Not enough credit is given to coaches. These guys are PASSIONATE!
Absolutely love the job they do 🙏
Some hard graft going on in that pool!
What a great coach! And amazing work by the swimmers!
Highway to hell type of thing, physical and mental adaptation is unbelievable
Unfortunately, we missed capturing a bucket in action... 🤢
Lactic acid sets are some of my favorite to do. You don't feel most of the pain till afterwards, and you get yourself mentally hyped by the times you're going in practice.
Absolutely relate to having a love hate relationship with them. Some of the times hit in this session where bonkers
Thats not how lactic acid works. If you produce it, your muscles burn.
Good video 👍🇬🇧
Dana White seems like a good swimming coach !
Underrated comment
Do you mean 12 x 50s on Race Pace, going on 4 mins? I.e. rest for about 3mins 30 for each set?
Correct 👍
If I heard correctly there, Tom repped between 22.8 and 23.1. Rowdy's WR in 1980 was a 22.96
He average 23.1 over the course of the 50’s
Who do Ed Mildred, Josh Gammon, Jacob Peters and Matt Ward train under - Main or McNulty?
Ed, Jacob and Matt are with Dave McNulty. Josh is with Uni of Bath coach Andrei Vorontsov
It doesn't make sense to train to tolerate lactate. You can train lactate production to a certain extent and lactate consumption. Using lactate tolerance to define this kind of session perpetuates the outdated understanding about lactate we had around 40 years ago... We should be a bit more precise with the terminology we use.
You misunderstood what they meant by lactic tolerance. They don't mean the body's physical resistance, they meant the swimmers ability to swim despite the buildup of lactic acid in the muscles.
Almost like a mental toughness workout
@@pf_ebag8701GRACIASSS muy buenos trabajos....Saludos
It’s more for learning how to continue at pace and with good technique even though your muscles are shutting down. Kinda more for the brain than the body
@@pf_ebag8701I didn't misunderstood, I know why this training sessions are implemented but it is essential to choose the right words to define them ;D
