I am not a voice expert, but there is something sublimely pure about her voice. It slowly but surely melts my heart , and by the end its it is highly emotional .
Appalachian lament, hundreds of years old, and a European youth, older than record of her birth, give the best recorded version...what would we be without music? live forever Yana...

I can't stop playing it over and over I am a 75 yrs old vet ,I want her to sing at my funeral ,,,I have searched for a equivalent rendition of this song ,and thier isn't one ,,,,my muder and farder,is the only a exhibition of a angel from heaven ,noting its not her native language just to me a 75 yr old limey ,,she is a gift from my creator,,my death song
Very respectful and professional judges. To top it off, they are properly dressed...no ridiculous outfits, no goofy looking glasses and hats, and no strange jewelry.
Beautiful old folk and gospel song and the perfect voice for this song. Beautifully sung by an adorable young lady. I wish it was the full version. Very well done.
I think most of us got to know it through the belgian movie "broken circle breakdown" where it is heavily featured and that scene will break your heart. Such a beautiful movie and american bluegrass is by far the biggest star of the movie
@@apollo-eu4fk No one knows? The melody was composed by Johann Georg Ebeling and lyrics written by Paul Gerhardt in 1666 in Germany as "Ich bin ein Gast auf Erden".
@@operator0 None of you folks is right. The best version of this song was recorded by Emmylou Harris. It is an Appalachian Mountain folk song and is best sung with an American accent. Though this version was good, it is not even in the ballpark with Emmylou. ua-cam.com/video/lqHp5CDl4yQ/v-deo.html
It’s hard to rank her against all the legends but there’s something about her voice and accent and the rendition just fits beautifully. If I hear another artist I usually go back to her after. Great voice
Amazing , AS A AMERICAN AND HAVE LISTEN TO JOHNNY CASH ALL MY LIFE YANA SINGS IT BEAUTIFULLY. I LOVE HER VOICE I MUST HAVE LISTEN TO THIS HUNDRED TIMES TODAY.
Just found it, never knew that song, so I searched for different artists singing it and THAT is the best of the best performance of all. With the perfect pitch and those long sung words, I can listen to it again and again. I hope Yana you make a singer carrier, keeping fingers crossed for you.
USA voice has studio versions (whole song, no coach/audience voices) of all Blind Auditions that had any chairs turn. wtf don’t other goofy countries do that?!
Quite a few years have passed since we last heard this 100-plus-year-old American gospel/folk song performed. It is a privilege to witness your very fine rendition, Yana. We do thank you most sincerely.

I have heard this song sung by many artist over many many years in my life time, but no one has ever done it justice till i heard Yana sing it. She nailed this song like no other. Yana, you have an amazing voice. Wishing you much success
This is actually how it's supposed to sound. I'm from Eastern Kentucky and this is a really really old bluegrass song that Johnny Cash made famous but it's one of the oldest known bluegrass songs. This is how we sing it. I've heard a lot of versions and it breaks my heart when people take the bluegrass twang out of it. It was great to hear it sung with some soul to it again. Made me a little homesick hearing it
I'm a huge fan of this classical bluegrass / country song. The interpretation is really superb, the voice well composed and the rhythm of the ballad is well felt. We feel a little deconcentration at the end.
Its December 16, 2019 and I've listened to this over and over again. I've always listened to Johnny Cash, if ur interested in the whole song. The Voice Vlaanderen; Thank You for showing the ENTIRE segment up to and including Coach's comments and her choice. Don't understand a damn bit of it, but loved it just the same.
Stephen Barrett The first male judge wanted Yan to know that he was the first one to press the button and that he was blown away by her voice. He knew Johnny Cash's version - country classic - as a wandering wanderer and didn't think that she was one. Yet she made him believe so. In conclusion, she had stolen his heart. The second male judge said that he was the second one to push his button. He agreed with the first male judge. The buttons caused an 'explosion' in the studio, but he was surprised that the noises didn't affect Yana's performance and how well put she was in her own world which he wanted to be part of. He assured her that they, together, could make beautiful things happen. Female judge said that Yana started with an angelic voice and later had transformed into a little goddess. It was definitely worth to wait (before pushing the button). She looked forward to add her to her team. Finally, the last judge said that he was the last one to turn (Yana was stunned as she didn't know) and he joked that he, therefore, could enjoy her performance the longest. He was mesmerized by the way she alternated the most astonishing notes with others. Definitely worth to push his button.
