Thank you for the video, it's very important to know where you can put the jacks. It is much appreciated
There are ppl rebuilding leaf batteries to give longer range, and or swapping longer range batteries from late model into older models. (I forget the details)
Nice work mate. Keep going
Really nice job on the vid Doug; this is the kind of detail that makes this a realistic DIY job for a decently experienced home mechanic.
Thank you so so so much for sharing this video my friend. I owe you a beer if you’re ever in Springfield, MO.
very very useful and innovative video Thanks
This is Awesome!!!!!!!!
Great stuff. Excellent detail and description. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely done, Doug!
Thank you kindly!

Hello, Mister Chinese. How are you?
Thanks for the vid! Actualy thinking of getting one for church and grocery commute coz gas here in LA is $$$.might contact you if i ever end up getting one ✌️💯
I can help you choose one
Thanks Mate. Nicely done and good vid. Cheers
Amazing video
You could’ve used a pallet jack with a few pallets on it to lower, position then re-install the battery . Hope this helps. Thanks for the video
I'm just about to try this maneuver on our 2013 Leaf, replacing the original battery with a 2022 62kWh. Can't wait to see the range after we're done with the swap. The original battery is still at about 70% SOH so I'm going to use the cells for home backup, which is a nice bonus.
How did the battery replacement go ?
@@Dannyfromvegas Haven't gotten to it yet. Blew a timing belt on our van and I've been working on that.
did you have to reset the new battery, so the computer can accept it?
Someone should soon make an EV battery jack for the same reasons we have transmission jacks and engine removal lifts.
Thanks grandpa
I have a 2011 Leaf in San Diego in great shape 65K miles, red if you want to go again on this. Only 20 miles of range. We put in a better battery and sell the car and share in profits.
Do you have a battery?
@@doughyun3428 Nope. I see that CATL makes modules for the 2011 Leaf battery now. Someone knowledgeable could rebuild the battery with these modules.
Sure thing
@@doughyun3428How do I contact you directly?
Hey I might have missed it but what year is your cars? Thank you.
2011

Please make a video to illustrate how you would do this job. Raising a car on four points is inherently dangerous. If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t even think about doing this or even doing an oil change.
How can I contact with you?
HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT! IS WAY MORE WORK THAN THIS!.
You are scaring me putting the car on what is essentially skinny stilts. One good rock and the whole think will come down at an angle. I guess you survived, but add blocking under the tires before getting under it again, please.
Those are jack stands, and unless they're the deadly harbor freight ones, they're fine. They're the accepted method when you don't have a lift. If you position them correctly and are on hard level ground they're very stable. I've supported a 9000# truck with them. If you're worried about it, you shake the bejeezus out of it before you get under.
I mean you should shake any vehicle before you get under it, jack stand or lift.
But yeah jack stands literally are the correct way to do this in this case, blocking the tires would be less safe because tires can roll.
