- 18 Idle Animations:
0:05 - 0:50 Basic Animations for child Link
0:50 - 1:35 Basic Animations for adult Link
1:35 - 2:01 Link wiping the sweat away
2:01 - 2:25 Link sneezing
2:25 - 2:52 Link patting Epona
2:52 - 3:11 Link yawning
This is just a video of all Idle Animations in Ocarina of Time I could find.
Of course, there may be some that I missed, but I searched and searched and couldn't find some other animations.
If you know some more, I'll update the video.
I thought about adding music in this video, but decided against it. If I would play it at the same volume as the sound effects, the sound effects would be too quiet. If I would play it at a lower volume, several watchers would turn up the volume considerably and we got another case of dead headphone-users. - Розваги
Link sneezes like a kitten.
It's cute
you'll regret this
you'll regret this
I dont know why people are saying "you'll regret this but"
You'll regret this
you'll regret this
You’ll regret this
My favorites were always when he sneezes and when he yawns. Too cute! x3
Ikr
Same
When he sneeze it’s super adorable ❤️
Link is a man child. I love how they kept them the same animations even as an adult link cause he really is still just a child even though he slept in time for 7 years. Nothing has changed. He must be protected at all costs.
Child links sneeze makes him look sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute.
Link sneezes like a kitten omg
The cold ones... My baby...

Gesundheit.
Link scheint ne Erkältung zu kriegen.
I never realized this until now, but sometimes when I'm just standing there or just bored, I tap my feet behind me twice, just like Link does!
And just like everyone else, my favorite idle animations were the yawning and sneezing ones. So cute!
I do the same!
twilight Link does that too.
I do it but against walls, steps and alike, not into the floor. The best way to quickly get rid of dust under boots that i know.
Fascinating. I too had never noticed several of these, like the sneezing. I really love the sword swings. It would be really neat if it did damage. Like, some stalchild is stalking towards you as you're standing still, then BAM he gets killed by an idle animation.
I was (trying to, I failed) replay the Ganondorf fight a month or two ago and Link did that idle animation while I was waiting. It three off my timing and I couldn't hit the energy ball.
lol
good thing for ISG i guess.
@@gregorymirabella1423 ISG?
@@AC-hh1vo infinite sword glitch.
OOT is filled with little touches here and there. Little things that are there but are also easy to miss. But these things make the game world more alive and mysterious. The idle animations is an example of how many little touches this game has. Unfortunately, more recent Zeldas lack this kind of detail and, of course, they only have like 1 or 2 standard idle animations. I guess nowdays they only have time for the 100% needed, obvious stuff...
Blowing my mind with these hot and cold area idle animations I had no idea existed!
2:06 Bliss you
irgendwerausbayern - someguyfrombavaria Hahahahhahaha true
I was waiting for someone to say that 😆
**beginning of yawning voice clip**
Young Link: Huah...
Adult Link: HNNGH

(also Adult Link sounds as if he has minor constipation)
Adult Link sneezing is my favorite one. You should do a ten hour version of that!
The sneezing is so adorable XD
Are you basically saying that you like your own sneeze?
New Hero of Hyrule
UH, NO!
Yes ;^;
It sure sounds like it, Link. You are the young version of him, after all.
New Hero of Hyrule Also I've just noticed that when Adult Link yawns he also makes a little squeak.
Link sneezing! I had never seen this!
My favorite animation is when Young Link yawns, I think it's very cute >:3
Ya :D
I’m late but I agree
It does, but it's actually the sneezing animation.
I guess that happens because the windmill area is linked (heh) to the Gravediggers Grave, which is an underground type.
You dumbass lol...
I love OOT
Young Link yawning is so adorable.
I got that Idle a few days ago (it melted my heart)
Proceeds to murder him in SSBU*
@@TheRealMink78 nooo hahahahaha
@@Judith_Vega he is adorable tho I have to admit but he looks kinda weird in SSBU
the sneezes tho!
2:02 the sneezes are so cute lmao
I never noticed his face when he's waving his shield lmao
I swear the animation for this game was fucking amazing. In fact, it's till impressive.
I'm guessing these are the areas where mo-cap was used? Be cool if they utilised that in newer Zelda titles as well.
2:06 My heart simping over cuteness
*Cuteness overload*
Cutest sneeze ever!
2:17 kawaiii~~ (/ * u * )/
Why is young link so adorable ❤️
I can't remember if this is one, but if your in the windmill hut, on the windmill while your spinning, then Link will clutch his stomach, feeling sick. But I'm not sure if that actually exists.
Nah he just sneezes
He shivers and sneezes because the windmill is connected to Dampé's tomb
He only sneezes
You're missing a few idle animations.
One in particular is an idle animation where he yawns, stretches differently than in the shown yawn and he even has what looks like a smile on his face.
What are you talking about? That doesn't happen in the N64 game. Maybe you meant in the 3DS remake.
@@LITTLE1994 yep
@@LITTLE1994 Yes it does, I’m playing it right now
Accoring to what I found, the amount of motion capture was rather small compared to the traditional, hand-made animation. If that's right, it is even more impressive, because it still looks good.
That was uncommon and a big deal in 1998. I always laugh when Link checks his sword or shield (if he don't have one, he uses his arm!).
His realistic reactions to the heat and cold or when he yawns are classics.
Edit: I forgot to mention, if Link wields the Deku Stick, Megaton Hammer or Biggoron's Sword, in most of the animations, he will hold them in ONE hand.
Yeah I wonder if they really used Real time body movements as they are so Smooth and natural !
@@mrandrossguy9871 Yes, they actually used motion capture to do all of Link's animations, believe it or not.
there’s a lot of stuff in this game that i could imagine was uncommon and a big deal in its time! the grass in the fishing pond actually bent when you walked over it or beside it and the lily pads moved out of your way (and remained like that for a little bit…) i’m sure there’s more, but i was a tad bit busy not existing in 1998 so I couldn’t really say…
There were two-hand weapon idle animations that were cut, Ship of Harkinian restores them.
Adult Link yawning is HILARIOUS
Now I learned first hand of these idle animations when I put Link on the windmill wheel after playing the Song of Storms. And I just assumed those "cold + sneeze" animations were him getting sick to his stomach and upchucking.
I was today years old when i found out he sneezes
2:01-2:25
Gesundheit.
How cute X3
I'm one of those who loves to sit and watch the idle animations of any game. I've studied all the idle animations in OOT, and thing always bugged me: What the hell is wrong with links eyes when he fidgets with his shield?
After all these years I don't think I'd ever seen any of the environment specific idles. Just goes to show that even your favorite games can surprise you decades later.
I think the looking at my shield idle animation is funny
FUCKING CUTEEEEEEE
2:05
he's such a cutie patootie
3:03 Me right now
Pretty awesome inspiration for making hand-made idles, thanks for posting :)
2:17 adult link dab
Sebster&Kris Playz Hahahahahhahahahaha lol
Stop breathing.
SuperMario444 Wow, triggered much?
Sebster&Kris Playz Yep.
I'm that offensive.
SuperMario444 lol
0:11 new stim unlocked!
0:10 0:52 jeez, how much mud does link have in those boots
i never noticed his facial expressions in the n64 version, or 3ds version! most of the time i am too busy looking around the room(s). also, fyi, i play the 3ds version
Same, we’re missing a Ton of Originality unfortunately
The first place you see is a room that is left out of the orginal game. It was shown in some beta video, I think. You can access it via the level select in the debug rom of OoT.
I also managed to get Child Link into that place via the level select. It's cool that the developers even thought of that, as there is one Gerudo standing saying that you have to go back.
Nice work, I like it . It's more good looking if animate in more smooth model version.
2:17
For some reason I noticed you're in one of the unused rooms.
I Love this it's awesome
Young Link's sweating animation is my favorite
I find it uncomfortable. XD
But that's because of the sound he makes when that idle animation happens. ;-;
So weird without the music O_o
Ah thanks, didn't notice it. Fixed.
My favorite is when kid link is sweating and he makes that noise and when he yawns so cute
I agree on the yawning one for sure, so cute! But the hot one (temperature-wise) makes me uncomfortable when I hear it. ; - ;
Ocarina Kitteh yeah I get ya
Ocarina Kitteh by the way you know what’s another awesome old school character like link Agent 47 from the hitman series amazing character
Thanks for understanding not every video needs BGM
The first ten animations (5 for child, 5 for adult Link) are common idle animations, that why I called them "basic animations" in the description.
Other animations can only be found by being at certain places (the annotiations down there say where you can get these animations), so I wouldn't say that they're as common.
No, not really. It pretty much just randomizes between these 5 animations and there's no animation that is used more often than others there. Recording this really wasn't that easy.
1:30
*Hun! Teak!*
I always wondered why he does that "cheep!" noise during his yawn at 2:56.
Does it as Adult too
I watched the entire thing :D
Zyre Marz same
So? It's not that long.
ha ha link don't have earrings
Strange, because in the official artworks, he does.
Are any of these particularly more common or less common than other? Because the "looking arround" one is almost always the one I get when I'm looking arround to see what to do next too, no matter what Zelda game am I playing.
So in 3ds Link Only yawns when his weapons are out ?
But still no shield check 😔
But, well, as I said, I get the "looking arround" one more often than the other 4, so between these 5, do you know if some is more common than others?
Does he have any different animations for when he has the Biggoron Sword or if he doesn’t have a shield?
Forgot the ones where link wipes off sweat in the hot areas.
knowing that the voice actor for child link is a woman, imagine hearing this out of context 1:35
what the hell are you standing on for it to be making that squishing noise
Man how long did it take to film this
This is great! Do you intend to do the same with Ocarina of Time 3D?
+KesorodaBlk Do you know, if all of these animations are included in the remake? Because I've seen all of them except the one with the shield...
***** I'm not sure.
+Phryzzle I have the 3ds version. They're all there :D
lightningdashthefox Oh, goody!
lightningdashthefox
Ok, thanks :)
(Then I have to be patient - go, Link!)
Zo Grappig
HAHAHA
Shouldn't #7 be shield instead of sword? (annotation)
Grade A Content
You forgot the idle animations he does when its too hot
1:35 - 2:01
So no Shield Shake check Animation and yawning in 3ds at least for Adult Link
😒
Though Z64 man the Body Animations must’ve been Recorded with Actual people, you know with the dot points on the joints
Ya missed one, or at least a variation: ua-cam.com/video/nJNzyaTtJq8/v-deo.html& Link smiling while yawning.
0:43 1:30
1:39 link moans
Not only there: also at 1:53
Is it true they didn’t add the Yawn in 3DS 🤨😩
They did, but it only happens when Link has his weapons out. (I think it also only works if Link is in a place where he feels the most comfortable, like Lon Lon Ranch? But I'm not exactly sure though.)
