My wife Clara and I bought a H260 last fall and are excitedly prepping it for some of our own adventures. Very enjoyable to see your Vlog and get some ideas of what lies ahead for us!

I just stumbled across your sailing channel. Well done.
Cheers from a fellow Lake Superior sailor.
    Fair winds.

That was fun. Very interesting cruising grounds. Guessing mid September based on the foliage and temps. Been a while since I lived in WI, and my reference is Madison so may be off. Fall sailing has always been my favorite, and also the worst. Many times on the Chesapeake we went out in November on beautiful high pressure sunny days, only to "bash" our way back home the next day. The worst time we took a trip sailing north, staying the night in chilly but relative calm, refueled, then losing the motor due to dislodged sediment in the tank, and then sailing back beating into 20-25+ winds blowing from the south. 8+ hours of the wind whistling in the rigging and past your ears. Then of course docking dead stick. Oh the things that teach those hard lessons....

Early October- Yes, those lessons are hard to learn, but hopefully we do learn- thanks for the story!

The Apostle Islands have lots of great anchorages, great hikes, and beautiful scenery. I'm thankful that we've been able to take many trips to see them and though every trip is different they always leave us wanting to return

Thanks for sharing… Raspberry Bay is good for winds from the south. Have fun sailing this this summer.

Thanks, you too. - We figured out that I nice deep bay (like Raspberry) was much better than a tall Island and no bay to speak of - Those waves can get nasty.

Check out Marlin Bree's In the Teeth of the Nor'Easter and Wake of the Green Storm, both Lake Superior sailing treasures that speak to the strength of Mother Nature on this Greatest Lake.

Hearing the outboard rev reminds me of Hearing mine get quieter and looking back to see it running under water when the boat heeled over and wondering how long could it run before ingesting water ?

This was the first time I wondered if Orion was going to make it through the night. We've learned a lot since that day.
