I hated so many bands from that era but Hives were outstanding. Such a Unique band. Had a break for nearly 15 years, came back to Bogus Operandi and I'm amazed by their old songs, again. They even sound much better to me now. Holy, this band is hot as fire.

Yeah, after Lex Hives, they seemed to disappear. Then they put out a few new songs in 2019 but not much. But last year, they put out a full new album and this year, I finally saw them live for the first time. They put on a great show.
I remember like it was yesterday when i bought this record. This was so raw and different what was on charts back then. Just love it!

Veni Vidi Vicious was my introduction to the band. Well, specifically, Hate to Say I Told You So was my introduction, but then I got the whole album and loved it and the rest is history. I'm not even sure Hate to Say I Told You So is my favorite.

I knew a couple of songs I liked, but I never gave them so much credit... until their comeback this year. The death of Randy Fitzsimons is amazing, their live performances energic, and as I rediscover their earlier work, I like them even more; they are unique and truly rock and roll.
I couldn’t agree more. I was the same. I liked them and honestly forgot about them - until October last year ❤ TDORF is amazing and I love to listen to their old albums.

I remember popping this cd into my desktop PC and being pleasantly surprised to find the music videos for this, Main Offender, and Hate to Say I Told You So, watchable from the disk.

rediscovered the hives in the wake of a ex been into them. i always liked them but never made the jump to actually get into their stuff. which is a bit of fault of mine, as their music is terrific and i admire their dress sense. i love playing this song in the car, the chorus really a instance to break speed limits

Recommend Backyard Babies, they are a Scandinavian Hard Rock/Glam Punk band that has some pretty good stuff
no way man. Punk and hard rock are predominantly American and British sounds. Scandinavia's really great at it and even pioneered modern waves of metal music, but they're far from the *only* ones who can do punk and hard rock.

I really didn't appreciate The Hives enough back in the day. I just heard their hit and took them as a band that wouldn't matter in a year or two. I was right, but I was so wrong. The early 00's airwaves were just largely dominated by so much nonsense you were almost conditioned to automatically forget about it. I totally missed this intricate Indy punk bullshit these kids were doing. I like it.
Similar feeling. Not the proper publicity of the album and it would be radically different and turn you off. So much time goes by but it seems too late, you lose interest. You revisit and wish you were a part of it in those missing years. A kind of ghost land of memories to fill in.
Way underrated. Oh Lord and the energy on stage. One of the best bands I have ever seen live. What a performance.
