I would love a terraria/core keeper/path of exiles approach for this game, with a huge randomized world to explore, crafting, dungeons and stuff... Would be even more amazing
Trove?
I loved hammerwatch 2. i played entirely solo, but it was a sollid and fun playthrough.
YOOOO I LOVE HEROES OF HAMMERWATCH, I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE COVERING THIS (Heroes is so much better then the hammerwatch)
Idk if the coop had its bugs fixed, but I do know a ways back there was an update so everyone can use their own saved character instead of just playing off the host.
Hey, wander checked out HoH2 after seeing your vid I love that the paladin area heal skill actually works on the npc allies so potentially a army build is possible!
I'm so happy that "Wild Woods" has a Demo this Next Fest! I'll play the heck out of it!
The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells might be up your alley if you haven't tried 'em already
13:04 to be fair, if you and your friends were standing outside in the middle of the woods having a chat and all of a sudden you saw a giant ball of fire flying towards you, you could probably very easily discern that it came from the guy dressed like a wizard. lol
i used to love david eddings and mercedes lackey if you're into some high fantasy
Neal Asher writes some pretty great sci fi
Their naming scheme is simple but kind of breaks my brain sometimes lol. Loved HoH1 and will def try this out.
I didn't finish 2 but as a single player romp it felt like a good Baldur's gate dark alliance kinda game. I put in about 30 hours and it felt consistent in tone and had nice little secrets and rewarding exploration and whatnot. Dunno how multiplayer would go but I feel it'd probably quicken a lot of the map progressions? usually I'd need to do some form of kiting and more folks might let ya find a good setup to rush rather than kite?
I loved the idea of Heroes of Hammerwatch, but the start was just such a brickwall to me. I really struggled to get anywhere. I loved hte idea of building up the town from stuf fyou got from the mines, but yeah...
THIS however looks so much better. I'm glad their doing a second game and hope it turns out well. I've heard a lot of mixed opinions of Hammerwatch 2.
A lot of these games seem to suffer from the same enemy AI problems in that the only thing they know how to do is charge at you.
Ever since HW2 they actually added more AI enemy patterns, and they've also made their way into HoH2. For example, the wasps will rotate around you and try to keep out of melee range, and they also seem to avoid grouping up too hard. Some of the ranged mobs in the dark caves also predict your movement with their bullets, making them require a lot more precision dodging to handle them. There are also enemies that have multiple attacks, like the large goblin ogre guys that have slingshots and also melee weapon attacks. Some caster enemies lay traps for you and have projectiles that have a slight homing effect.
Another great video in betting. Time to watch this big boi
i kind of miss the dungeon crawling of the previous HoM, outdoor aesthetic just makes it harder to see things, too bright out too green
Does it have Controller support?
yup
Yes, he switches to controller halfway through...
@@Skenjinin his defense, it’s a long video, so that question wasn’t bad to ask haha.
Great content btw, I’m excited to see how it runs on the deck. Loved the first one
Yeah I was pretty keen for Hammerwatch 2 but was ultimately disappointed. I still played it a bunch, but it felt like they were aiming for a more methodical action rpg with story and it lost out on the great fast roguelike gameplay while not really being that great in it's new aspects.
wait really ? ...did they fix the first one? i hope they improved a lot of the huge issues...
The first one is in a fine state, but I think this is the fix.
Which issues? I feel HoH is one of the best games in all of Steam
Combat looks pretty easy
This is pretty disappointing, they dropped Hammerwatch 2 not that terribly long ago, and completely abandoned it despite its poor state (< 50% recent on steam). I guess they were just shoveling out another game. I can't see myself trusting this developer going forward.
It's been over a year. Not like it was super recent
I think you got one part of it wrong, they dropped Hammerwatch 2 because of its poor state. Still not great but it makes sense if they want to continue getting a better game out.
@@demenciuk I suppose, but the last patch was like 6 months ago. Of course I don't expect a developer to support a game forever, but you'd think they'd care with a game as poorly received as HW2 especially how good the first one was.
I dunno... Just... off the top of my head.. I think the damage over time isn't poison.. I have a strong inclination that its... whats that word.. some kind of effect that causes a feeling... like a burn maybe? ;)
I think the plant enemies give poison, there's also a few enemies that looked like they caused a bleed effect and one or two that caused burn.
@@frylad I believe thats correct.. burn, poison, bleed.. I love DoTs
Demo for a 1 year old game thats 45%/30 Days and 62% overall???
That is a different game
@@caturaebenton2886Yeah that's a game that they completely abandoned
