Another in a long line of excellent videos. I really enjoy your detailed explanations of how to do engine building. Thanks for doing this!
Detail-Detail applies every where , a lesson for ALL. Waddel Wilson approved !!!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, and answering email questions, no matter how easy for you
Yay 🎉 FE stuff !!! This one is going to be awesome....
Love the FE video💪, thank you!
Really enjoy watching your passion and detail of your work Brent, much respect from Australia.
Thanks.....Really like seeing this kind of stuff...Please keep it coming.
Jerry
Very nice Brent
That cube, comp, cam and head flow combo makes for something very eager to see run
...an idea for a future video. How about a full length video of this engine on the dyno. I think a lot of us would like to see what you go through to tune it
I can smell 😋 some Ford 🐎 power brewing 😂. 💪🏿
Another great video! Like always.. good job!!
That's going to be a real beast!!
Is that an aftermarket block with 352 cast into it?
I just noticed the webbing in the lifter valley & if that’s a factory block I’ve never seen one before.
Thanks for the video Brent.
Got a question..can I take a 97 460 and put an old school carb and intake and drop it in an 86 f.350...
Looking forward to seeing this beauty getting built out. With all the expected compression should the piston be proud out of the cylinder?
I recently purchased a new Honda Accord Hybrid. Enough said about that mistake other than, I’d love to have that motor instead!!!!!!!!
Looks like a Great Build. Big strong FE. Very nice. WOW! Thanks for showing us.
Hey Brent,
Tim here, so, you want no advance in the cam??....is that b'cuz rpm will be high??....my Poncho's dont like high rpm, unless HUGE $ is spent......i have a custom grind hangin out as well, no intake advance ground in.....i wanna advance it 2° to give me a 107° intake c/l, as i cant go past 6500......but is that the reason for no intake advance for you?? RPM is gonna be high (past 7500/8000)??....curious....BOY i love ur detail!!!....its why i sub'd in the first place......PEACE to you sir!!!, and TY!!
ICL has nothing to do with RPM!
@lykinsmotorsports
I'm pretty sure it does, if u have a factory cam, advance it 4° It will have more bottom, but will top out sooner, as valve events cant keep up....explain ur thoughts??.....i aint tryin to pin u down, just tryin to understand better
It’s a wives tale that advancing cam timing gives more low end and takes away top end, and retarding cam timing does vice versa. It depends on the combination. I’ve had combinations that made more hp 8 deg advanced. I can show you several examples of engines running at 98-100 deg ICL that do the best there. The only thing you can count on with moving the ICL is changing the cylinder pressure.
@@lykinsmotorsports so, i shud try my custom grind at its 109° ICL??....i'm conditioned for a Pontiac cam to be around a 106.....my guys at Kauffman Racing had this ground for me.....its a 109 LSA, and 109 ICL....i'm not used to that, THATS why i wanna learn more about where to put it.....most normal grinds have 4° ground into them, i called comp, and tech guy said no advance ground in custom grinds, allowing racer/builder to put it wherever he/she wants.....now i'm not sure what my best option is.....its a solid flat tappet.....i just dont wanna scream this motor....Pontiac 455 cranks dont like bein at 6500 alot....i have Eagle H-beam rods, but it scares me....TY VERY MUCH for takin the time to respond.....and yes, i'm aware of cyl pressure changes with ICL changes, but it sounds like i dont understand enuf to make a proper decision.....again TY for takin time outa ur day to help me...PEACE to you sir!!
I can't tell you where to put it because I don't know anything about your combination. You're conditioned for cams to be ground on a 106 ICL because everything most guys see is a universal shelf cam. Custom cams are ground per the engine build.
Pontiacs will turn as much rpm as you want. I've built several 7000-7500 rpm Pontiacs. The 3.250" main journal is no different.
