Hi Matt, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I'm just watching the one on applying Ceramic Coating. I regret that you skipped the prepping part. That is the part that I find most intimidating. How do you do it? What machines/tools and products are required? As you said, if the prepping is not done correctly, the imperfections will get sealed with the ceramic coating. Can you make a Video on the Prepping part or recommend one? Thanks, Thomas
Couple of questions. 1) What happens to the headlight and windows if you accidently get some of the clear coat on them? should you cover those areas? 2) After you apply the clear coat, can you still apply wax later or does the clear coat take the place of the wax?
Thanks for sharing. At what point do you know you need another coating in few years? Does it start to peel off? Can you apply to the white seats inside? Thx!
@@MattDanadel i have already coated my mercedes last year but my prep was not ideal i had no ipa anymore and used glass cleaner so the coating did not perform well and also did only one coat so will do better this time
Yes, you can. There are many “ceramic” products for tires and plastics. In reality, there is no difference. Ceramic is “hard”, but it’s not like a shell then can crack or peal. It fills nooks and crannies, and does not lay on top like it’s a flat surface. Plastics and rubber are nothing BUT nooks and crannies. It gets absorbed . Resulting in darker surface and water repellent surface. People need to get over this “it’s for this and this only” pushed by manufacturers where there is no need. There are many videos on using ceramic coating on rubber and plastic. Ex see Chris fix
Yes, I’d recommend washing it and doing all of the prep. Before delivery, they like to wash the car themselves. Also from transportation the car has more than likely gotten dirty. I washed mine and did the prep stuff before applying the ceramic coating
@@MattDanadel thanks Matt! Would you also recommend doing CC or PPF DYI OF COURSE if you plan on having a shop vinyl wrap the car within 6/8 mo of ownership?
Even a touchless wash can mess your car up. They have very high powered jets that can shoot into your door handles or other parts of your Tesla and make them malfunction. Tesla recommends hand washing for this reason.
Kinda. I’m not sure if this coating can be used on the seats but I do have some links in the description to Amazon to ceramic coatings that can be used on the seats

Awesome diy video! Do you have one for dyi ppf application?

I would suggest clay barring and buffing prior to apply ceramic coating and then give 3 coats
Hey Matt, how did you get it so red, like a candy apple red. Reds I have seen in real life look more like Maroon

Earned my sub….. your videos are excellent

Any suggestion on how frequently you need to do the ceramic coating? Like every year or more?
Ceramic coatings typically last between 2-5 years. Depends on the climate you live in, how you wash the car, and where it’s stored
@@MattDanadel Got it, thanks Matt
can you apply the coating on tires?
No
Why would you think a ceramic coating could be put on tires? It's a hard coating.

love it thanks
Can you apply it over PPF?
Yes. I installed PPF on my front bumper & hood and then applied the ceramic coating on top of it
This is literally the question I was about to ask. lol
Guess you didn't watch the video.
About how long did it take to apply this?
A couple of hours for prep & application each. Ymmv depending on what you need to do for prep and your paint’s condition
@@MattDanadelWhat did you for prep????
How many coats do you recommend?
2
I heard ceramic coating really only lasts visually for a few weeks which is making me hesitant to do this
Probably wasn’t a ceramic coating. There’s a difference between a ceramic coating and ceramic spray/sealant
謝謝主播分享👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐💐
What would you recommend if you just got the car delivered from Tesla and parked it in the garage, should you still wash it than apply CC?
Yes, I’d recommend washing it and doing all of the prep. Before delivery, they like to wash the car themselves. Also from transportation the car has more than likely gotten dirty. I washed mine and did the prep stuff before applying the ceramic coating

Half your video is basically an ad.
Can I take the Tesla through a normal car wash ? Thanks
Why would you take any vehicle through a car wash? Unless it's brushless, they will just scratch your car up.

@@xyzxyz6406 This is true and why I clean my car myself with a waterless cleaner. Been doing it for years and it's easy.
Same process inside the car? Seats etc
Kinda. I’m not sure if this coating can be used on the seats but I do have some links in the description to Amazon to ceramic coatings that can be used on the seats
Its a different product for interior
What’s with the mystery music?
Lmao, right?
