- Ahhhhhhh I finally got to use Shoohey's UTAU! He's super powerful (His highest recorded pitch is D5 holy shit???) and I'm really glad I was able to encourage him to make an UTAU...
Anyhow I've always liked this song and I made a cover with Piko like 4 years ago and wanted to make another cover of the song so here it isssss
Also random note it was my first time using the camera in AviUtl so the video might be kind of sloppy, sorry AHAH

Of course that begs the queston, *what is a proper singer?* Does it matter that he is voice samples? Even a human singer is just throat vibrations hoping to achieve what their brain intended, and many singers don't even write their own songs. If vocals are a tool for conveying a message, what separates a Vocaloid/UTAUloid from a human?

To say this voice is impressive is an understatement, you really did something I genuinely don’t think I could’ve expected. Man, the thing with most Vocaloids is that no matter how good the tuning is, I just can't hear any emotion in the voices. But Mawarine Shuu is the first voice bank that I've ever heard singing with such passion and feeling, he truly sounds distressed and despaired, like he's doing his best to sound human.

An UTAU is a synthesized voice, just like Vocaloid, however, UTAU's are free software and can be created freely. A very common UTAU that you would probably recognize is Kasane Teto. She's a free software, compared to, let's say, Hatsune Miku, who you have to pay to use.

there are exceptions to that tho with a good resampler (thing that makes utau sound awesome) yamine renri, namine ritsu, laru mine, ect can sound very realistic or even human

UUUUUUH.... I don't think you're allowed to make your UTAU sound not only this amazing, but definitely not better than most Vocaloid's sound. Yeah, it's against the rules for this to sound so crazy realistic and powerful.
But in all seriousness, this voice is much more realistic and clearer than the Vocaloid's v3 versions. And this version of the sing isn't just another carbon copy every other UTAU/Vocaloid has sung, this really feels like he means what he's singing. Such unique, much powerfull. Me gusta. >:)

I would do anything to experience listening to this for the first time again. You can really feel the raw feeling and power that this song was made to convey. The tuning is beyond incredible and just absolutely breathtaking; I still get chills every time I listen to it. On top of it all, its not even a real person singing. The amount of emotion that this voice bank is able to produce is insane and its much more then you can find in actual singers, even 8 years later. I have yet to find another song that gives me the chills the way this one does.

You know… I absolutely hate how I only heard of this cover a few days ago! I knew about the original version (rest in peace, Wowoka) since I was in my early teens (mainly because my sister was ESPECIALLY into Vocaloid at that time). She told me about the song and explained how sad it was, but I didn’t quite understand (I was young and also not as into music as I am now).
I’m now 22 years old, and I saw a video that had the beginning piano part in it, and I thought “I remember that this song is sad, but I also want to buy it on iTunes because of how catchy it is.”
I looked on iTunes but I don’t think the original version is on there where I live. I also saw another cover, so I previewed it and noticed that (before I knew it was another program “singing” it) that the voice was incredible! I was about to buy it, but I noticed it wasn’t rated well. Apparently, it was stolen and uploaded to iTunes by someone who’s done the same thing to artists like Living Tombstone and more just to make a quick buck (I highly recommend you look into that if you can).
I also found out that you don’t profit off of this song, so I thought it would be fine to use the link in your description to get it on iTunes WITHOUT supporting piracy.
For the last few days I’ve been listening to it on repeat (and got a slight anxiety attack when thinking about how I related to it at times, but I’m fine now🙂).
