I think the reason why you were so surprised by Benjamin's slower leveling is because he is rarely used in any modes that don't gave monkey knowledge, so players are used to his leveling with monkey knowledge which is significantly faster.
Smart targeting is the biggest misnomer in the game. There's lots of maps you just cannot get good locations for spike piles with any of the 4 options. NK, please just make bottom path give you an option to target spike piles like engineers target cleansing foam. To improve this run I would consider leaning more heavily into beast handler bird. Until Pouākai that path has garbage popping power, can stall the blimps, and gives more control.
you can see how many pops you got total on the total damage section of the victory screen. you didn't even need to add up the pops of your towers you could have just looked at that lol

Basically chad mode + the BB standing for Black Border You can do practice runs, test things out, and play at certain rounds, but you must either succumb to the torture or do at least one full black border run before reaching the final conclusion of the challenge If you somehow still feel like a masochist after this, then you can do a R.I.C.H.A.R.D! B.B! Basically standing for: -Reverse mode -Impoppable prices -Chimps -Half cash -ABR -no (price) Reduction (no bottom path villages) -Double hp moabs -Black Border (Although i have no idea as to if there's a mod that allows you to mix reverse mode and other modes for this to be possible)
Now that i think about it, the first R can be replaced for "no Rest", which means you'd be unable to pause and you'be forces to have auto start on, but that's Ridiculous lol
Some ideas for next time: Ben's trojan can be buffed, so an alc buff could work for more trojans And absolute 0 makes moabs frozen and ruin your spike pile
You should do a challenge where you're trying to get the least pops on your mvp. That is, spread your pops as much as you can between all the towers you can place.

I feel like this would be so much easier if you could use the Doorgunner monkey knowledge for The Final Harmonic. The Heli can keep the totem on the moabs from anywhere and with Special Popperations after you stalled long enough you can just spawn the Marine. The bloon get knocked back if they don't get sucked up aswell. Fun synergies. I used this on Apopalipse with PoD.
You probably know this, but XP is distributed based on the cost of towers you have on screen. Not putting Benjammin down until the 30s is why it leveled so slowly. At that point, you already spent a significant amount of money on your other towers, while Benjammin is very cheap comparatively, so most XP was disproportionately going to those other towers. He gets proportionately more XP if you can put him down early. In addition, Benjammin has the 2nd highest XP ratio at 1.5, which I think is a straight ratio meaning he requires 50% more XP than most towers with a 1.0 ratio. To level Benjammin, it is very important you get him down super early. Although I understand in Chimps that is hard to do.
Smart targeting doesnt worked because smart targeting makes that spike factory only throw spikes that ballon on it and I guess this maps tracks counts differently because of the path changing mechanic.
A suggestion I have that I haven’t seen much people point out is to get a shattering shells/blooncineration. If you de-fortify bloons it like halves their hp and overall pop count

Personally I feel that even if you did get 50% exp boost that you should still have gone for Energizer early to stack the exp buffs so that you could reach higher level sooner to make use of his abilities more frequently same with his skill cool down stacking for more uses there as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe mer monkey 0-0-5 might also decrease ability CD for even faster ability usage though that could be only for water towers or I'm just wrong
Ab zero and 025 permaspike is a god combo 😂 Also the spikes don't keep alch buff if you restart, so 025 is only better if you want to black border. 205 gives more tries.
I tried to have a go at this challenge by stalling and overclocking the trojan but ended up with 1.03M pops... Turns out trojan targeting is fully random and it kept going for stray cerams instead of moabs and ben didn't even get high enough level to trojan BFBs.
Ice monkey came to 34826. he did include it in the calculations to end with 986,663 Additionally even if we include the map explosion which dealt 8721 damage. that still brings the total to under 1 mil (995,384)
but now coudl you also beat it while in addition getting that bma money steal master. at that point you would be working with like quarter cash mode while having to get a supper expensive tower that doesn't help with the bad so it's probably not doable
There has to be a bug with spike factory , I think bloons gets freezes right on top of the pile and it deletes them, a lot of time few blimps that shouldn't do any.dmg to a perma spike went trough because of that
You should get the mod that lets you go back to previous rounds. Could save you a lot of pain having to replay the entire thing just because you messed up the timing of something
You don't want the 0-2-5 permaspike, the 1-0-5 is a lot better when you are using lord of the abyss, since his pierce increased is percentage based... and therefore your permaspike would benefit much more with top crosspath
also freezing moabs which happened very close to the perma on round 92 there will eat up the piles, since perma without hot spikes do not pop frozen. So 2-0-5 should have been the play here, not 1-0-5, if he is playing ice monkey.
I've noticed that spike bug multiple times now. It always happens on multilanes that are apart from each other. But thats all I know, NK really has to find the specifics cause this is literally breaking the spikefactory. With a frontline permaspike youre just trolling.

This is simply not true. Almost all pierce buffs are additive, almost all rate of fire buffs are multiplicative, meaning a high base rate of fire does far more than a high base pierce when buffs are involved.
No , it WAS better always, but it got nerfed to 85 pierce. Both are again back to similar. You are also probably talking about the 15dmg pspike too, as it made too many children bloons, making pierce mandatory

Totally different numbers. On the victory screen, the pop count was 225,938 and the total damage was 995,384. None of them match the calculated sum.
It probably counted the pops from the statue in the total damage.
