This show, Power Rangers samurai holds a special place in my heart, my childhood 🟡🟢🔴🔵🟣 now in 2024 being about to graduate highschool, every once in a while I remember the show and come back to binge watch the classics!
So I recently rewatched every power rangers as an adult now and it's a bit cringey when you're watching it as an adult but it got better along the way cause as a kid you're just excited Samurai was one of my favorites growing up
It's beautiful Natasha, our childhood memories are filled with greatness and happiness. Let's remember it, watch the shows, and remind our kids and future grandchildren that our time was great (partially)
What I feel is, Samurai and Super Samurai had the best storyline, vfx, best costumes, zord combinations, emotions and the best villains. Each episode had so much to unfold. And not to forget, the secrets unfolded till the end of the series. It was a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. My childhood is alive here!
Right? I love the costumes, the swords, the spinning discs, the fact that every Zord combination just slowly builds on top of the previous one, and the fact that Xandred actually had a proper excuse for staying back at the base 😂 It's a really great show, and Shinkenger is awesome too!!
i watched power rangers since i was around 7 and 8 years old and stopped watching it since i was 11 years old but now im 18 and im rewatching them all over again cuz i js missed my childhoods shows and movies and stuff😢
I’m a fellow Sacramento California native, and guy who played the red ranger from this show, his name is Alex Heartman, and not only is he a Sacramento California native like me, he is also a graduate of the same high school, that I went to here in Sacramento California. And well, I honestly don’t know, when he graduated from the same high school as me, or even, which year or class, he was a part of. But I am dead serious, that he and I are both Sacramento California natives, and we are both also, graduates of the same high school, here in Sacramento California. And I graduated from the same high school as him in 2019, almost 5 years ago. But it’s all good and fine with me, as I am a proud Sacramento California native, and I am both glad and happy, that Alex Heartman and I are both Sacramento California natives, and that he and I both graduated from the high school I graduated from, even though I graduated in 2019, years after him.
I remember watching the show than a few weeks later being confused when an episode of super samurai came on lol. Over all this was and still is one of my favorite series to go back and watch some times
I watched this when i was 12-14 yrs old. I was so excited back then to watch. Now i am 23 yrs old watching all the eps once again with the same excitement. There was something special about Samurai. Among all the power rangers series I think i liked Samurai more and have watched every episode more than twice.
This was the best season I’ve watched but seeing it end was sad, kinda wish there was more season. If people really hate it, I wouldn’t care about what they say about it. Since this was my childhood to see how much it has aged but I’ll still love this season.
Honestly that cast had really good acting potential but it seemed like the directors kinda nerfed too much, that why they sometimes come off as stiff. Which is really dumb but what can you do. Nevertheless, I still loved this season for what it was, story was interesting, everyone had a character building moment, powers and abilities were awesome, and memorable villains. It’s the season that really got me into power rangers. And it just took off from there so I’m thankful that.
You can actually see their acting improve as the show goes on, which is really cool. They start to be a bit more natural, and they have a better understanding of the characters they're playing
This was definitely my favorite power rangers season, Samurai and Super Samurai. This show was actually the first power rangers show I watched and after watching this one I realized there were more seasons before this one, even after watching most of them, Samurai is still my favorite, I like their suits, power elements, storylines, villians (I think these villians were way better and badass in Samurai than the other seasons of power rangers) I liked Dayu and Decker, decker was more an anti hero, he didn't have that hatred for humans and wasn't completely evil like Master Xandred, he just wanted to lift his curse of being half human and half nilock. Master Xandred and Serator were both scary because they just didn't care, they kept plotting and scheming 😭😂 I love the theme song too. I loved all of it. The Gold Ranger was great too despite not having the same background as the other rangers, he was able to become one in his own way by being tech savvy and making his own morpher. Pretty cool.
Samurai has to be my favorite, a close second is probably a tie between Dino Thunder and Mystic Force. Tommy was goated in DT. And I believe the twists and turns of MF was executed perfectly, also I memorized some of the spells from MF
Samurai is my favourite of all power rangers. I absolutely love this show and I've started watching it again on you tube. This brings so many memories. And watching this video was a bit weird cos I'm used to their Hindi dubbed voices but their real voices are great as well 💙
Call it whatever it was but I loved it as a kid. Now when i reflect, I see flaws but you cannot deny that it was the entry point to Power Rangers for many people of Gen - Z or afterwards of 2010s. IT WAS ENTRY POINT FOR MOST PEOPLE of my generation when they were kids. For this reason, I respect Samurai.
Yep, I grew up watching power rangers and samurai and dino charge were good in 2010s, but Dino Fury suddenly just became so good and had a third season.
Power rangers Samurai has been my childhood. It was really exciting throughout my childhood but rewatching it at 17 is kinda cringe and yet it got one of the best (for me) story line. It also has a really awesome music and song, which is what i loved the most. Jayden is actually a really underrated Red ranger which is for me a bit surprising. Even though his acting wasn't the best, he actually was able to show the emotions of an actual Red ranger. Either ways, Jayden was and will always be my crush😆 (my first ever crush actually). Power ranger Samurai will always be my top 1 favourite show🖤🖤

My top 4 power rangers shows are number one power ranger samurai/super samurai number two is power rangers Dino thunder number three is power rangers jungle Fury and number four is power rangers mystic Force
Honestly if I had an introduction to Power Rangers if I stumbled upon it accidentally would've been Samurai cause this was new at the time for me, but my Dad started me at Mighty Morphin first (luckily), but Samurai was alright. All Power Rangers MMPR - RPM were great (except lightspeed rescue, wild fury, lost galaxy maybe) but bias Zordon storyline lover here
you should rewatch lightspeed and Lost Galaxy had it's flaws but it was a gold season you really should give those a watch. Those were during Saban's prime days when he gave a shit about the show. Also what is Wild Fury?! there was only ever a Jungle Fury and Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury
I didn’t think they were related, just because they share the same surname. Either the writers forgot that surname already exists or they were just lazy and just gave her that surname.
okay, so big hot take: Samurai is not that bad of a power rangers season, the main issue with super samurai is that once super samurai mode was introduced, the other rangers don't get to use it. Mike used it once Kevin used it twice Mia used it twice Emily used it once Antonio, despite the fact that yes, he can go super samurai mode and was the one that programmed the black box, never got to use it. Jayden uses the black box a lot more than people realize. I get it, he's the leader, but only when the situation calls for it does he pass off the black box, and super samurai also establishes that Jayden's family, particularly his father, was the reason Xandred was sealed in the neatherworld. After Lauren is introduced and practically strips Jayden of his leader status, he doesn't really have much of a purpose until his final fight with Decker. The show also has this habit of once they get a new thing (mostly either a new zord or a new mode) to deal with a situation, the rangers tend to spam it. the sole exception to this is the Claw Armor Megazord because the Black Box allows the Claw Zord and the Main Megazord to combine, that's fine. what is not fine is once they get the Gigazord, that's what they tend to rely on, and honestly it's finishing attack is kinda overkill.
Part of the hate is they claim it's a rip-off of Shinkengers but 1. They paid to have the shows adapted 2. EVERY Power Rangers is adapted from they're Super Sentai counter part 3. Samurai adds it's own stuff 4. The other characters were focused on, The reason why Jayden gets focused on alot it because he is the main character 5. Sabon added in stuff to make the show 20 times better with Showgun mode 6. For a show that's kid friendly it does get pretty dark and I sometimes wonder how it got away with a Y7 rating a nighlock literally steals Emily's soul There's alot of good I can say about Samurai, It's my favorite and no one can convince me otherwise
@@isaiahssportschannel1600 That's what I just said, I was defending this show for that because all of them are adapted from they're Sentai airing That was me calling out hypocritic on they're end, I don't think they're rip offs at all
hot take but jayden should've been played by an asian since the story revolves around his family being JAPANESE samurai warriors and they introduction literally said that power symbols passed down from parent to child. it would've made more sense for a japanese american to play jayden but alex still did a good job.
That is true, but if anything, they could've expanded more on the story when deciding on bring it to an American audience, such as adding a potential detail of the Nighlok threat going to Western World and now the Samurai families having to send descendants to fight the threat there over the span of a hundred years or more, maybe. That's just some fun headcanon on my part, but imagine how well this would fit towards having the American audience having a stronger connection to Samurai that way.
@@jetroauxilas9510 totally agree. there should’ve been a deeper connection with the actual samurai history and families. the lore wasn’t well executed and the one plot twist they did have (bringing Lauren) fell kinda flat too. it would’ve also made sense if they explained that Jayden’s ancestors came from Japan and assimilated into the western world which could explain why he was “white” and not really Asian. but again that’s just my opinion.
It’s irritating that the cast said that Najee has a positive personality and humour behind the scenes but the production did him bad. Making his character stiff, boring, lack humour and unlikeable as a character. I love the cast to have a second chance with the better production team and fix everything that the fans complain about.
