- I've never done a "life update" video before, but three big events are coming up in my life that will change everything. So I want to share them with you...
1. Our family is moving to Mexico

At age 18, I moved to Celeya, Guanajuato, Mexico to live with a missionary family. I lived with them for a year. It totally changed my life, my thinking about other cultures and people groups.

Every year feels like it is passing quicker than the last - That's called getting older. Remember when you were a kid and summers lasted forever. Nowadays, blink and it's suddenly the Autumn (or the Fall if you're in the US)

Uau… the annual review book idea makes me feel the time. I’m 52 years old, and I feel it was yesterday, which was 15 years ago.
The travel idea makes me think about moving out again for my son because I don’t have much time with him; I can’t wait any longer to show him our roots (I’m Brazilian and have been living in Europe for a long time).

I enjoyed listening to your update. Thanks to my parents, I had the opportunity to live in Spain for three years during very formative years of my childhood. It was where I started school; I was old enough to remember the experience.....and like you, I feel it was such an amazing gift. I can also really appreciate your experience of the passage of time. I am 56 and feel all that you described about the passage of time so acutely. It moves me to try to be more present, to soak up each moment, and to try to catch myself during those moments that I am impatiently wishing myself beyond a current moment. It all goes SO fast. Best of luck on your upcoming move to Mexico!

It is indeed the best gift a parent can give! At 9 years old my family moved to North Wales in 1992ish (I was born in The Netherlands) and we lived there for 2 years, after which we moved back to the town I was born in. Those years formed me beyond anything I could possible express, not only did I speak with an English accent in Dutch when we returned, I was above (Dutch) university level in English and still am. It shaped me mentally too, like you said, when needing to make new friends without even being able to talk to them at first. And school, both Welsh and English... Yikes! Best gift ever, though!

I firmly believe that the annual review book will be usefull to me as well as many other people.
I'm in Korea for a year right now for my children doing exactly what you plan to do :D I just threw the kids in school and a mere 3 months later, my 6 year old son is speaking in full sentences and my 8 year old daughter is dreaming in Korean ;) I love watching them soak up the experience and BE Korean. I homeschooled in the US and never had time for myself but now that they are in school 7 hours a day, I personally have time to catch up on all your content!!
