Thank you for this tutorial. It was exactly what I was looking for. I usually connect my P1000 to an external monitor but unfortunately, I'm unable to utilize my Bluetooth shutter remote while connected to the monitor. I don't know why but every time my monitor is connected it will disconnect my wireless controller. If anyone knows how to remedy this issue, I would appreciate your feedback.
The whole reason I bought it was to record remotely which sales guy told me I can , this is a huge disappointment. I'm hoping this can be fixed since I see other nixon cameras able to record.
I agree. I have the FZ300 and the Nikon P950 and Panasonic are years ahead in both the app and the camera itself. I find it odd because the P950 costs almost double and the FZ300 is just so much better at everything except for the 2000mm vs 600mm focal length.

I've been at this for hours, and you are missing something very significant. Mine needs passwords, and some ID. Instructions from Nikon are absolute crap. Be warned, you will be struggling with this for hours. Camera keeps shutting down in the middle of my trying to connect. Horrible software. Getting message "Out of camera signal range" the phone is within 4 inches of the camera. Major problems. Messages say I need to use wifi if I'm going to use smartphone as remote control. The app has a pop up asking me to turn on Bluetooth. Horrible app. When you add a network, you need to have a name for the network, and then a password. This is how smart phones connect to wifi with devices. The app doesn't explain any of this. Horrible, horrible app.
Why did Nikon disable the capability to record video through Snapbridge on the p1000 & p950??? It works on other Nikon cameras. Very disappointing!

I have the FZ82 and the app is brilliant. This Nikon Snapbridge app is a pile of crap in comparison. Incredible.

When the process does not work you said switch off and on camera. Does not work.
