@@antoineinniss5586 I just bought it and I don't hear barely any noise where I record. I saw those reviews too. Maybe those people recording in places no sound treatment?
I think the AT2035 is tough to beat in regards quality to price. I use it for a lot of my gaming commentaries and reviews. I've put it up against mics that cost 2-4 times as much when I've been considering an upgrade, and do those mics sound better? Some might...but they didn't sound x hundred $$ better!
As per specs, the AT2035's sensitivity (-33 dBV) is only 1 dB less than that of the Rode NT1 Signature Series (NT1 SS) at -32 dBV, yet every reviewer says that NT1 SS should only be used in a studio environment (i.e., with no sound sources other than the ones to be recorded, + sound deadening). I'm planning to buy a mic for my daily video calls and my office is obviously not a studio: there's some curtains that reduce some reflections & lots of stuff lying around that also helps. Is an NT1 SS out of the question? Other mics I'm considering are the AT2035, the Lewitt LCT 440 Pro (-31.2 dBV, even more sensitive than the NT1 SS) and the Sennheiser Mk4 (-32 dBV). Would putting an isolation foam ball (like the Kaotica, but cheaper) help kill/reduce extraneous sounds (like the ceiling fan, video light fan and/or AC)? Currently using a Sennheiser E614 condenser at -50 dBV with my Audient EVO 4 interface.
Wonderful to see you, and I'm so glad Lewitt picked you up!!!! A gift of continuing giving. :-) I do find the Lewitt to be more "airy." There's more space around the sound. Might not be what the artist wants as it's not as "personal" per se, but I love the consistency of the Lewitt. Something common to their mics. Keep the vids coming!
wonder if all this test are recorded raw without any EQ or noise reduction or is it the acoustic in your both, btw great videos i recently bought a mxl 990 to start messing around with an audio interface.
This is just what I needed! Thanks, Mike! Do you think that either of these mics (esp the AT2035) would work well with the mobile setup you described in one of your other videos (with the Zoom H5)? Also, do you know if they would sound as good with a female voice?
Did you ever decide what to do regarding your setup? I know this was months ago, but I bought the AT2035 and use it with the H4N Pro (which I like way better than the H5) and it worked like a magical charm. The pre-amp is soooo quiet and powerful that I was getting a lot more out of the mic. That said, the AT2035 is sibilant as heck! You can hear every mouth sound too! Too much high freq for female voice...and I have a pretty low voice. That thing actually picked up my heartbeat when I was standing in the booth doing a room floor check at 10 inches. So, that mic is great with the H4N....so great...but for a female voice, you're going to be cringing at sibilance and doing a lot of post work to get rid of stuff. I just bought the Rode NT1, not the 1a, because of the flatter response and less rise in the high freq ranges. Let's see if that works. I wish someone would do a comparison like that for female voices.
I would like to thank you for the excellent job you do on your videos. I would like to ask a question to you, and your viewers. I’m looking to purchase a good mic, that won’t break the bank. It is down to two, first the one I see you use a lot, CAD 100s, or or Lewitt 440pure. I’m planning to do just voice work, podcast, and/or voice over! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Mike, You mentioned that Lewitt had sent you several mics. I have not seen the other reviews. Will they be coming up? Many here have asked about the LCT 440.
Disagree, they don't sound similar at all. LCT 240 sounds thin and has no boost for lower frequency. For your voice the AT 2035 sounds a lot better. It would be interesting to hear the AT2035 vs CAD100s they would be more similar I believe.
Howdy Mike, Erick here from the exciting metropolis of Richmond, Texas. Lol, question the booth your in is that your booth that you upgraded with the panels?
I got the 2035 before this video. I wish I went with the LCT 240Pro. The AT2035 is richer in the low end but has a lot of harshness in my opinion. The 240Pro is more neutral and clean, which I prefer since it's easier to work with in post as an audio engineer. Keep in mind guys that room treatment comes first if you're thinking about getting a condenser mic like these (or if you're ok with recording in a closet).
The AT2035 has a High-Pass filter switch, not to change the characteristic of the Human Voice, because it operates at a VERY low audio-frequency range. Much lower than general voices go. It is there to stop ROOM Base-Rumble or A/C low-end hum mechanical noises, which many poor (non-professional) sound-environments have in the background. This Low-Cut audio-filter is a nice feature for a $100+ Mic to include.

Thanks again man, im looking forward to you making more videos.
Hey Mike, thanks for this review. I have an audio-technica AT2035 that I purchased new about 7 years ago. At that time, I also bought an M-Track M-Audio interface to do voice work. A few months ago, I started podcasting and got them both out of the box to use. Unfortunately, the mic was producing unusually low bass tones. I tried unsuccessfully to fix the problem. I just recently ordered a Focusrite Scarlet Solo Audio interface to replace the M-Track interface. Hoping that the Focusrite will produce brighter, more natural sounding tones for my podcasts.
2035 has more bass, while the LCT sounds more like the 2035 with the high pass filter on. Both sounds great!... although I do prefer having the option of that extra bass on the 2035. Then again, this is totally a taste matter, and no ones taste, or the area of use will be the same. (I'm watching your channels, and I'm a music producer, who owns the 2020 (no usb), and for the price, it was a steal as well. ;)
Thx for the info. I’m very new voice over actor. I learned a lot from you. May God bless you! There’s any specials to buy the AT-2035 in a less price, or coupon?
So after watching your review I ordered the Lewitt back in March. I swear it just arrived (August) because of Covid. So you can imagine my excitement! At first it was amazing but the mic noise is so high I can’t use it. I don’t think it’s the best for VO because if the mic noise and it’s hotter for a female voice. I have tried everything. I went back to my dynamic Sennheiser. Sad face. I’m still hanging on to it just in case I figure something out.
They both do sound similar. The AT2035 sounds a bit bassier but the Lewitt sounds a little smoothe, especially since I think the AT2035 picks up sibilants more.
This video is compressed. But if you have some good headphones, you can still tell that the AT2035 captures more detail in the highs compared to the LCT 240, even if the AT2035 is technically flatter than the LCT240 according to their frequency response charts.

I own and use the 2035, but not on vocals-there is a pronounced bump in the nasally area of the high-mid and a *very* fizzy top end. I find it surprisingly good on low strings however-cello and upright bass. Singing? Not so much.
Hi, which microphone is better amongst AT 2035, lewitt lct 240, MXL 770, Tascam 180, AKG p 420, Se electronics x1. Specifically for FEMALE ALTO VOCALS . Looking for a nice frequency response and low self noise. hoping to receive a reply.
Well every mic depends on your voice, I like the Lewitt LCT 240 Pro. Nice clean base everything for my voice I went from Procaster, Well to the LCT 240 Pro and everyone said i went from boy to man and sound %100 better I also use this mic on my broadcast and now have made Lewitt my main brand and will be with them from now and till the end thank you Lewitt.
Do you have an xlr cable that you prefer? I've been wanting to get a new one but I don't really know how quality differs from one to another. I haven't seen any videos about cables on your channel so I figured I'd just ask here.
Both sound great. AT2035, to my ear, sounds a tad bassier and seems to have a lower noise floor, but only by a smidgin. Both wonderful mics at a wonderful price. Thanks for the mics, mike :)
To be honest they are both so ridiculously similar that as a sound engineer I thought the Lewitt was on then glanced at the corner and it was the AT! Lol both are great!
Between the lewitt lct 240 pro and the rode nt1 , which would be better for voice over? My voice can get to be similar to yourse (deep, bassy), and i want to avoid any posible sibilance, but at the same time to sound clear, smooth and warm
Hello Sir, do you ever reply to subscribers' comments ?. I ask, because I've been commenting here and there has never been a response from you. But I'm relying on your professional and experienced opinion on this. Thank you
Hi Booth Junkie, quick question, do you think they'd be good as drum overhead mics? Could you please recommend something in that same price range, for drum overheads? Tnx.
Hi Strelock, the feedback we receive from LCT 240 PRO user, is extremely positive, especially with drum overheads. We collected some reviews & demos in a blog, feel free to head over to get a first impression: www.lewitt-audio.com/blog/lct-240-pro
the low end on the 2035 sounds nasty to me, it's something I've noticed on the less expensive audio technica mics i've tried, along with it's almost "sterile" sibilance. The lewitt sounds a bit thin but is so much smoother and silky to my ears, i'd take it over the AT any day of the week.
In my opinion, both of the mics are really good for the price. The AT2035 seems to sound a bit better, more bassy but they are super similar sounding. I personally use the AT2020 though.
2035 sounds like it has a tad bit more bass and body in comparison, but both very good
Probably because the LCT240 is actually a small diaphragm microphone :)

(I'm watching your channels, and I'm a music producer, who owns the 2020 (no usb), and for the price, it was a steal as well. ;)
Lewitt 240Pro or Audio Technica 2020? For a high tone voice?Thank You.
At2035 for sure. Much less self noise as well. Thanks Mike!
Thanks and Recommended for all
Would you recommend the AT2035 over the AT2020?
Which one is better in terms of eliminating the room noise(hiss sound) while recording vocals in a non-acoustic treated room?
They both do sound similar. The AT2035 sounds a bit bassier but the Lewitt sounds a little smoothe, especially since I think the AT2035 picks up sibilants more.
This video is compressed. But if you have some good headphones, you can still tell that the AT2035 captures more detail in the highs compared to the LCT 240, even if the AT2035 is technically flatter than the LCT240 according to their frequency response charts.
Sir , I am planning to use Lewitt LCT 440 Pure, in a home made 1x1.5 foot wooden Voice Booth , with Acoustic foam all on all 6 sides Completely, with ID 14 as Interface , going to use it only for my Software Demo Videos or Marketing Videos I will shoot myself , will it be good for voice over work in that setup ? I heard somewhere from you , Good Large condenser mics need Studio like environment, so will the room (Booth) be small for this mic ? Do I need any more Room Treatment than that Foam on all 6 sides ? Some People comparing it to Neumann TLM 103, is it comparable ? Am I overdoing things here ? Please guide
Can you suggest me a better microphone between ALG P220 and LEWITT LCT 240 PRO. My vocal timber is in mid-highs.
the proximity effect is still there, that switch is a low cut, or high pass filter.
I ordered the 2035. Pretty excited. Looks more pro than entry level to me haha
Is it good enough for professional use?
I subscribed this morning around 3AM lol ... I like this guy.
When do you start your video with "greating earthlings"?😂🤣
This!
What about "Greetings Boothlings!"
I have the at2035 I like. Now I want the LCT240Pro
Good review and tutorial. Keep up the good work.
To my ear the LCT 240 isn't as present nor open as the AT2035, plus a little "thuddie/boxy" in the midbass. I much prefer the AT2035.
Good review and tutorial - Love Lewitt LCT si Audio-Tehnica
Which one would be better for vocals, more specifically hip hop vocals
Do you have an xlr cable that you prefer? I've been wanting to get a new one but I don't really know how quality differs from one to another. I haven't seen any videos about cables on your channel so I figured I'd just ask here.
Bloodrage Engage I recently solved a noise issue by getting a mogami gold xlr cable, with my setup , I’m really happy with it!
Both sound really similar but I feel u sound just a tad more natural on the AT2035! :) great mic for the price.
Both sound great. AT2035, to my ear, sounds a tad bassier and seems to have a lower noise floor, but only by a smidgin. Both wonderful mics at a wonderful price.
Thanks for the mics, mike :)
Since you brought it up, how do you learn these mic techniques to avoid plosives and stuff?
To be honest they are both so ridiculously similar that as a sound engineer I thought the Lewitt was on then glanced at the corner and it was the AT! Lol both are great!
Thanks i really like all your video's always great. You seem laid back and yet and bundle of energy also :)
Between the lewitt lct 240 pro and the rode nt1 , which would be better for voice over? My voice can get to be similar to yourse (deep, bassy), and i want to avoid any posible sibilance, but at the same time to sound clear, smooth and warm
The Audio Technical was a slight bit stronger in the low end. The Luett is crisper in the high end.
Love your intros!
Hello Sir, do you ever reply to subscribers' comments ?.
I ask, because I've been commenting here and there has never been a response from you. Anyway, can you tell me just how noisy the lewitt lct 240 pro is?. I'm into voice over work here in the Caribbean and I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this microphone.
Thank you Lewitt, your reply was surely unexpected! I will surely check your impressions blog, thank you for the link.
Which one is good for singing
the low end on the 2035 sounds nasty to me, it's something I've noticed on the less expensive audio technica mics i've tried, along with it's almost "sterile" sibilance. The lewitt sounds a bit thin but is so much smoother and silky to my ears, i'd take it over the AT any day of the week.
to each his own, it's subjective either way, whatever sounds good is right
In my opinion, both of the mics are really good for the price. The AT2035 seems to sound a bit better, more bassy but they are super similar sounding. I personally use the AT2020 though.
Can you please recommend a USB Microphone for doing voice-over work?
