Still wanting to get one of these.
Edit after watching video: Absolutely love the way you walk us through the ‘how to’ part of the video.
No one else would have explained the part of what to do with a wobbly blade like you just did. Brilliant in your barebones approach to educating us. Very refreshing.
Ive looked at this type of tool for a long time. You are the first to explain just how they are used. Nice job. Thanks for sharing,
This is the first time I've ever seen something like this and I'm blown away by how clever and simple it is! Thanks for sharing
More I watch your channel the more I realize how old school i am with woodworking. Can't thank you enough for opening my eyes to the new tech which has made my life so much better. Thanks again for all the work you put into these videos.
No need to apologise! We are all very grateful to individuals like you, who take the time to share your experience.
I purchased the banggood version at the end of last year as it was on offer at £16 sterling. I have a sled for my table saw and just don't enjoy how messy cutting long rebates with a router is.
Thanks for the clear explanation on how to use the tool.
I didn’t know these even existed. I love the concept. I just moved from another town. I had a great workshop there. The new owners loved my shop and bought the house and my complete workshop. So now I have built an new shop at my new location. I am currently outfitting it with all new equipment and tools. The house on this property was built in 1973 and needs a lot of help. So I am doing a complete gut and remodel. These would be a great help when I start the cabinets and trim in the house. I enjoy your vids. Keep them coming. Very helpful!
This review is timely. I'm new to woodworking and was looking into this type of tool a couple of weeks ago, but opted to skip it for now because I wasn't sure how or if I would use it. This video helped a great deal. I've really enjoyed your videos. Especially those wood burning how to videos. Thank you.
Now here we are three years later. I just purchased this and it is February 2024. I love the bridge city tool. From the packaging the customer service and the products it is unbelievable. Thank you very much for doing this video to further educate me in the use of this great tool.
Fairly new to woodworking and I’ll be honest, I tend not to watch a lot of videos made by guys at least two decades my junior, but you have an excellent pedagogical style, I’ve learned a lot from you and thanks for the the first rate information
Love the way you present things. The information is direct with not a lot of fluff that I have seen in others. I am in the market for one of these but did not know if it would work for me and you took care of all that. Great job,
Thanks Jodi, for sharing another great tool in the workshop. Your channel is always on my list when I want something explained clearly.
Thanks for the video buddy! I likely won’t use specialty tools like these ever in my life, but it’s always great to see products that that make precision easier and I’m all for that. Keep up the good work and honest reviews.
I like the way you explain things, Jodi. I’m glad that I discovered your channel!
Thank you for all of the time and effort you have put into these comparison videos, I have learned so much from them.
As a beginner in the woodworking trade, I would be ecstatic to receive either of those.
Keep up the excellent work.
Love these comparison videos and the fact you are not pushing just one product over another based on brand(cost).
I purchased the Bridge City model years ago. It was pricy at the time but it has served me well over the years. I noticed that there are many "home made" versions of it that I'm sure work but the fit, feel and quality of the tool is what makes it satisfying to use. Thanks for the review.
Definitely something I can use. Simple now that you have demonstrated it. A cool tool especially for the “tool junkies “ in all of us. Thanks for all of your vids.
Unrelated topic but. I wanted you to know your channel is the best channel for showing and explaining Shou Sugi Ban. I have been all over youtube and I have to say your channel is the best on this topic.
I am late to the table as usual. Everytime I watch you work I learn something I did not know. I own both of these tools. I am not really strong. Both of them I use regularly for different work. However… I always seem to migrate to Bridge City Tools. They just feel better in my hands and I have BIG problems with my hands. You cant go wrong with either tool. I use my BCT without a doubt more often across the board. They just work extremely well. Bridge City Tools are without a doubt a forever tools. Once you understand your tool they are awsome. Thank You. This is the best video ever on how to use these tools. I laughed at what I did not know…..
Hands down my favorite new woodworking channel!
I vaguely remember seeing something like this some time ago, but I've never owned or used one. Excellent demonstration! The only problem with your videos is that you always tempt me to buy more tools! :-)
I love these comparisons. So much more usable information than reviews on websites that can't be trusted to be accurate.
I have the Bridge City model but I’ve never used it yet. Thanks, Jody, for the most clear, simple explanation/demonstration of how it works.
I have never seen a kerfmaker used before and I am impressed with the way it works..I have just started woodworking at the house as I have retired and need things to do and have a fairly nice shop set up, but it is fairly small....makes it easier to get thing done. One of these would make a very nice addition to my shop...enjoyed the video very much....Thanks, Elton
Such an awesome concept! I've been doing this with a dado stack and always measuring, measuring and measuring some more to get the cuts the same across all my pieces. This really takes a lot of the work out of it and looks like I can do quick slots without going through all the set-up time of changing to a dado stack on my saw stop for just a piece or two.
Hi i have the Hongdui and have used it a lot in the last year with no problems at all. Its quick and accurate. Thanks Bob
Great video, i spend so much time trying to setup perfect dados. These tools will cut the setup time down significantly while providing a more accurate and repeatable joint. Thanks for going through all the details and explaining the methods of use and then walking us through them. Definitely need to get one of these!
Love your temperament. Your ability to teach and make things easy to understand is great! Thank you
Thank goodness for You Tubers. I got the non Bridge City model and as easy as it appears to use a kerfmaker, It is so much easier when someone explains it. Thanks and well done. I need to check out your channel.
I always find your explanations easy to follow. Nicely done. I don't have this tool but it seems like such a quick, no measure tool that leads to a nice fitting dado. Please do keep up the quality videos.
Thanks for showing the multiple methods of determining the Kerf and use of the tools. Great tutorial.
I needed a tool like that this week as I was cutting dados.
I’m just starting out in woodworking. I love the comparison videos and ideas. Just started building the box joint jig. That will be a huge help. Always looking for jigs and guides to help. And then this video comes out. More help for me. I will look into these. This would definitely help make my next project a bit easier. Thanks for the videos! Also can’t wait till you have more hats in stock for sale. Themselves are awesome!
Great informational video. I like that you never rule out the less expensive option and try to convince people they need more expensive tools!
Loving these reviews. Great detail and explanations given in here. Great job, Jodee. Keep doing what you do!
love this latest series of instructions, you have been nailing the process, much appreciated !
I’m a newbie to woodworking and your channel has been a great source of information. Your content and presentation are very well done I have seen videos on making your own kerfmaker but did not know you could actually purchase one.
New to wood working. I really like the way you keep things simple in your explanations. I like how that tool can take the trail and error away.
Great detailed video explaining how to use these tools to a person(like myself) who has never used or even hear of those before. Thanks for the information. 😎
REally good. Lots of reviews where they show you the tool, but don't do anything with it. This was excellent.
I really like the way you present these different reviews. I have picked up some good tips as well along the way. Keep up the good work
Great head-to-head video. I ordered up a Banggood about a month ago. It arrived this week without written instructions. Thanks for the "how-to"!
I never realized how much I needed one of these, until now...
Thanks for the review, it beats having to measure especially with someone with glasses like myself. Been following you for awhile liking how you demonstrate the quality of tools/comparison.
Keep them coming!
This was the comparison I was waiting for. Had my eyes on both of these but wanted to see a side-by-side somewhere. Thanks, dude!
I learned about kermakers last year. Never knew much about it when watching vids. It's a really good idea with a very useful function
Hello Jodie. As mentioned in previous comments I own some Woodpecker/BCT/Bangood tools-measuring devices. However like you also stated on several occasions I do not have one in the same tool from two different providers so I have never been able to do my own direct comparisons. I have the Bangood kerfmaker such as the one you demo’d in this video. The fit and finish and performance to my eyes is equal to that of BCT. I have owned and used it for about one year now and so far the knurled lockdown knobs are working just fine. No slop or stripping of threads etc. it works flawlessly and am very happy with jt. I also have tenon maker and they work excellent paired together.
Another great video for the community
Harleymike/Chicago
The way you explained the use of these was really easy to follow. I will have to look into getting one. I knew there was an easier way to set up for these cuts. Thanks for the video.
Well explained, I’ve seen other demos and you made it much clearer as to how it works, and a few options for setting the kerf. I have a saw that doesn’t fit a dado and I’ve always struggled with getting tight fits. My method has been to take a scrap piece of the shelf and cut it thinner by the blade width, then place it to move the stop block and hope it’s tight.
I like the Bridge City kerfmaker. What many tool makers forget is the instructions on how to use the tool. Yes there are number of UA-cam videos to that show how to use the tool, however for me it’s always nice to see written instructions.
So many things to keep up with that's out there. Glad there's people workin to help new woodworkers get started
The first time I see this tools. Thank’s for this video. I realy like your videos because you get to the point fast, not to much taking.
Another great video, clear and addressing all the questions I would have. I had no idea such a tool existed. Just added it to my "to purchase list". Thank you.
I'm fairly new to woodworking. Still saving up for decent tools. I've seen these tools on youtube videos, and think they would be very helpful, as my dados need help!
Love your channel. I appreciate the way you explain things. Thanks for doing what you do.
I don't have one and never used one ,I do like a lot of bridge city's products. Your doing a great job.
Another great video been looking at getting one of these in the near future. Such a handy tool to have. Thanks for taking the time to do these tool
Reviews.
Dude if you knew how many test cuts I’ve made to make tight dados! Great tool, love your video delivery, clear and to the point. Really helpful stuff. I need this tool in my life!
Thanks for making these videos. It great to get to know some many different tools and how they work!
I love these comparison videos, they are really quite helpful. In this case it was very timely as I was considering purchasing one of these. Thanks!
I love your comparisons. I just bought a set of Woodpecker squares because of what I learned from you. Yes they are expensive but I buying something to use for the rest of my life.
I got this as a gift two years ago. I had no idea what it was. Thanks for the lesson. I’m going to put it to use right now 😊
I've never heard of this product until today. I really appreciate your review and instruction. Thank you
These tools seem to be so easy to use to bring much more accuracy to dado cuts. You convince me that I need one! Thanks for the explanation!
I just want to say… you have the best how-to videos!!
Mind blown. Thanks for the education. Your videos are improving my woodworking!
Awesome video. I had no idea what those were, but you explained them perfectly. Thank you.
I've been curious about these tools since the first time I saw them. Looks like another great setup tool for the shop for sure. Thanks for the informative videos
Seen these before but never looked into how to use them. This would be super helpful. Always great videos, have learned a ton through this channel.
Just learning wood working and you do a great job explaining different technics thank you sir
I am just getting into the woodworking thing after 36 years in the oil industry. Retiring at age 70, I will be needing more tools. Thanks for the informative vids.
Another great video. I have a home made kerf maker that I just used yesterday so this video hit the spot
Never seen a professional made kerfmaker! Thank you for your comparison.
Sweet....been looking for a tool like this. Your channel came up on my suggested videos I guess from searching for a tool such as this. Thanks. This has also brought me to your channel and now have watched a few of your videos - great job - now subscribed to be notified of future videos.
Another video in the books and another job well done! I have neither of the kerf tools, and would happily receive one. :) Keep up the good work.
wow, I have always seen these come up in search results on Amazon and could not envision what they would be used for. Great demonstration and explanation on their practical use. Will be looking to get one of these badboys
I love the "no measuring" part! To get such accurate dados is amazing!
I have never seen one of these before. It looks like a really useful tool. Thank you for the vids you do, I enjoy them a lot.
Thanks from west coast of Scotland for your clear explanation. Looking forward to receiving my kerfmaker soon! 🌎
Thanks for the demonstration and comparison. The video was interesting and informative. I have seen many different kerfmakers but still haven’t purchased one or made one.
Thanks for the demo. I'm familiar with Bridge City's. I've also made my own. Nice to have one. Setup is fast and accurate. Cheers!
For those that may not be able to afford a kerf maker, Pask Makes does a very simple kerf maker on his channel. Thanks for once again taking your time to compare the two items.
Thanks! Been looking at both of these, so comparison was real helpful.
great video, loving the comparisons. keep it up! always wanted to try the kerf maker. thinking about getting one!
You have delivered once again. I’ve seen a review for the one from banggood before m, but it was a stand alone review. Thank you for doing these comparisons they are very helpful. Keep up the great educational content
I have the Bridge City version that I bought a few years ago during a "flash" sale. I love it and have used it many times with perfect results!
That is a great tool. As a beginner wood worker, that would be very helpful. It’s been officially added to my wish list.
Starting my woodworking hobby late in life, 60! These sound like the perfect tool for beginners and professionals alike. Great vid! I especially like it wasn't overpowered by pointless music
Love your videos! I just spend several hours cutting some grooves and dados the long way.... these would make my life a lot easier!!
I didn't even know that such a tool existed. Very cool demonstration. Nice work!
Both appear to be excellent solutions to a real problem. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I've been doing woodworking for about a year now and just starting to do rabbits and dado's. for sure I found this video helpful and I have been thinking of making or buying a kerfmaker jig, but unsure. I've seen plenty of videos of these but found your video the better explain the detail use. I have attempted to do my own dado without the jig and let me say its not easy. Thanks again.
I didn't know this tool existed until today. Very clear explanation on how it works! I'd like to have one in my shop.
Wicked! I just finished building my first workbench with a portable table saw built in on one end. Crosscut sled is in the books to build next!
Great video, Surprising that there's some many tools for some many different things you wouldn't expect!
Great breakdown on 2 vendor kerfmaker products. Very informational and helpful as I was looking at potentially getting one
I never thought I would want one but now I do. Greatly explanation
Banggood has really upped their game in tools over the last couple years. Thanks for the review
Good review Jody. I saw this on the Banggood website and had no idea what it actually is used for. It may be a more helpful tool than I initially thought. Thanks
Thanks so much for the demonstration. Easily help me understand how these tools work.
Really been enjoying your videos lately. Thank you for the great content and thoughtful comparisons.
I own the Hongdu from Banggood. I agree with you that fit and finish, along with the presentation case were better than I expected. When ordering from China the delivery took almost 5 weeks. I am pleased with the results on the quick test joints I made. I, too, saw this product on "Hooked on Wood."
