively new to house. Hip Hop doesn't speak to me anymore. So Monique Bingham and Black Coffee are my go to jams when I need a bounce. I can't believe how good this sounds after 33 years. Today is 10/12/24.
YES STEVEN VEGA! Heaven has its biggest headliner now God called his name. may he rest in eternal peace and know pure love, peace and harmony. Godspeed my friend, we love you. #fkalways
The Flames that burn twice as bright sometimes burn half as long. If it wasnt for my kids i would have burnt out years ago 4 sure. Congrats to Dj Frankie Knuckles, House music lovers all over the world...the birthplace of House music, the former Warehouse Club in Chicago has officially been named a city landmark in Chicago!!! (June 23, 2023) HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG!!!🎉🎶🪩🎊🎆🎵
I was born in 1988 Grahamstown, a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. A gentleman by the name "Dj Happy" used to play this at Radio Grahamstown - the station that takes you to the future. Oh man, what a memory.
Dante Ross .... nice shout Mr. Ross. Is this the real Dante Ross? If so, that's a trip. Peace bruh. Your fingerprints are on some of the most classic hip hop in the game. Peace
robrien4 yes it's me and Frankie the few times I met him was so nice I really love this song and his aura. God bless his soulful making this and for being one of the greatest DJays that ever lived!
Man what a gem. Frankie Knuckles will not be forgotten for the imprint he left on this earth is to great to ignore. The godfather of house lives on forever.
December 2003! The first time I heard this song. It was a new beginning in my life: better work, new friends and a new love in my life. This song came through the speakers in my new work.
Frankie Knuckles
Frankie Knuckles
Cool just can't relate fully...But cool story
what a story, i feel you

johnnypooh3243 I remember the first time he played it and you are totally right. The place just fell into one mass of joy!!!!!!!!!
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made!!
Yes. And Art of Noise, Moments in Love. And, Santana, Written in Sand!
Well don't know if the most beautiful, but it's GREAT!!
I said it was One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made - I'm sure I have ur own ❤
Yes, Indeed!!❤
It does not get better than this. When I hear this one, I stop thinking of all the troubles, problems and other negatives, and just sit back and chill. I love "The Whistle Song".
I do to it's like a drug that's not a drug. It can take you wherever and whenever. Thank God for the 90s LG😅
The song takes me back to a better time, when I was younger, had less sense, was waay too naive and optimistic and full of hope and love.
i agree !!
mee too! this is what i posted above "I FOUND IT AFTER ALLL THESE YEARS SINCE I WAS A KID!!!!
I feel you.
Massively.
I love u Mrs Carroll! :) lol
Thank you, Godfather of House for your timeless creation ❤️❤️❤️. Gratitude ❤️❤️❤️

This song has been in my top 5 since I heard it on the dance floor many moons ago. It’s a staple because it lifts my spirits and keeps me in that ultra-positive zone…
#GottaHaveHouse!!
#ThanksFrankie
Sooo true!
This track always manages to bring a tear to my eye... epitome of beautiful sound! RIP FRANKIE KNUCKLES
This track always brings tears to my eyes. Such a beautiful record. RIP Frankie. WE MISS YOU.
I graduated high school in 93, I was into rap, rock, punk and then house music. Going to raves in the early 90's was the best time of my life.
Agreed raves in the 90s Chicago were some great nights
Sometimes I go back to this song because maybe I want to hear this or that part of it, but every time I end up listening to it all again. Peaceful music. Rest in power
I was only 16 years young when, luckily, i discovered this, on a dancefloor as well.
Nowadays, I listen to this gem and all its glorious house layers, through headphones.
Such a timeless house masterpiece is this track, reaching to us now, over 25 years.
And still, we whistle.....;)
The legend lives on through his music.
im from Venezuela...i remember when i hear that beautiful song...91. good times. good music...Frankie the father of house music...R.I.P.
+John923T I feel you on that John
+priscilla chambliss Nice to know Ms. Chambliss & Thank you ....ahhh how the memories come back. Enjoy life.
Wishin I could experience what it was like back then, i'm only 19! Trying to make the best of these days though ^^
Always make the most of what you are given! We DID have fun though....59 years young here
+John923T 60 is the new forty.
I remember the Redzone in 91
@@walterbrander1268
Good for u. In year 2000, when I was 19, I noticed a woman with what appeared to be 11 or 12 year old daughters at this rave here in Southern California at 5am!!!! It's for all ages
@@walterbrander1268
While you're exploring the house music of the rave scene, you should check out "peace division back 2 back" here on UA-cam. DJs would play it at 6 in the morning when the party was ending
The best by Frankie in my opinion🎶😗
IMHO One of the most important pieces of music ever laid down! I absolutely love this beautiful track.
One of the best songs ever. Rest in peace Frankie :(
I agree.
🙏
man, can't believe its been 7 years already...
this song should be the earth's anthems , so much feeling on this track, ty Frankie for everything !
ALONG WITH-LAND OF THE SUN--WALTER BEASLEY ........!!!!!!!!
There is NO other song on earth that transcends time, race, age, gender, sexuality, and social status like this. Its a tune for every man and it takes you instantly to a better place
There are many you just need to dig deeper (:
music personified
Lets hope so
It sounds similar to Paul Castle songs, ✨beautiful the music speaks for itself ✌🏽
Being pedantic but you say the song transcends gender then go on to say it is a song for every MAN. Just a bit contradictory that's all.
Good description of what is in store for us when God delivers us from this fallen world. Coming very very soon, don't miss the bus....
5.30 am London, a basement party and the DJ dropped this and everything changed, Frankie Knuckles R.I.P
Awesome man!
This song has so much while being so 'basic' Honest Joy and Freedom!! Wow lovely!
Did you people actually stop talking? lol 😂 yeah I doubt that 😂😂😂😂
I'm 26 years old, i met with Frankie Knuckles music when he already past away, therefore, when i listen to this track i really think that i have the same nostalgic sensation of those who had the time of their lifes dancing with frankie music in 80's and 90's. That's the power of music! Goosebumps.
Peace and love
House is the feeling😮 Still foreva. Rave togetha, junga togetha, reggaea togetha, soul toghetha, hip hop togetha...be togetha and njoi musik togetha. Thank you all the producers ❤
I remember me and my daddy use to drive around listening to this song when I was little. Daddy whistling and I'm doing the running man in thr car seat. I'm in tears rest in paradise daddy and Frankie Knuckles
I haven't heard this song since I was a kid listening to WGCI Chicago and I'm 36 smhl. Thank God for UA-cam
How have I only now discovered this gem? It's so happy and nostalgic, and we've only just met. Peace and love... brothers and sisters. ☮️☮️☮️
To my sis Evelyn; Diabetes took her at 36. miss her. We roller skated to Frankie. :)
+Robert Lopez , coincidentally Frankie's passing was diabetes related. Sorry for your loss. Hopefully, your message will bring some awareness.
No other house DJ / producer could do something like this. He almost singlehandedly invented Chill House with this track!
Yes indeed. A close friend in DC surprised my partner & I with tickets to a mega session featuring Frankie Knuckles when this groove was released. We met him, and it was magical. We actually danced til the "break of dawn".
He helped invented house music as a whole..
He did!!!👍

It’s really incredible… and the first time you hear it you become so happy can’t even describe it
Seasons pass, years go by, but memories live on .
Ahhhhh, the memories this song brings, Summer Days back in the early 90s at the block party's
Still rocking in 2023… god bless Frankie Knuckles and 6music for keeping the classics going…
think house.think frankie.
for us old cunts on here old enough to remember the '86/87 period it was awash with luther vandross , rollys royce, atlantic starr ,col abrahams and fucking
five starr , then you pioneers gave us a sprinkling of magic dust, that took us on a different trajectory.
without you i might have been into fucking heavy metal or a goth, with an addiction to snakebite.
anyway i digress,
think' house','think frankie knuckles.
epic times.another bit of your history dies
can't believe my mom was best buds with this guy !

Anthony Rodriguez wow so was my dad. he was heart broken when he heard about his passing. frankie made some good music

I"m 49 and relatively new to house. Hip Hop doesn't speak to me anymore. So Monique Bingham and Black Coffee are my go to jams when I need a bounce. I can't believe how good this sounds after 33 years. Today is 10/12/24.
I know that there must be a party that your mixing right now in heaven with your friend Larry Levan, may you both R.I.P....
I'm sure the kids are really tearing the floor up in heaven now!

The Flames that burn twice as bright sometimes burn half as long. If it wasnt for my kids i would have burnt out years ago 4 sure. I still play House tho :) Im listening to the Trax collection right now lol. It was the sound that united my generation. Lets take care of ourselves..and each other. peace

Taking you back huh?
I was born in 1988 Grahamstown, a small town in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. A gentleman by the name "Dj Happy" used to play this at Radio Grahamstown - the station that takes you to the future. Oh man, what a memory.
RIP Ken Batie! My man used to end his show on WCLK in Atlanta with this song. I miss those days and I miss him even more!! See you one day bro!!
First year in college. Nothing but house music on my Walkman. Ahh the good old days.

At that moment I felt a new happiness, tons of joy, hope. An yes,put a beautiful smile in my mouth. The same I have everytime I hear it!!!!
Smooooooooth! This jam never got enough air time in Maryland, back then. Some of the DJ's thought it was too jazzy. I love it.
