    Hey thanks for your video's, as I've pointed out before, there's not much out there. I did end up getting one with a DF body and Schneider glass. Phenomenal, absolutely as game changing for my work as I anticipated. Cheers.

    Phase One backs vary from back to back with DR and the like. It is quite common for some backs to be less clean in the shadows than others of the same model.

      Bo Dez I didn't know. But until now no issues. I guess it was just way too dark inside. I have done many outdoors shoots with natural light on overcast and all ok. I love it now.

    Would’ve been way easier to enter the info while tethered. I also learned my lesson.

    I own mamiyarz67 pro2.
    I want to use a digital bag
    Do I combine HX701 and IQ140M mount together?

    Would it be possible to use the m setting, multiple exposure setting so that everytime you would,nt have to cock the mirror.

      @RyuuzakiJulio  7 років тому

      Mos Samii great question. But no. The mirror up ends when you shoot the frame. You still need to crank the lever to reset the mirror and the lens trigger. The M mode will only NOT wind for the next frame on the back.

    I am curious if the 1/400 is actually having an issue or not? it could be a slight delay or something mechanical that is triggering the x-sync cable, so the shutter speed is separate from the x-sync signal slightly. oh, btw, dont chance that plug with the sticker on it, it goes so far in, I would hate to see that sticker hang up behind the little flap and get stuck

      The X-Sync sends a signal to the back to start taking the photo, the digital back on Zero latency is always waiting for the signal to start recording and it will end the recording of the image the moment it sees complete darkness.
      On Normal Latency it actually receives a signal to start the capture and another signal from the camera when the capture is done and the shutter leafs would close. But not on the Pro II. So from the X-Sync signal to start the shoot it will be too fast for zero latency.
      And yes you are right, I sent an email to that company and they said that "accidentally" someone put stickers on both sides of the cable. (Fun fact, on their website the only firewire 800 they have has photos with stickers in both sides) But yeah, I did removed it. Thank you for worrying. I didn't even thought about what would happen if it was behind the flap.

    Julio, why didn't stick with Leaf and upgrade to Credo 40 for example for those much nicer skin tones?

      All in all is pretty much the same CCD sensor, is just RGB information from each pixel that it gets interpreted by each company's image processor. At the end of the day the Color Profiles of Aptus made for Portraits or Skintones never satisfied to me, I was always using the profile for Product which had realistic colors and pretty sharp, the Portrait mode and Soft Portrait where too smoothed out. Some of my best work has been done with Phase One digital backs, and everyone seems to love it because the punchiness of the images. But its my 3rd day with this back and I still haven't shoot a well done model yet. Can't wait to test it against a pretty skin.
      Another reason for the IQ series is the Sensor+, recently I had been having to shoot outdoors with no strobes, and base ISO 50 was pretty painful to work with. I know I just get 10 Mpx but is pretty ok for a normal magazine size print.

      Because of sensor plus mode !

    I made it through to the end and saw the results from the tethered shooting - how are you finding the results, since it seems you were initially disappointed in the files?

      A few days ago I went ahead and retouch one of the old photos I had from the Leaf Aptus II 7 (DM33). And the difference was impressive, not only because of the 33 mpx vs the new 40 mpx with the smaller sensor but the IQ files are much more crisp.
      I have shared one RAW file from the IQ140 of a beauty shoot so everyone can check it out on this video.

      Thank you! I'm looking at getting into MF with an IQ140; the 1/125th x-sync of the GFX kills me, otherwise, I'd consider it.

    • @RyuuzakiJulio
      @RyuuzakiJulio  7 років тому +1

      If you can afford it, the IQ140 is an excellent option, beyond that, you would just be looking at increasing your sensor size a few millimeters for thousands of dlls for me it would be a 160 or 180 but I really don't feel like I need it at all, 40 MPX is already insane huge and can make huge billboards with no detail loss, so I'm not sure I would ever want to get another digital back, at least with the options we have till today.

    • @TheBroketographers
      @TheBroketographers 7 років тому +1

      What other options did you consider? I'm between an H5D-40 or a phase 645DF/DF+ with an IQ140 back -- OR maybe an H4X with the IQ140. I like the new GFX, but 1/125th sync absolutely _kills_ me.

      The Broketographers hasselblads lenses are too expensive. DF+ doesn't seem to have so many good reviews. The XF system sounds nice but again is a DSLR feeling. I really just like the RZ67 Pro II. For digital backs I was very indecisive between the credo 40 and this IQ140 but for many reasons the IQ was the best option for me.
