Steam Boiler Operation on Ship Explained

A boiler is one of that machinery that gets the ship going. A boiler is something, which though not required continuously in operating a ship, cannot be done away with. Moreover, steam boiler operation on ship involves dangerous equipment which generates steam at extremely high pressure, and it is for this reason that proper care should be taken while operating it.
According to an analysis, one of the main reasons behind accidents are improper operating procedures and overriding safety precautions while operating boilers. The main concern of any ship engineer is to operate all engine room machinery and systems to achieve maximum efficiency without hampering it’s operating life and safety measure.
The design and operation of a marine steam boiler installed on ships is based on some basic fundamentals of physics. Learn how a boiler is made from scratch and turned into an efficient system by implementing design optimisation and efficiency improvisation, following the principles which support the entire system.

" *O|L* " looks like " OIL " ...the latter would be the fuel inlet to the burner, not the steam outlet on the boiler.
Good schematic and explanation though.

This is just a basics of a boiler ..
The video is not about a marine boiler..
Sir i was expecting something special about marine boilers ..like..are they water tubed or fire tubed? Are they horizontal or vertical.?..which is the common type of boiler used onboard ?
I was expecting answers to these questions and all i could see was just a very basic boiler working..!
