The AT2020 is a medium diaphragm and the AT2035 is a large diaphragm. A larger diaphragm is what all the higher end mics have. So, with everything mentioned about how great the AT2035 is, is that is is also a large diaphragm . Just wanted to point that out.

The difference was night and day when you sang. The 35 was much richer and picked up the guitar better. Not so much when you miked the amps but still a little better on the 35 Landon. I listened on my Genelec monitors. 👍
i think if you want a more balanced sounding mic for singing, the at2035 is better but if you like that clean almost compressed vocal sound the at2020 is better
I just bought the at 2035 for £70 on eBay otherwise I would have bought the at2020. I've only ever used a Samson c01 condenser mic and loved it hope this mics even better lol

I bought two bundle packs of the Audio Technica AT series which came with the same AT2020 you have but also in the box is AT Marker sized mic. I use the 2020 for voice audio and the marker one if I need to Mic something. Not the greatest mic’s but true work horses. I’m digging the new one you got.
no complaints from me about the At2020. It's been great. the 2035 is just the next incremental step up. I'll probably slowly keep working up the ladder. :) thanks!

Very good, very timely video. Just what I needed. I almost bought a Lewitt LCT 240, but it has a lot of self noise and treble boost. Here in Argentina they cost the same, but I will pass up the "Modern Sound" of the LCT, I think I will go for an AT2035. Thank you very much.
I'm an engineer for years, there really is a slight difference, a tad eq could do it honestly, plus the at2035 is way more harsh on the upper end, I have have also the 3035 and sold it within in a week which is the same as the 2035

The mic of AT2020 USB+ has its noise "ssssssssss" similar to the sound of rain. It is certainly always automatically recorded. As the result, AT2020 USB+ always produce noise in its every recording. How to remove the noise of the mic?
they are both good. 2035 just offers a few more features, but for years I was happy with the at2020. just depends on how much money you want to spend. soundwise I think they are very similar

Why does everyone think the 2035 sounds better? Louder does not equal better. It sounds completely distorted and muddy. Specially for recording guitars. Stay clear from the 2035
It's all personal preference. People like more muddy mics. There have been many singers using a muddy mic for awhile. I honestly didn't hear much distortion from both mics really but it actually depends on which one is best for your voice. Not his, yours. And if you think the AT2020 is better for you, get that sucka and put your vocals and instruments up onto the mic. I'm personally going for the AT2035 for voice acting and singing. I might get a different mic for singing someday but I think AT2035 would fit well for me
Its impossible to really compare due to UA-cam's audio compression. Normal quality is 1411k whereas youtube is around 128k - so UA-cam gives you only 10% of the quality of sound.
UA-cam audio bitrate actually goes up to 192kbps, and although bitrate will make it difference in audio quality, it isn't a limiting factor in a mic comparison. Great video!
youtube updated to 192kbps AAC and it's no longer dependent on video resolution. and yes, you can VERY easily tell the differences in the mics. the 2020 is way more tinny and less detailed.

2035 seem to have richer mids

I think at2035 is more "powerful" (sensitive) than 2020.
Listened with my Grado RS-1's. Wow! What a difference! 2035 all the way! Glad that's what I bought for my starter mic. ;)

Actually if u watched closely u can see that he was further away from the 2035 than he was from the 2020
The 2035 sounded richer all round on my ath ad500x phones, epecially the vocals.
The 2035 had such such a rich sound I love it and I'm definitely gonna pick one up!
