- Our Paris Olympic previewing starts now, and on this week's Propulsion Swimming Podcast, we are going to highlight the swimmers who aren't getting enough attention and still might not over the next few weeks.
The title of this episode is swimmers under the radar in Paris. Under the radar means, no well known swimmers that are being talked about. That mainly includes the Australians and Americans because the last few weeks has shown what they are all about at their Olympic Trials, plus we all know those names by now.
We are going to go through 5 women 5 men, 2 of these will be British - all of whom we believe can make a serious impact on their races in Paris

What about Ilya Shymanovich, in the breaststroke aswell? He was a beast at ISL, won't be competing for Belarus but will be a neutral athlete
what abt Diogo Ribeiro in 100 fly??
Its a good shout but surely it's going to take a monumental effort to even make the final in this event let alone podium.
What time do you think he could hit?
What about Angelina Köhler? :))
Ooh not a bad shout!
Wiffen is he talked about in the long distances? As he comes from Ireland perhaps?
Certainly going to be talked about by us a lot over the next few weeks… maybe even on the wr prediction pod
Agreed, strong contender for gold in the 800/1500m. Can't believe how stacked these fields are. I have this feeling that he'll take it out and drop the field.
Would love to see it. It's quite difficult to drop Bobby Finke though... And Sam Short actually
@@propulsionswimmingpodcast being Aussie, I'll bacl short. But it's such a hard one to pick. Fink has hit hos straps, Short had a shocking Aussie trials with his gut issues. Hopefully he'll be at his best in Paris.
I mentioned this in previous comments: but Vivien Jackl in the 400IM. No threat to Summer obviously. But even if she doesn’t manage a medal in Paris I think she’s a big talent we will hear a lot from in the coming years. And I think like other great young IM talents she will expand into other events.
Great shout on Fairweather. I actually think she wins silver!
Do you think? That would be a turn up for the books. Titmus for the gold then?
Not convinced by Ruta winning gold, she had foot surgery in February... My outside bet is Benny Pilato!
Agreed, she was out of the water for 2 months, odds are 15 to 1 for her to win so placed a small 100€ bet as the field is not very strong outside the Chinese.
Diogo Ribeiro
yes .. That Dutch swimmer 200 breast beat Kate Dugles
