Speaking of Kites, there is an endemic bird of prey in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR is the Black Kite. And for butterflies, there are quite a lot of Common Mormon Swallowtails both in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, and in Singapore 🇸🇬.
New subscriber here enjoying your adventures birding; thanks for sharing. At 02:23 you spotted two Reddish Egrets, one of them is the beautiful white morph.
Hey Rodrigo, thanks for the nice comment. Glad you're enjoying. We make mistakes sometimes, especially in unfamiliar places, but we hope people enjoy the journey! Always open to feedback and corrections. Happy birding 👍
We have some species of Egrets in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR : Cattle Egrets, Lesser Egret, and Greater Egret 👍👍👍👍👍at beachfront promenade in the New Territories of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR.
Wonderful scenery, do you have to be careful being close to the water with the possibility of Alligators around? We actually have a first summer male Indigo bunting in the UK at the moment, a lot more beautiful than the mottled one at the beginning of your video. Keep up the great work guys. P.s. love the dewlap on the Brown Anole.
Thanks Marcus. I think it depends who you ask about the alligators. I moved towards the one in the video and it backed off into the water, but some people just beginning their hike were put off enough to abandon their outing. Personally, I think most animals (with obvious more exotic exceptions like gorillas) will choose to avoid confrontation. But I also wouldn't walk up to the water's edge and peer over it like a gazelle 😂 I saw the headlines about the Indigo Bunting - and all the crowds trying to see it!
An awesome video in your birding journey. Looks like an awesome trip. Great footage and interesting info on the ecosystem. The swallowtail kite looks awesome
Really enjoying your video series. Watching you guys 'tick' off birds on the videos is almost as engaging as being there with you! Coming to LA (from Sydney) and will have a couple of days for birding, you have any tips for a couple of good locations to go there? Hopefully will see enough to make a video too. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Roger. I'm not too familiar with the LA area. We spent two weeks in California last year, but mostly sticking to the coast, mountains and desert. Generally speaking, if we visit somewhere new, we will be delving into the eBird website/app and looking at what places are active/where our target species are.
We love Ding Darling!!

I like how you include more than just birds.
Glad to hear, thanks 😊
Loved this, especially the gators lol....
Thanks Karen!
Loved all of the habitat/ecosystem information Sara brought into this video! Amazing footage of birds! This journey has been amazing so far!
Thanks. Some cool locations still to come 😊
I enjoyed the video, and the swallow-tailed kite was amazing. I see them sometimes during the summer months.
Thank you Nathan!

Similar bird can be seen both in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, Singapore 🇸🇬, and Japan 🇯🇵, is the Chinese White-eye.

Thank you!

Thanks for the nice comments and support here and Twitter, appreciate it 😊
cool, swallow tailed kite is cool, I saw one in Costa Rica years ago.
Thanks Nigel
I knew the White-eyed Vireo right away. I found one in Humboldt County years ago that was nearly impossible to see but easy to hear. Lol.
Having heard it so much after this, I don't think we'll be forgetting its song!
