Legit been waiting for this. also the military style drums on The Great War release something feral within me. I love when instrumentation and arrangement match with the lyrics and theme. it's very similar to the gothic style strings on Haunted from Speak Now.
Now that is came out that her and Joe broke up, I view Labyrinth as you felt your relationship was ending and you were braving to leave, “I thought the plane was going down” but then all of a sudden you feel love for them again, “Oh no, I’m falling in love again” and you wonder what changed your mind to stay, “How’d you turn it right around?”
Amazing video! Love how you explained these songs:) You do such a great job on letting us know what the song is overall about, but not explaining too much or getting too personal with it. Because as you said, music is up for interpretation and we all relate to it in different ways. And ofc I also love hearing it through Taylor’s perspective. Lyrically, my favorites are anti-hero, you’re on your own kid, karma, and dear reader. Love the meanings behind those songs.
Thanks for explaining all her songs so succinctly as usual! Always enjoy watching your videos and learning more about Taylor's songs rather than just listening to the lyrics on the surface level. Just wanted to share that I read somewhere else that High Infidelity could be about her masters as well, because of the definition of "high fidelity", and how she was treated poorly by the two who shall not be named. Very very interesting interpretations from everyone hehe - people are not wrong when they say swifties are detectives!
Just finished watching this whole series! This series was very helpful for a newly found swiftie like me. I am the type of person who likes to know the backstory of everything because it gives it more dimensions. Thank you for this
No wayy hello i used to watch your ag videos and actually watched the one with outfits relating to taylor swift albums recently, and then this popped up I was like 🤯 my sister is a huge swiftie but everytime I hear about the rep album I have always thought of your channel because for some reason I remembered that was your favorite LOL?? anyways that was a crazy coincidence 😭
