Great review. Here are some things I would say or add from my experience after using this machine for last 3 months. One is that, while the app is good I rarely use it. Instead, I tend to use the 4 preset buttons on the machine more often than using the app. I set the 4 coffee preset buttons to the way I like it and with just one or two button presses I get the coffee recipes I use 90% of the time. However, I do understand what you say about the machine interface being a bit clunky but after using it for a while you do learn how to tap or hold the touch sensitive buttons and it becomes far easier to use. As for the double hopper, I use one side for decaf and one for caffeinated beans as I try avoid too much caffeine in the evenings. Hence I don’t want them to mix. Meanwhile, for the amount of beans the hopper holds I just top up every second day with fresh beans and don’t find the need for a greater volume. However, you can buy a hopper extension online if you need a greater volume. There is a two cup option which can be useful and I find the machine is fairly easy to clean. Other optional accessories you can get for this machine is a thermo milk container which you can leave out of fridge longer and a chrome tray insert for on top of the machine to turn it into a cup warmer (which I bought). If I were to pick one negative for the machine it would be that the drip tray is too shallow and can be easy to spill if not careful when emptying. With regard to making a coffee first thing in the morning, you can set the auto off in setting to say 16 hours. You then just need to switch on machine before you go to bed, it will auto rinse at this point, then you leave a cup under the outlet and when morning comes if you are within Bluetooth range you can fire off a coffee from the app when you wake up. I’ve done this a few times and it works for me from the top of my stairs. If your bedroom is above the kitchen I am sure it will work. Anyway, I am happy with this machine, I’m not a coffee expert but just wanted to share my point of view.
I have this coffee machine and looking at manual I see they mention that to get finer grind you need to move selecter to the bigger icon side, however, on 6.47 while saying you would prefer fine grind you turned it down to the smaller icon. Is that just mistake or do I get something wrong?
I'm considering this machine but it will be up against water tank side wall with a 40mm space, will I have enough clearance to lift the water tank out vertically.
You can change the hopper to be just a single hopper in the app, as that is how I had it configured. I only just replaced it with an Oracle Jet or I would have been more specific about the settings!
@@rickykumar81 Good question! So.. the coffee is so much nicer (probably the most important thing!). The Jet doesn't need filling with water as often, and is easier to fill because of the front filler. The Jet is far messier - I think I am going to invest in a puck sucker because I end up with coffee everywhere! The TS Barista was ok tbh. I originally got the Impressa Touch but sent it back because the pucks were soaking wet and the cup had to be held in place as it vibrated across the drip tray! Much prefer the Jet - I'm really happy with it so far and as I say it's just the fact that it's messier that is a slight negative. Also, no brew unit to clean periodically with the Jet and that was a real messy job with the TS Barista. All in all, I'd say go for it, much nicer coffee which is what matters and I'm only using Kirkland House Espresso (Costco) beans. Hope this helps!
What is it like to clean? I had a Smeg bean-to-cup machine and the used coffee grinds seemed to find their way into all the nooks and crannies of a very narrow chamber that was nigh on impossible to clean.
It’s easy to clean. The brew unit comes out, excess coffee falls into drip tray, small amount of coffee left I take a hand held vacuum cleaner or damp cloth to.
I’ve had this machine for two years and not managed to make a coffee that isn’t bitter. I mostly make Milk drinks, so it tastes ok. Thought it was the machine, but after a few faults (milk valve was changed twice and failed a third time), they sent me a brand new one last month. Still getting bitter coffee, tried quite a few different beans as well. Aside from the grind size anything else I can do? I have coffee strength and temp set to high and have the aroma set to intense.
This is not the experience I have had from this machine. Although, I do not pull more than 40mill espresso volume through a single coffee grind. For bigger coffee I set it to do two grinds. I have not changed the grind size from the default, I set temp to high, coffee to strong or normal, don’t tend to use intense. Works for my taste. I’d say best to experiment and don’t just set everything to max.
Thanks 😎, just a case of experimenting to see what works best for you. Id usually choose max strength and reduce the volume, for more intense espresso, when using an auto bean to cup, is I'm so used to portafilter espresso. Biggest tip would be to invest in freshly roasted beans, and to stock around the medium/dark roast area, I'd avoid darker oily beans with this one as you wouldn't be able to run grinder cleaning pellets through it as it refuses to cancel without running water through the grounds. Cheers, Kev
To be fair it's one of the best in terms of silky texture, it's just a bit stiff for me, but some people will love it, anyone who likes quite stiff but silky foam will enjoy it.
Kev, you should force yourself to blink and pause regularly as it's too obvious that you are reading from a teleprompter as well as the hypnotic effect of staring. While this may seem like a trivial detail, it is actually very important. The elite youtube hosts have the ability to seem relaxed and natural, which gets them to 1M+ subs. The reason I'd like to see you get there is that you are far more likeable and entertaining than, say, Hoffman and I prefer learning from you over him any day.
Thanks for that, I think you make a very valid point, that's a skill I should probably work on developing. Re Mr. Hoffmann, I'm fairly certain the reason he doesn't look like he's reading from a prompter is he isn't 😆, he has the ability to present without having to script. I certainly don't, and I think that's a very rare talent. All my videos were unscripted initially, I'm absolutely terrible at that. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, and I'll take that on board. Ta Kev
Yeah, the app seems a bit pointless as it uses BT and you need to be near the machine. So a decent interface on the machine that could be used by a family would be much better in my view. Great video though 👍
Fancy becoming an official coffee botherer?:bit.ly/coffeebotherers

Thanks for your input, this was really helpful :-)
First! Recently ordered the chocolate fondant beans from cworks - absolute beast of an espresso!
Thanks for your very fast comment and your very kind words 😎😎🙏🙏
This looks like a nice bit of kit! Finally, a legit use of Bluetooth. 👍
4:55 Colin Furze called.
I heard your interested in a coffee version of my tea maker!

At 4:22 there is water, milk and coffee going into the cup but what is the fourth mysterious golden liquid going in?
I'm considering this machine but it will be up against water tank side wall with a 40mm space, will I have enough clearance to lift the water tank out vertically.
Whats the "recommendation" for a good cup of Americano? Ml both water and coffe? Strength etc.

How are you finding the Oravke jet in comparison? I'm thinking of replacing my TS Barista with the Oracle jet

Which is the best super automatic coffee machine now in your opinion?

Can you get spares for all theae machines?
Or if you break something out of earrenty its in the bin?
You can get spares
Why do all these machines have such terrible milk add ons visually it looks like the machine is on dialysis

There is an optional accessory chrome thermo milk container you can get from Melitta or an optional milk wand you can insert into a milk bottle.
That's one huge coffee machine.
Yeah it's not tiny

I rarely use the app. You get used to the interface after practice.
