Hi Rachel, I'm so glad you don't take people's misconceptions about you to heart because quite frankly unless someone walks a mile in your shoes they have no idea what you're going through. It's easy to sit behind a computer and find fault with someone else and even easier to be unkind. Anyway I think you're amazing in everything you do and god knows you've had some struggles but you've always been honest about it unlike others who may cut and edit to fit their specific narrative. Love the new place and I love Patrick's hair it looks like he no longer has the blond and I think the darker color suits him. Anyway always good to see you smiling and so happy on a Saturday. Sending You and Patrick a very Merry Christmas. XO
I’m a PA I didn’t my clinical rotations among residents and med students. Honestly my hours were INSANE, I remember during my surgical rotation we were doing 104 hour weeks back to back. I was barely sleeping, my whole body hurt, I was miserable. I love medicine now but back in the school and training stage NO WAY, I would actually tell people not to do this profession now because the training was so intense. I find your ability to be honest so refreshing. It used to bother me when people would say “I’m fine” or “it’s not that bad” in the beginning and then later opened up about how they were STRUGGLING. Everyone is struggling through this training they have in place. Just know I love you and support you always, Reddit people have NO IDEA how hard school is lol
Dr. Rachel...opinions are like...."....." (fill in the blank). Everyone has one. Lol. People are going to chime up no matter what. Life is difficult...but that's how we grow. Think..you are halfway done with this program? Love Patrick's playing as always! The new place suits you guys so much!!
Dr. Southard, In your last vlog you mentioned if we had questions regarding other L&D related issues. When my son was born in 2009 I had an Amniotic Fluid Embolism.(AFE). I have no recollection of the events. My ex- husband told me most of what happened. My son was born via C-section healthy, but they took him away as I started having a DIC. I understand I was given somewhere around 121 pints of blood. I also know that I had to be put on ECMO. I have a medical background, but these areas are a bit gray in my total understanding of events. I can update you with more details. The end result is that we both survived the AFE and he’s 15!❤
hey Rachel , does multiple abortions decrease risk of fertility ? lets say one at 21 and another at 25 , would the person still be okay fertility wise if they had 2 ? thanks for any response
I always enjoy Patrick’s piano music! What talent!

What is the difference between all of the years of OBGYN residency? know PGY1 is intern year and PGY3-4 are senior years but that’s all I know.
Have you thought about freezing your eggs so you can use them even when you're in your late 30's- early 40's? It takes a lot of stress away:-)
Hi Rachel, plssss do a residency interview tip video!! I’m interviewing next cycle and I’m super nervous 😵💫
