The problem is that a lot of the playerbase haven't touched card games, which while I can't blame them for not touching the genre, is a pretty vital part of this game
I can see a lot of people in this comments section are complaining about the rate of progression in this game, and I think I can say as somebody who has played a lot of card games in the same kind of style, bcs actually has quite a fast progression compared to most card games. Like after only a few days of playing it I already feel like I have quite a substantial amount of cards and I'm f2p.
bro I never knew card games were so scarce with rewards😭 the only experience I had with card games felt like I was showered with cards and resources (Genshin TCG)
@@swissbrick8780 I'm completely speculating here but maybe the reason card games may seem to not give you a huge amount of cards is to simulate the experience of playing a tcg with actual physical cards where collecting cards actually means going and buying packs from shops or trading them with people u know.
@@SlongestKongest The fact that there are way more cards in mtg is the reason you get more cards. You have to think about it in terms of what percentage of the entire collection of cards are you getting per day and I think in terms of that bcs is actually faster.
For me, the biggest issue I have with progression is how crafting is split into so many different types of tokens. Most of the tokens that I have are primary tokens, which doesn't help very much since all the good and cheap primary monkeys are given to you at the start. If I had military tokens, I could craft some mortars and be in an ok spot, but as it stands, I'm mostly stuck with the starting cards for my deck. I really hope the daily and weekly rewards are changed in a way that allows players to actually pick what tokens they receive rather than having it all be random.
@@spartan3554 The starting cards are some of the best cards and if you want to craft some primary for control, super monkey fan club plus dart monkeys seems like a pretty good strategy especially with sharpshooter.
One big thing I feel like the game is lacking is a ranked mode. A ranked mode would give players another goal to grind for and increase competitiveness. There also needs to be some balance changes with Cards and Heros.
The trick is making 10 accounts, rolling the random shop on each one, and whichever account gets the best luck you use as your main account trust me this works
Its a burn spell for a fifth of your health, like thats really good for the price. Its also not difficult to hold it until your opponent doesnt have defenders up
I see a lot of comments saying "it's fine every card game is p2w and grindy" and I disagree, just because a game genre has a glaring problem doesn't make it acceptable to just fall into it, they should at least try and break the mould.
@@ogalog The thing is, the statement off digital card games being grindy is only really true for something like Duel Links or MTG arena, and that at least has draft to get new player into it. Stuff like pokemon TCG live and Master Duel are really F2P compared to this
@@tame1773 But again, I don't think you should compare one card game to another. If this new card game has a problem (even if every card game has that problem), then it is a perfectly valid criticism to point out that problem
I can't believe they didn't learn from the launch of btd battles 2, it had the exact same problem of P2W and impossible grinding, and now they're doing it again
Sorry but that's just card games for you. And Card Storm is much more easygoing with the f2p progression. Also the game is only out for a few days, do people really expect to get ALL the best stuff in a free card game within day 1 when going f2p?
Every virtual card game is like this. So this doesn't surprise me at all. Take hearthstone for example, that game is extremely grindy, p2p, and its impossible to keep up being f2p because every few months has like 150 brand new cards. Magic the gathering arena is the same thing. I feel like they aren't going to change too much of the grind because they have to make money somehow
All the people i watch were extremely excited about it the game just released and it needs some more time. To get updates n stuff. I think we jumping the gun a bit here.
If had a nickel for everytime Ninja kiwi released a PvP btd spin off with pay to play problems on the first 3 days, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't alot but it's wierd that it happened twice
I understand people being a bit desperate to obtain more cards to play with but imo, this is one of the only card games that is pretty easy to obtain new cards if you are willing to grind a bit for it. The daily shop is really cheap for what it gives you and you can obtain a lot of cards that way. Edit: also, compared to a LOT of other card games in the modern mobile days, mainly comparing it to pvz heroes, this game has a pretty fast progression rate. Plus, you don’t feel like missing out on most of the other cards since every hero can play every card they want other than exclusive ones like storm of arrows and the prestige. Plus, this is probably the best time to make great progress as Quincy is by far the best hero in the game with his cheap abilities and aggressive play stile. FryEmUp’s cheap budget aggro deck can net you wins quite easily, which means more progression, which means more cards
The game really fills like some Alpha version that got rushed to be published, the main replayable PvE content is locked behind an irl money purchase, the rewards from dueling are abysmal, the daily rewards are laughable (60 monkey money for all quests, daily shop is 305 for everything, on mobile you can watch an ad for 100 MM and another ad to refresh the shop) and balancing is all over the place
quoting what another commenter said "compared to other card games even getting one card a day is a blessing", from what I understand the game's progression isnt slow in its genre, but is slow compared to other NK games, interesting to see how they'll balance this because they clearly tried to make it similar to other games.
I do really think this game should let you buy packs of cards as well to get them a bit a bit faster. Although I do understand that other games make it much harder to get rare cards compared to this one
@@swissbrick8780I agree the progression can be fine for most card games but the problem here is the lack of arenas/Elo helping balance out between P2W vs F2P/Ultra competitive so most players feel underprepared compared to lots of P2W who have stacked decks plus most aren't accustomed to card games
I've played in the beta for this game (Fully Playable), and it was super fun when you had access to all the cards and could do whatever. The game is still pretty fun, but the progression really limits what you can do a lot, and is incredibly sluggish. You have to play as Quincy every single match to even stand a chance against the early-game swarm if you don't have Jungle's Bounty (really fair card btw). Also, you're legit the first person i have seen unironically run the infamously terrible Nested Bloons since the beta lol.
@@geniuskhan1337 They are almost exactly the same as their normal counterparts, except each card only has one copy instead of 2. Their "On Popped" ability is very easy to answer by just dropping it to low health and letting it hit your face, stopping it from releasing its bloon, meaning it is really just a worse version of the normal card in every way.
womp, I was first but I was on Starbucks wifi which didn’t let me comment. I almost predicted this by saying “hope it doesn’t get the card battles treatment lol” on an early access video. Great video with some great pointers overall, people just have to be patient tbh. Btd6 was also in a similar situation in terms of balancing where it just needed a few balance changes to pick itself up. Ninja Kiwi are great developers overall, and I can see why they’re focusing more on in-game purchases since bloons games are shockingly cheap for how much entertainment you can get out of them; and I don’t see many people actually getting the purchasable stuff all too often aside from club in the battles games ( aside from UA-camrs ).
It definitely has a lot of potential to be a big game still as long as NK listens to the community and implements the necessary changes early. The longer they wait the harder it's gonna be to maintain interest I think.
All I’ll say is BTD6 had some pretty mixed reviews when it started especially from players coming from BTD5, mainly due to the feeling of lacking content. But Ninja Kiwi listened and kept fixing and adding WAY more content to the point where it’s now one of my favourite games ever made, period. I have pretty good faith that they’ll listen and keep improving!
At least in this game, the good cards are not that expensive, like pink is op but they gave you 2 after the tutorial. And they should make tournaments with youtubers to hype up the game and comp aspect
In my opinion the largest issue is progression, then the fact there are 40 cards per deck making progression even slower and makes the game feel even more like rng
I got to a late game match (both of us had like 3 cards left in our decks 💀) and I learned the hard way that they essentially force the game to end by stunning all your monkeys and spawning two pink Bloons for your opponent. This means that if you play second you will most likely be forced out of the game. I know getting this late is unlikely, but having the game decide the victor like this is very uncompetitive and something Ninja Kiwi has a problem with (EX: Battles 2 only lasting 40 rounds.)
I went super late game too and found out that you lose if you run out of cards. Thankfully it was my opponent who kept drawing extra cards who ran out and lost lmao
1:46 actually as someone who played the beta, no, you don't get access to cards- in fact the current starter loadout is SMALLER than the default loadouts from the FIRST beta.
1. Not many people like card games like bcs, pvz heroes etc. Even isab said he doesnt like these kinds of games but will still play this because it requires math or something 2.Progression is slow and p2progress but the same can be said to pvz heroes which is the most comparable card game and other bloon games, like battles 2 you can pay to get every monkey and every hero but you dont automaticaly win with them samw fir bcs you can get like an sun temple but if you dont kniw how to use it it wont really be helpfull to you 3.And also you are not meant to get everything in like a week ( not counting paid offers) if the game gave you everything imiidetly it would be boring and even less people would play this cause there wouldnt be anything you aim for to get, you only play on your will (like always) and if you dont have anything to do/aim for it gets boring and repetitive quiczkly
All of your points are terrible. Just gonna skip over the 1st cus it’s irrelevant. 2: Its not fun when it takes an entire couple weeks of playing just to create one deck, then you are out of resources, and the grind restarts. 3: no one said anything about getting everything immediately, but progression in a game BASED ON PVP should not be this slow, plus even if you win a game (which usually takes over 20 minutes), you barely get any rewards. Overall, bloons card storm is an absolute mess right now that needs to be fixed up if it wants its player base to stay.
@@temperaturecheckidk what kinda deck your running, but my games run 5 to 10 minutes max. On the point of progression, idk what kinda game your playing but i get approx. 3 uncommon cards per day, with 5 battles in a day. This is more than enough to get a good budget deck running in a week, which can further boost ones winning rate and resource collection.
It is pay win when u can buy tokens for good cards like costing thousands of them while f2p dont have anything so u basically have high chance losing to them meaning they technically paid to win
@@temperaturecheck sometimes u get no rewards for winning because u get 0 xp for levels because of some anti xp farm cheat by like going against alt and surrounding ao yeah if gsme ends to fast no xp making leveling up for rewards so slow so u literally not able end game to fast or no xp
the random cards you can get in the daily shop is suuuper useful and I've never had a problem with p2w so far and I've played for 76 hours including the beta.
The biggest issue is it lacks a ranked mode to progress in. I've had plenty of close games and impressive wins/losses already. But I would love to have something to build towards or just have my wins and losses tracked on each build I've crafted so I can see if they're working or not.
Honestly, I haven’t had much of a problem with things being pay to win in my experience. I’ve won a few games against jungles bounty without spending a cent on the game. I definitely think the progression needs to get sped WAY up, though. Especially when playing defensively, games can take forever and when you finally win you barely get a third of the way to the next level. Free to play isn’t bad at all, and I do support ninja kiwi including purchases to offset the huge value you get for free, but it still needs to be reasonable to get better stuff without paying for it.
>download new game >play tutorial >decide to play some story mode before multiplayer so i can get used to the game >(story mode costs money) >lose interest forever
Aside from the progression system, I think they should have made more than 4 heroes before release. This game needed more time in the oven. It has some good ideas, but it's just not done.
@@temperaturecheck yeah ppl i gone against have such expensive cards costing thousands some even had a 15k one the sharp shooter they 100% brought that plus u end up having worse cards making it easier for them making them win aka p2w they 100% brought tokens they rly should be level lock on cards before u able craft them
One game i played against that magic hero she deleted my super monkey for free with the ability. but I still had a full 500 hp Moab that was going to kill her next turn, but she had a shield for 4 gold that with the magic hero a card can give you a shield that cancels out all damage for the next balloon so she blocked the 500 dmg moab. Then next turn i had another moab for 500 hp and 3 other 100 hp normal bloons then she killed my normal bloons then she spent another 4 coins to block the Moab with a shield. So that magic hero can spend 8 coins to block over 1000 in damages in 2 round, and can delete your super monkey for free. I lost so badly with a really good hand I died with -500 hp and the magic hero was chilling with 480 hp and another Moab on its way after I died
Well, battles 2 was a flop when it came out, but ninja kiwi actually improved the game to make it a pretty decent game. All I’m saying is that if they can save battles 2, they can save card storm
I did the open beta, can confirm we didn’t get all the cards. But I do agree, I spent money bc I just did a bunch of chores and was hyper, then as soon as I spent my tokens and fun to play cards and not good ones, I couldn’t get ANY tokens. I love the game, but even as a pay to play player there needs to be more progression.
On your first point of p2w, I really don't think that's the case as I have a 3-1 win ratio and I haven't spent a dime. I think the top comment is a good reasoning for this, as I do play several other card games.
Does NK ever learn? They gave the game to the youtubers to test, but gave said youtubers all the stuff, and so they never realized the progression was way too grindy until it was too late. You'd think Battles 2's disastrous release would have made them realize this, but nope :/
I actually play card games (mainly YGO, some Pokemon, little of MTG and Heartsone) so ill give my takes. The progression for a digital card game is sloooooooow, like it's quite similar from what ive played in Duel Links and MTG arena, but at least that has draft and other alt formats. Compared to Master Duel and Poke TCG live, its so far behind its not even close, they really need to pick this up. Another question how they will handle a forbidden & limited list (the limits of how much you can play of a card, if at all), and erratas (changing card text). If they're gonna treat this like an actual Tcg, i wonder how a player base, that has never played one before, might react to only being able to play cards they spent weeks getting at a single copy, if at all. If they just decide to go for a errata route, this could turn off people who play tcgs as constantly errating cards could make the seem like a "illegitimate" tcg. Power creep is another thing to consider. There's already cards that are just worse than others 99% of the time (like moab strike being a worse pink bloon 99% of the time) Alt formats, like draft, highlander, or other possible gamemodes could spring some life into this, but the game kinda feels empty currently. Edit: I also wanted to add the fact that people might struggle to get in a card game because they're just not good at or familliar with them. I see a big chunk of the playerbase saying they're struggling with early bloons. Ive managed to build a list that gets around those rushes, but other may struggle with deck building, which could lead to a unpleasant new player experience
There's no transparency how the matchmaking works, if there even is one. But if free players are intentionally getting matched against paid players, that would not just be bad, that's scummy. Hard to say since I've played so few games and don't really know the % of players that bought the founder's pack
There's definitely cards that are overtuned, and the starter decks just aren't very good. I do think on some level, the meta hasn't progressed enough for people to totally tell what's good or bad. People just aren't able to experiment with counterplay because the progression is dreadfully slow.
Theres a big problem with the starting cards being so ungodly weak compared to the meta cards, stuff like jungle bounty completely negating poke damage, leading it to be used in every deck possible, ive seen Quincy, gwen, and even amelia use it in completely unrelated decks. Then just like you mentioned, you can insta win/lose by getting 0-2 gold bloons and the other player not getting any defense.
I think this game's biggest problem is its onboarding. The first few games are not going to be fun, and when a game is f2p a lot of players will leave after those first couple of games if they dont hook the player.
Nk is very good at balancing games and having a fun gameplay loop, but they are god awful at handing out rewards. Its suspicious how much they fail at giving the players what they want or deserve. Its even more surprising as they beta tested the game but only tested the actual gameplay and not the rewards, which they shouldve thought about after btdb2. I dunno man, i just hope NK gets their shit together, this is definitely a really fun game but everyone only plays btd6 and hates everything else.
Yeah this game is just not it right now. Which, to be honest, really surprises me: this dev team have basically done nothing wrong in the past 5 years and the game had so much potential as well
my first round in this game was against someone with cards like the sun god temple which he was able to place and i would have 100% lost but i am pretty sure that me dragging this out to turn 40 (my 2 braincells were working super overtime with that one) made my enemy relize that i am a newbie and basically have no chance to win so he conceded to let me win. You just sit there with the starter cards for 10 rounds until you unlock a few cards that barely change your deck
Round 40 is absolutely insane lol that sounds like a record, and I've played 70 or 80 games and never even seen the sun God card yet. That sounds insane!
@@PhenomixIn case of playerbase yes but battles 2 was way mire hyped, everyone was talking about it and thats why people left quiczkly there, here not many people have even heard about this game so less people leave, and in percentage i think battles had a worse start, progression was also very slow
Honestly, I don't see the progression as a problem. I feel like you get enough early progression rewards, and there isn't an unreasonable amount of cards to unlock for how much daily rewards you get. Without paying, I managed to unlock the new hero (costs 2000), and have been happy with the rate my deck has been improving. The main problem I see is a lack of reward to grind past the daily rewards, due to a lack of rankings. Not being able to play a variety of decks may be boring for some, but the game would lack longevity without the card grind.
The issue about card crafting is feel is quite hyperbolized. While you cant get every card in a week, you certainly can in a month or 2 with active gameplay. This is way nicer than most card games, and the starting cards and uncommon cards are not bad at all, with many being essential and some of the best, like yellows. Yes some cards are very unbalanced, looking at jungle druid, but you can’t expect a perfect balance on the first few days. Also, most complaints about cards like pink bloon are kinda bull since the whole point of it is to be a win condition. Many times you cant use it because of tacks, and i think its pretty balanced. Its definitely not perfect, but most definitely playable and (for me) fun.
I understand your perspective for sure, I've played the game more than most people have myself with 10+ hours. But I do think it could stand to have a better progression system.
@Phenomix Thats is one point I will admit to. Having to craft everything in card game is nigh unheard of, so a secondary or supplementary system in addition to the game is probably one thing I would say needs work on.
The problem i see is that progression isn’t as breakable as it is in, say, VTD6. There’s no “harder map” that grants bonus exp for playing on, and game time is inconsistent, meaning unlockables are not as rewarding. I feel like having a price tag would have been smarter than being free to play and then halving all store prices. This alone would have made the progression at least feel better, because now everyone pays to get in, and paying for extra is like theme park fast lane pass.
Okay let's actually be fair, it has twice as many players aa BTD5 which is 13 years old and 3% as many players as BTD6. This launch hasn't been very successful
it's a PVP, new game if it doesn't have high players at the start then it's gonna stay dead, since people start going "is this game dead? it only has 400 players"
if you played the beta test you didnt get all the cards. NK said that they were going to reset the data when the game releases, and they did. I was one of the people that got the testing version, and the only thing that you get is a exclusive card back.
1:36 I think this is actually also a major fault. What got me into BCS was the idea that it was significantly less grindy/P2W than other similar card games since in the beta there were plenty of cards unlocked at the start and youtubers already have most or all now. Obviously i didnt expect it to be just like the beta but this was even worse than expected. Also while its just be because of the cards everyone starts with it is kinda sad that Quincy is realistically the only good hero unless you want to spend money to make a deck around another hero.
Honestly the game just doesn't feel complete. There are too many UI bugs, there are too many currencies, and the menus are very lackluster. I think the game has potential but released too early
I feel like a super easy fix for the progression would be something me and a lot of other ppl suggested which would be to make all the tokens 1 token. Having this many slows down the progression, forces you to craft certain cards and having a milion different currencies is just annoying af. If they really want to have multiple types they should just seperate them into monkeys, bloons, and powers, but any more than that is just stupid
If you spend the monkey money in shop on the random cards you can get 3 cards each day + tokens I earned enough Mmoney to buy them for the next 5 days already. That gives me 15 new cards + i am able to craft a decent amount aswell. Just dont spend the monkey money oN new hero’s and it should be fine
Everyone complainging about a game that came out two days ago. Let them have some time to add stuff. They can easily balance things and will do it whe ln a card is too good
I love almost everything Bloons, but I have absolutely zero interest in this game. I've watched a few videos which were interesting enough, but I don't think the gameplay style is for me
Think you meant "they give you a brain" and I agree, they make you think differently and it's interesting trying to build a good deck. Just wish new cards were easier to unlock!
The balancing in the game feels strange and the normal playstyle that a lot of the BTD community has, doesn't really carry over. I feel like a lot of the lower reviews are from unhappy people who this game wasn't really made for, over time the reviews will likely get better.
What you see as the worst case scenario, I see as a very fortunate timeline. No, Ninja Kiwi will NEVER recover, Bloons Card Storm will be canned before the first major update, and all future NK releases will be shovelware garbage. Why? Because the rich, greedy, and evil succeed, whereas the poor, generous, and good fail. It's the law of the universe.
Guys guys be honest Every game they have realeased past 5 has been bad at the start (Maybe not pop but who plays that?) And what has happended everytime? They got put into a good or at least tollarable state So just let ninja kiwi do there thing and remember More awsomer -ninja kiwi 2024
It's a fun game just ninja kiwi just has such terrible monetization for every game except for btd6. you have to buy in and then keep buying to keep up eventually you might be able to get ahead of the curve but it sucks that it's part of the process. just charge straight up for it and give you like 10x as many resources or something cause right now it's kinda miserable
The BTD games in general are amazing but their other games tend to leave more to be desired. People forget when everyone hated Battles 1 because it added toxic powers
@ yeah you’re right. The video felt more like your opinions on what should change to help the game rather than what the title led me to believe. Hope that didn’t come off too rude, cheers mate
I am on a 11 win streak rn f2p new to card games, people just give up to fast, I saved up for obyn figured out a strat that works and it feels like I am p2w, this game IS p2w but it is very playable, my biggest problem with the game is how hard is it to get cards and how little cards there are, every game my enemy has the same deck because no one can afford better cards
I'm glad you found a strategy that works! I just learned the nested bloons are terrible so I removed them from my deck and now it seems a lot better, ill be testing that out today
Why is NK flopping everything they touch lately? I may get a lot of hate for this but I feel like a lot of people are still coping hard about BTDB2 and forcing themselves to try to enjoy the game, even after so long. Maybe the same will be happening with this new game too. I haven’t kept in touch much with BTD6 but from what I heard, their newest updates aren’t that bright either. Haven’t they learned anything from their past mistakes?
I don’t like battles 2 but I loved battles 1, this game is really good though, it has good gameplay and strategy mechanics. The only issues are balance and progression, both of which can easily be solved
Not to mention that the game doesn't have a good progression system ,an easy way to fix this would be just to add different card packs yes I don't mean premium packs because card packs are an essential for any card game to have ,them not having that on launch really baffles me
Yeah they need to add card packs for Monkey Money and have a way to convert tokens into MM imo. Rn you can just buy a common, uncommon and rare card which isn't even always a card, sometimes it's crafting tokens
i have played card games before and love it but the lack of content and locked content is what keeps me away. i know it‘s new and all but there is just way too little to do
The problem is that a lot of the playerbase haven't touched card games, which while I can't blame them for not touching the genre, is a pretty vital part of this game
That's definitely important as well and I was thinking the same thing, NK's fans aren't necessarily fans of this type of game

@@nobodyuwu3970then dont make a card game when you know your community despises p2w garbage! Not difficult...

If had a nickel for everytime Ninja kiwi released a PvP btd spin off with pay to play problems on the first 3 days, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't alot but it's wierd that it happened twice
Is that battles 1 or 2?
@@H20ZTS you mean pay to win?
@@NickFury-i4b pay to play problems cause even the p2w players are complaining that it feels unfair to have an advantage :(
I understand people being a bit desperate to obtain more cards to play with but imo, this is one of the only card games that is pretty easy to obtain new cards if you are willing to grind a bit for it.
I feel like they should have reconsidered the fact that you can only get like 3 cards per day without the absurdly resource intensive crafting system
quoting what another commenter said "compared to other card games even getting one card a day is a blessing", from what I understand the game's progression isnt slow in its genre, but is slow compared to other NK games, interesting to see how they'll balance this because they clearly tried to make it similar to other games.
Fuck Jungle's Bounty. Any time I see it, I know I'm gonna lose
I actually thought the nested bloons were good and the crazy part is I actually had a good win rate using them 😭
@Phenomix wait, how are the nesteds bad?
I'm not that much of a PvP player, but was happy when they announced PvE content, and then sad again when I saw what that content actually is
All I’ll say is BTD6 had some pretty mixed reviews when it started especially from players coming from BTD5, mainly due to the feeling of lacking content. But Ninja Kiwi listened and kept fixing and adding WAY more content to the point where it’s now one of my favourite games ever made, period. I have pretty good faith that they’ll listen and keep improving!
Thats what I'm really hoping for as well!
At least in this game, the good cards are not that expensive, like pink is op but they gave you 2 after the tutorial. And they should make tournaments with youtubers to hype up the game and comp aspect
I would definitely love to see those tournaments
I’ve played a fair amount of car games in my life. So I love the idea of this, but I will admit I got a bit confused about how to play.
This game has a lot of potential, I just wish progression was faster, and that Jungle's bounty wasn't so OP
Deckouts exist in literally all card games dude, at least this one is funny
@@thalezito-4990 I wouldn’t know and I thought it was hilarious too lol
1:46 actually as someone who played the beta, no, you don't get access to cards- in fact the current starter loadout is SMALLER than the default loadouts from the FIRST beta.
1. Not many people like card games like bcs, pvz heroes etc. Even isab said he doesnt like these kinds of games but will still play this because it requires math or something
2.Progression is slow and p2progress but the same can be said to pvz heroes which is the most comparable card game and other bloon games, like battles 2 you can pay to get every monkey and every hero but you dont automaticaly win with them samw fir bcs you can get like an sun temple but if you dont kniw how to use it it wont really be helpfull to you
3.And also you are not meant to get everything in like a week ( not counting paid offers) if the game gave you everything imiidetly it would be boring and even less people would play this cause there wouldnt be anything you aim for to get, you only play on your will (like always) and if you dont have anything to do/aim for it gets boring and repetitive quiczkly

This game kinda reminds me about Bloons TD Battles 2
The launch is definitely similar so far!
With Wolfy playing this, this game will be fine.
This is what I call "lack of Fry Em Up" issue
Then I watched his gameplay, and oh boy...
This game needs an advanced tutorial too.

Sbmm in a bloons game before btd6 is crazy😭😭💀💀
Pink balloon is a ygo moment fr fr
I swear every ninja kiwi game is cursed to have a terrible release (bloons td6 bloons td battles 2 and now bloons card storm)
Yeah it does seem that way for real lol, hopefully this game is like BTD6 and ends up coming out successful
The biggest issue is it lacks a ranked mode to progress in. I've had plenty of close games and impressive wins/losses already. But I would love to have something to build towards or just have my wins and losses tracked on each build I've crafted so I can see if they're working or not.
I'm definitely waiting for that as well
Honestly, I haven’t had much of a problem with things being pay to win in my experience.
Yeah I mean if you compare this to Bloons Monkey City, which is also free, the difference is night and day in terms of the progression system
What i actually hate is that when opponents surrender i get nothing, no exp at all
I didn't know it did that, that's messed up genuinely. Surrendering or quiting the game should just count the same as a loss
>download new game
>play tutorial
>decide to play some story mode before multiplayer so i can get used to the game
>(story mode costs money)
>lose interest forever
Winning
dont give rewards
I know right? After winning 50 games I've gotten very little
Aside from the progression system, I think they should have made more than 4 heroes before release. This game needed more time in the oven. It has some good ideas, but it's just not done.
Yeah it definitely is lacking some features it feels like
I agree, it has a way to slow progression system and is to luck based/pay to win
reasonable arguments and great vid!

I'm really glad other people see my perspective on this, hopefully NK listens to us and addresses these issues sooner rather than later
BREAKING NEWS, A CARD GAME IS LUCK BASED
Its more pay 2 progress rather than pay to win, if you dobt know how the game works overpowered catds wont help you

@@temperaturecheck yeah ppl i gone against have such expensive cards costing thousands some even had a 15k one the sharp shooter they 100% brought that plus u end up having worse cards making it easier for them making them win aka p2w they 100% brought tokens they rly should be level lock on cards before u able craft them
nk is a good dev team i trust them
One game i played against that magic hero she deleted my super monkey for free with the ability. but I still had a full 500 hp Moab that was going to kill her next turn, but she had a shield for 4 gold that with the magic hero a card can give you a shield that cancels out all damage for the next balloon so she blocked the 500 dmg moab.
That's genuinely horrible I would've been so mad after that game lol. I didn't know how broken the Amelia is right now
People are mad that progression is slow? This is the first card game where i could get a decent deck day 3 as a f2p and i'm still upgrading that deck
It’s crazy that they learned zero lessons from BTD Battles 2
Well, battles 2 was a flop when it came out, but ninja kiwi actually improved the game to make it a pretty decent game. All I’m saying is that if they can save battles 2, they can save card storm
Yes the 2 main problems are that you need to pay for pve and chashs
I did the open beta, can confirm we didn’t get all the cards. But I do agree, I spent money bc I just did a bunch of chores and was hyper, then as soon as I spent my tokens and fun to play cards and not good ones, I couldn’t get ANY tokens. I love the game, but even as a pay to play player there needs to be more progression.
On your first point of p2w, I really don't think that's the case as I have a 3-1 win ratio and I haven't spent a dime. I think the top comment is a good reasoning for this, as I do play several other card games.
"(btd6)is this salvageable" sad moment
There's already cards that are just worse than others 99% of the time (like moab strike being a worse pink bloon 99% of the time)
Alt formats, like draft, highlander, or other possible gamemodes could spring some life into this, but the game kinda feels empty currently.
Ninja kiwi, give us bmc 2 and our lifes are yours
There's no transparency how the matchmaking works, if there even is one. But if free players are intentionally getting matched against paid players, that would not just be bad, that's scummy. Hard to say since I've played so few games and don't really know the % of players that bought the founder's pack
It really puts all those posts during development about how they are gonna try to make the game f2p friendly into perspective
Aged like milk I guess
It feels like an alpha it's a good game but there is nothing to do.
Yeah I think that's one of the biggest issues for sure
I think this can be easily fixed if they add card packs or something similar, them being free for playing
I think this game's biggest problem is its onboarding. The first few games are not going to be fun, and when a game is f2p a lot of players will leave after those first couple of games if they dont hook the player.
They definitely need do some balance changes like jungles bounty as that's bit broken
Hopefully NK will listen about that
Nk is very good at balancing games and having a fun gameplay loop, but they are god awful at handing out rewards.
Bloons tower defense battles 2 when it was released it was at the Same spot card storm is now.
Yeah this game is just not it right now. Which, to be honest, really surprises me: this dev team have basically done nothing wrong in the past 5 years and the game had so much potential as well
But then again, ninja kiwi is known for having shitty releases in their games.
I completely agree
I generally like the game, however it needs some balance and more progression
Like card packs! And more rewards from doing missions
my first round in this game was against someone with cards like the sun god temple which he was able to place and i would have 100% lost but i am pretty sure that me dragging this out to turn 40 (my 2 braincells were working super overtime with that one) made my enemy relize that i am a newbie and basically have no chance to win so he conceded to let me win. You just sit there with the starter cards for 10 rounds until you unlock a few cards that barely change your deck
Round 40 is absolutely insane lol that sounds like a record, and I've played 70 or 80 games and never even seen the sun God card yet. That sounds insane!
It definetly was AN experience
Battles 2 all over again
I could be wrong but isn't this even worse in terms of the playerbase?
Game just dropped and we’re already calling it dead? Y’all are insane.
Okay let's actually be fair, it has twice as many players aa BTD5 which is 13 years old and 3% as many players as BTD6. This launch hasn't been very successful
it's a PVP, new game
if it doesn't have high players at the start then it's gonna stay dead, since people start going "is this game dead? it only has 400 players"
if you played the beta test you didnt get all the cards.
NK said that they were going to reset the data when the game releases, and they did.
I was one of the people that got the testing version, and the only thing that you get is a exclusive card back.
That's my bad I thought that was the case because of Isab's video on his extras channel.
Yeah I definitely think it would've benefited from some more play testing for sure
Yeah I think it would be cool if all the tokens were condensed into general crafting tokens
It's literally the "add more currencies so people don't realize they spent 2932 dollars" but even worse
average ninja kiwi game launch
If you spend the monkey money in shop on the random cards you can get 3 cards each day + tokens
I earned enough Mmoney to buy them for the next 5 days already.
That gives me 15 new cards + i am able to craft a decent amount aswell.
Just dont spend the monkey money oN new hero’s and it should be fine
You can't try to get card packs? The story mode should have those as rewards right?
If the story mode has those as rewards I'll definitely start playing it
@Phenomix even pvz Heroes did THAT
Everyone complainging about a game that came out two days ago. Let them have some time to add stuff. They can easily balance things and will do it whe ln a card is too good
I definitely agree, and this video is just meant to encourage NK to make the game as good as possible!
I think the progressive nature of the game is fine I think some people are overreacting
ngl, i love ninjakiwi for what theire doing with btd6, but man, i played beta of this game and i enjoyed it, but it sucks to see it turn to p2w :/
I love almost everything Bloons, but I have absolutely zero interest in this game. I've watched a few videos which were interesting enough, but I don't think the gameplay style is for me
I might do videos soon on this
These new games are like clash mini and they give u brain
Think you meant "they give you a brain" and I agree, they make you think differently and it's interesting trying to build a good deck. Just wish new cards were easier to unlock!
The balancing in the game feels strange and the normal playstyle that a lot of the BTD community has, doesn't really carry over. I feel like a lot of the lower reviews are from unhappy people who this game wasn't really made for, over time the reviews will likely get better.
If the game finds its right audience and gets some much needed balance changes that definitely would help a lot!
That's the sad reality of our world many times for sure, especially when you look at the US where medical care can leave you bankrupt
Guys guys be honest
Every game they have realeased past 5 has been bad at the start (Maybe not pop but who plays that?)
And what has happended everytime?
They got put into a good or at least tollarable state
So just let ninja kiwi do there thing and remember
More awsomer -ninja kiwi 2024
It's a fun game just ninja kiwi just has such terrible monetization for every game except for btd6. you have to buy in and then keep buying to keep up eventually you might be able to get ahead of the curve but it sucks that it's part of the process. just charge straight up for it and give you like 10x as many resources or something cause right now it's kinda miserable
newest game isnt too bad i agree tho
I quite like the game
Same here, that's the only reason I've played for over 10 hours in the first couple days!
I swear they can't make any game orher than btd6 good.
The BTD games in general are amazing but their other games tend to leave more to be desired. People forget when everyone hated Battles 1 because it added toxic powers
I mean the game just came out. Seems wayyy too early to make any judgement yet about it needing to be “saved”.
Yeah that's fair, I'm just basing things on the declining playerbase and mixed feedback
@ yeah you’re right. The video felt more like your opinions on what should change to help the game rather than what the title led me to believe. Hope that didn’t come off too rude, cheers mate
It's a live service game, it can definitely get killed if this keeps up.
Why did we get a card game?! Nobody wanted this. Give me Bloons Monkey City 2!
I definitely think NK really should consider a second BMC with how many people still play the first.
The only issues are balance and progression, both of which can easily be solved
who tf told u that the recent btd6 updates weren't much bc that is SUPER incorrect lol
Dude calm down !!!
It just released 2 days ago.
Im just trying to address the popular sentiment right now
Not to mention that the game doesn't have a good progression system ,an easy way to fix this would be just to add different card packs yes I don't mean premium packs because card packs are an essential for any card game to have ,them not having that on launch really baffles me
Yeah they need to add card packs for Monkey Money and have a way to convert tokens into MM imo. Rn you can just buy a common, uncommon and rare card which isn't even always a card, sometimes it's crafting tokens
will we see gambling life savings part 2 i wonder
I am planning on releasing that for sure, I have triple the bloonstones to gamble this time as well!
i have played card games before and love it but the lack of content and locked content is what keeps me away.
i know it‘s new and all but there is just way too little to do
