When I first heard this song I was a young man who was madly in love with a beautiful and special young lady...this was 'our song'. After all these years this song is still a beautiful reminder of our brief time together.
For me I deputised on drums for an Irish Folk band one crazy crazy 3 gig weekend.... This was my favourite and I love the drum part so played it very faithful to this.... 🥁
I went to see the porgies at the warfield in SF about 18/19 years ago. One of the best nights of my life. Was my birthday, brought many friends, including my then new( now longtime) partner. It was a ball. The vibes and shots were flying. All dancing the night away. So much fun, love and laughter. I didn’t realise how special it was at the time. Thank universe I was there. Such a beautiful, special soul. I’d do anything to have a chat and hug with him xx
"Waiting for Herb" was the BEST album they ever did. They never needed Shane. They're better without him. He oppresses their artistry with his drunken sideshow bullshit.
Too many sad days Too many Tuesday mornings I thought of you today I wished it was yesterday morning I thought of you today I dreamt you were dressed in mourning But I knew that you With your heart beating And your eyes shining Would be dreaming of me Lying with you On a Tuesday morning I fell through the window And I found that I was still breathing I thought of tomorrow And the fear that you might leave me I thought of tomorrow And I wished it was Monday morning But I knew that you With your heart beating And your eyes shining Would be dreaming of me Lying with you On a Tuesday morning Turn your face from me And I will cover myself with sorrow Bring hell down upon me I will surrender my heart to sorrow Bring hell down upon me And I will say goodbye tomorrow But I knew that you With your heart beating And your eyes shining Would be dreaming of me Lying with you On a Tuesday morning
Shane left the group prior to the recording of the last Pogues album, and Spyder Stacey took over lead vocals. They initially tried to get Joe Strummer to sing with then but Strummer couldn't get out of his recording contract.
The singer is called Spider. He played the tin whistle with The Pogues. At this point, Shane had been sacked (fired) by the band. It's not the same without Shane.
Actually, Shane was with the band at this concert -- you can see the full concert on UA-cam under "The Pogues in Paris". Shane did nearly all of the lead singing in this concert -- he sat this one out, and Spider was great.
Pogues can go on without Shane. AC/DC went on without Bon. Bodeans went on without Sam. INXS had the right guy with JD Fortune. You can be replaced by great talent.
What an underrated tune this is. I wish it was yesterday morning ❤️🙌
Their best song without Shane

Hold on to those memories and treasure them. X

I Love The Pogues with Shane
I Love The Pogues with Spyder
I Love The Pogues!!!
Love the Pogues 💚🍀
One of their best songs despite the absence of Shane.
From a good album without him. A few of them sang. Andrew Rankin was brilliant singing My Baby's Gone.
OMG i love this song reminds me of love past, and future?
Philip Chevron (17 June 1957 - 08 October 2013). Tuesday Morning.
Happy birthday, Spider! Dec.14, 2019......61 years young.
hes actually got a fucking great voice for this punk/folk type stuff
Spider Stacy has the perfect voice for this kind of stuff.
It's impossible to listen to this only once!
You got that right!
No it's not
I first heard the Pogues 30 years ago...and I keep coming back to listen. Cannot say that about too many other bands. Will always love this.
My fav pouges tune
C'est énorme, c'est bon, c'est beau, bref c'est THE POGUES !!!!!

Despite the absence of Shane period this is one of my favourite Pogues tracks.
Phil Chevron - God bless x

better without spider is outstanding
@@Berus7777 oh for the love of god, if you thing that you have genuinely no appreciation of true and utter genius
Shane was there, he’d gone off stage for a break check out 3:53 when he returned
Watching this on a Sunday morning!
Me too.
Well played Spider. Love the Pogues.
The biggest compliment that I can give this song is that Shane would be happy if he wrote it.
Thanks for posting.

Need more music like this
My favourite

Brilliant song, my second favorite pogues song!
Yes, spider was great on this song,,awesome!!

Too many sad days
Too many Tuesday mornings
I thought of you today
I wished it was yesterday morning
I thought of you today
I dreamt you were dressed in mourning
But I knew that you
With your heart beating
And your eyes shining
Would be dreaming of me
Lying with you
On a Tuesday morning
I fell through the window
And I found that I was still breathing
I thought of tomorrow
And the fear that you might leave me
I thought of tomorrow
And I wished it was Monday morning
But I knew that you
With your heart beating
And your eyes shining
Would be dreaming of me
Lying with you
On a Tuesday morning
Turn your face from me
And I will cover myself with sorrow
Bring hell down upon me
I will surrender my heart to sorrow
Bring hell down upon me
And I will say goodbye tomorrow
But I knew that you
With your heart beating
And your eyes shining
Would be dreaming of me
Lying with you
On a Tuesday morning

pööraselt lahe lugu!
Genialer Kneipensong ...
Glad you caught that too. Or perhaps a "Tuesday mourning."
Какие же они крутые!
это не они. ранее уже писали, если нет Шейна = нет Поггз.
@@Wailhorn тем не менее, песня беднее от этого не стала! Песня прекрасная, аранжировка класс.
They are cooler than the other side of the pillow.
How about a pouges tour with spider singing?
Best album from them
Looking forward to Tuesday. That’s the day Donny gets sentenced 😎
Did Spider just hawk up a hamster at about 2:00? How frosty is that?!
i have the dvd / cd :)
The notes and bars at the beginning of the song are very similar to Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen. Shanne McGowan RIP
As someone I used to know once commented: The Pogues went New Order?
Wonderful song. But why is Tuesday so important. Every day can be a Tuesday
There are no two Spider Stacy.
I get why people don't hate this song.
Hello,hello, hello hello.
Where is Shane ??🤔
I’m new to the PO guys, but where is Shane he’s not dead is he that would be such a lose.
Shane left the group prior to the recording of the last Pogues album, and Spyder Stacey took over lead vocals. They initially tried to get Joe Strummer to sing with then but Strummer couldn't get out of his recording contract.
And no Shane's not dead..
Nervous version, but so beautiful!
much better than shane, sorry fellas
chanson de la période sans shane macgowan.
Where is Shane MacGowan??? Is that him singing??
The singer is called Spider. He played the tin whistle with The Pogues. At this point, Shane had been sacked (fired) by the band. It's not the same without Shane.
Actually, Shane was with the band at this concert -- you can see the full concert on UA-cam under "The Pogues in Paris". Shane did nearly all of the lead singing in this concert -- he sat this one out, and Spider was great.
That's the correct info!!
bruce springsteen

love shane to pieces, spider did some wonderful songs as well. this is magic.
Let's face it - No Shane = No Pogues
Wanker. I've seen the Pogues on numerous occasions and Shane is either passed out or lying on the floor. Thank God for Spider otherwise there'd be no.
Shite not Shane
