- Here is the extremely rare video for The Pogues 1993 single 'Tuesday Morning' in HQ for the first time on youtube.
Fans of the group were divided over the release of 1993's 'Waiting for Herb' due to the loss of Shane MacGowan as lead singer. However Spider Stacy pulled off a cracking lead vocal for this irresistible pop single.
Damn spider Stacy is underrated. Sounds like The clash with folk instruments.
After they'd already had Joe Strummer on vocals for the 1991 concert I thought Spider was a very good replacement for Joe lol

I believe this was the Pogues first album without Shane MacGowan, after splitting with him over his drinking & unpredictability, so naturally everyone wondered if they would be any good without him. I remember buying it when it first came out in’93, taking it home, putting it on, then sitting back apprehensively to await the verdict, and……it was beautiful. A little different, obviously, a little softer, more nuanced, but it was still the Pogues, and still amazing musicians. 🙏☘️🎶🎭

Yes and it’s notable it was Spider who wrote it. He is underrated as a singer. I love his voice, it has a sensuality that talks to me. It’s unfair to compare him to Shane all the time. They are two different persons with different voices. I’ve been a Pogue-fan for many years and saw they in Gothenburg back in 1988. Right now in december 2023 my favourite album is PogueMahone where Spider is totally brilliant.

This is far from being the best Pogues song. It's so... basic. It won't leave even a scratch in the story of music. And as far as I'm concerned, it's not connected to any important moments or memories...
