The only thing sadder is the story about Sharon Tate. She had gotten married to Roman (He thought she was kidding) and she was expecting his child...to be slaughtered randomly and NO ONE THINKING THEIR SCREAMS WERE FOR HELP is tragic. As well as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme being abused as a child and later joining the cult...it's just incredibly sad. :( I really loved Sharon in "The Fearless Vampire Killers". I really felt for Sarah. :(
cinema snob is the only reviewer on TGWTG.com that I would like to meet in real life lol .. he's got the best role I'd only want to meet doug if he would be acting his Ask that guy role lol
Chrystle Ayer It was basically the result of a lot of older Baby Boomers who thought their own authoritative and "mature" ideas were more better than what hippies had in mind. It also didn't help that stuff like this, as well as the rise of drug use and annoying characters, would generalize the hippie culture (even though half of them probably only wanted to promote peace during the infamous Vietnam War).
Chrystle Ayer Depends on the hippie. I've met asshole hippies that litter and pick on homeless people and I've met traveling hippies that now have a family together and go to music festivals to sell hand made jewellery. I've met a hippy digging through a dumpster and I gave him a bean burrito because he didn't eat meat. I've met hippies that had nothing and still tried to give me their last dollar (which I politely declined). It all depends on the person.
I'd argue that, more fundamentally, it was their dislike of traditional culture. In fact, historians often note that, from the end of WWII to the rise of hippie culture as about the most unified period in US history. It was the hippies who first broke that consensus. Opposing Vietnam was, most now admit, good. Opposing monogamy, public decency, sobriety, piety, hard work, capitalism, cleanliness, ambition...well, right or wrong, you can see how the Leave it to Beaver fans were more than a little off-put. There has always been counter-cultures but it would be difficult to find a parallel to how dramatic the hippies were. Wait, no it wouldn't be; the Communist take-overs of Russia, China, and other nations were accompanied by such drastic changes--one more reason it scared the shit out of people.
I know they can be annoying sometimes. My question is, Why do people (especially the government) find them so deadly when all they want is world peace and to get rid of weapons?
Say what you want about Charles Manson but he was a fantastic singer and musician. It’s really a shame he did all those awful things as he could’ve gone on and made more great music and grown in popularity
Helter Skelter was a song by the Beatles. It was about a child's slide in London. The song supposedly inspired Manson's vision of 'helter skelter,' a race war in which POC would rise up against white oppression. Some close to the real people have said that this was bullshit made up by Prosecutor Bugliosi. Others have said that yes, Manson spoke to them about 'Helter Skelter coming down.' We'll probably never know the truth, especially now they've all gotten old and some have died.
This may be an understatement, but Charles Manson is fuckin' nuttier than a Snickers bar.
SpeedyEric1 He's nuttier than a Payday*
I just love when Brad is dancing with that skeleton, it kills me every time and I don't really know why.
+Lisa Ross It's so romantic!
Flora Posteschild it’s necromantik
Because it's a tiny skeleton
Welp, just today, Brad posted his review of the sequel nobody asked for: The Haunting of Shanon Tate!
I saw that review. And I saw the DVD cover earlier in 2019.
I miss the old opening song
I miss the old snob
@@evy_mad he's not all that different now

'Hey it's where I'm the devil, i'm here to do the devils work' comes from
Thats a quote that tex Watson said to the victims at the Tate house
The actor Steve Mcqueen was actually invited by Sharon Tate to the place were she was murdered, But denied the invitation to her house.
So this has to be the best intro in Snob history. Both the lyrics and visuals sync up so well with each other.
Does Brad remind anyone else of the Talking Gremlin from Gremlins 2?
I guess that's why they called it "Stoned Gremlin"
This movie is like if Stanley Kubrick directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
...I sort of miss Jerrid. He was a lot of fun when he did this sort of thing. Hope he's doing well.
I love that the Messiah actually made a comeback in "The Reviewers", which was the best Uncanny Valley on TGWTG =D
Toilet Paper Reel Productions. A throw away line… but solid!!!
I was hoping for Phoenix wright to be the defense.
I'm not surprised with a avatar like that xD
it's cool! where did you find that pic?
TerrmediaReturns I just looked up of Phoenix and Miles duo pics .
Two minutes in and I am already loving this review!!!!
4:38- "Giggity giggy giggy gi-gi-gi-GEW!" Charly Manson is George W. Bush's true daddy. Suddenly it all makes sense.
11:25 Well, at least we now know where Rob Zombie got his inspiration for this similar line for The Devil's Rejects.
that's not the only Manson ref in his movies haha
In the words Eric Cartman "God damn hippies".
Spoiler: people dun got moyderd
*poipl
I lost it at 'Toilet Paper Reel Productions"
Charles manson looks a little like ritchie blackmoore in this
That ending was great XD
"Similating" indeed. Great job, you fucked up in the opening credits. Bravo!
Strange tidbit of info, Spahn Ranch is now partially owned by a church.
I agree. Thanks for uploading this.
Yeah, gotta admit, that music was pretty awesome.

Aw, I miss Lloyd.
Did the Snob review "Snuff"?
Groovy man can you dig it
The Nick Nolte line made me snort 😂
Why did they shoot everything else in black and white, but use a full color video for the shot of the moon?
To make it artsy of course.
Dark White by Music Machine
Thanks for the upload, it's not loading on Blip for me ^^
Funny he mentioned Hair. John Waters is friends with Leslie Van Houten

They had a TV movie about it in the same year, in color filled with anachronisms with the names changed.www.imdb.com/title/tt0074621/combined

@@DTD110865 No, the TV movie was 5 years later, based on the book the prosecutor "wrote."
@@LeshaAnn Yeah, why did I say the same year? But they still changed a lot of names for that TV movie.
Where is the full movie ?
Why's there so much hatred toward hippies? I don't get it. All in all, they seemed relatively harmless.
They smell bad. And are annoying.

Which one is James?
