Until you've experienced PTSD, don't judge. Ten years ago, I experienced a terrific trauma and after 7 years of talking with different doctors and having antidepressants adjusted, I found out about EMDR. It was life changing!!! I still use it to this day to deal with difficult experiences. My severe depression is still difficult to manage but, using EMDR helps. Mental health is no joke. After the pandemic and shelter in place, I know more people suffer from depression. Most don't know how to identify it so, don't get the help that is needed.
I am thankful Prince Harry and Prince William have openly discussed their experiences with the world. It makes it more real when people in the public eye disclose their struggles.

I have always suspected that the control that both boys showed, or had to show, at their mothers' funeral would come back one day to haunt them. At their age, I would have been an unconsoleable puddle of tears on the floor for days, weeks even and that would have been healthy for my long-term mental and emotional well-being. Now we're seeing that pent-up emotion tearing the Royal family apart. If you leave this sort of thing undealt with for long enough all your going to be able to do is pick up the pieces. Which is what we're witnessing.

    • @leahmountainview4312

For sure. The boy Princes were made to walk behind their mother's coffin. They were asked and both said 'no, absolutely not'. But as is the way with Royalty here they were told that they had to. Talk about a walk creating chronic disassociation in front of literally the world. I can't imagine how that hurt them both at the time and since.

According to his book Spare, Harry couldn't even cry about his mom until he was about 30 except for a small moment of crying after the funeral. He couldn't process, couldn't grieve, couldn't focus at school, and while the military gave him focus, he developed PTSD and anxiety from it all. I'm very glad for him that he escaped that emotionally atrophied environment.

Thank you for sharing this. I feel you, on that. After my daddy died, everything from my whole life all came up & my body started falling apart. It's been 2 years of hell & I finally got coverage for EMDR & Somatic Experiencing. I'm still in the beginning stages, but already I'm processing so much & noticing health shifts. Big hugs to you in your journey! I empathize.

      @BeaLucile Рік тому +1

@alexanderpriv I was getting repeat UTI's out of nowhere, my iron levels dropped dangerously low, I couldn't get to sleep or stay asleep, I got random fevers for no reason, I was tired all the time, my appetite would either be gone or else I'd be eating a ton of junk food, I started having menopausal symptoms 15yrs too early, my mental health issues intensified by 100x, I started getting intestinal issues I never had before, got a lot of headaches, skin irritation & breakouts, was losing tons of hair in the shower....I could go on & on....seriously, just mentally & emotionally, I was falling apart. I'm usually a very healthy person who lives a healthy lifestyle, so the past 2 years have been traumatic.
I've been doing EMDR & somatic experiencing (Dr. Peter Levine's model) for maybe 2 months now & already, I'd say all my symptoms & issues have decreased by half - some things are completely gone. It got worse before it got better, for me, so just know that's possible. Healing can be messy. But if your EMDR therapist teaches you about polyvagal theory & developing regulation skills & such FIRST, then that helps a lot in the messy stages.

I've done EMDR for awhile now and its very helpful. My counselor explained that when trauma happens it can be too painful for the brain to process it. The left side of the brain releases trauma. Sometimes that trauma gets "stuck" in the right side. The tapping moves the trauma or addiction out of the right side to the left side where it's released. When tapping you run the disturbing thoughts over and over until you can feel the trauma lessening. I thoroughly recommend this! Also the eye movements are side to side too just like tapping...

At least give it 15 to 20 minutes each tapping session. Start your tapping with the memory of the trauma. Tap it down and keep running your memory over and over in your mind. Evaluate how you feel and the stress number should start to come down. You can do this a couple times a day just whenever you can give time to it.

Harry reminds me of many men I know. They deal with trauma by speaking constantly about their trauma and venting. Harry is speaking his truth because he wants Charles to acknowledge the hurt and deal with the brokenness. Charles needs to forego protocol and those courtiers (grown people, whose sole purpose in life is to be in other families' business)and go to his son and heal that relationship. Harry wants Charles's attention. Charles needs to make it right, because at the end of his life, protocol, the crown, the country, won't mean anything, he's going to want his son and his grandchildren to love. Forget tradition and protocol, England has a symbolic monarchy, so why the big fuss over the dynamics of the royal family.

Yes he was very genuine I watched the beginning of first episode. I relate a bit as I was also followed by ‘paparazzi’ in high school by guys who like me and tons of gossip around me everyday for seven years. I also develop anxiety and SWEATING. I legit wanna cry right now.
Now no guys are interested in me and I felt finally free and happier than ever before.
My healing starts from learning about psychology from watching Dr Grande UA-cam videos on Narcissism. I discovered the guy who talked about me for 1.5 years despite me cutting contact with him whenever I can, was a narcissist. I finally stop blaming myself. I also started processing these trauma by typing comments in the Dr Grande videos, and felt we are together in this as many people share their experiences. Talking about it helps bring from unconscious to conscious and contribute healing.
Though I am not sure the impact of RF when he speaks PUBLICLY, I support him speaking about it. And he has counsellor too! I didn’t have. (But probably under fake names and accounts if he still want RFs financial support)

I first learned about EMDR & tapping when I was getting my master's in psychology 20 years ago. It was, and remains, one of the most effective types of therapy for trauma. I've personally witnesses anxious soldiers visibly relax just by tapping the inside of their collar bones with the opposite 2nd & 3rd fingers while doing talk therapy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND EMDR, tapping, and A.R.T. (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)!

What about his family’s mental health and the anguish and trauma he’s causing them by attacking them in the public domain. He’s denying them the privacy (and healing from a recent loss) that he demands for himself!
I’m sorry but Harry is not the poster boy for mental health - quite the opposite in fact. If Harry’s therapy leaves him behaving like a perpetual victim, angrily attacking his family with a narrative that he contradicts, arrogantly snorting at the US constitution which he claims to not understand, becoming a carbon copy of his woke wife, and not accepting accountability for his feelings and actions today... and monetising his woes and his late mother.
Then I’ll absolutely pass on any therapy that Harry might endorse thanks! It would scare the living daylights out of me to end up like him!
Also to add, no it’s not brave to go before the world and open up. Perhaps 20 years ago, but now since the age of celebrity TV and social media, everyone is doing it, especially the elites, most of whom have no idea how the commoner suffers and try to say they’re one of us. It’s insulting... they live off our attention. They’re like barnacles.
This EMDR might be effective, but it’s promoted by the wrong people ... this Harry episode is just another advertising push for his mental health bandwagon and ‘Betterup’. Let’s see how their business increases now and profits from the vulnerable.
NB. I’m just a supporter of the underdog who doesn’t like to see these self-absorbed, money-making elites manipulate the public for their own self-promotion. We’re appealing to vulnerable people here, and Oprah and her cronies are not qualified.

That's not even my biggest flex. My first fiance proposed after a month. My husband proposed Four months after I ended the old engagement. Long story short I had women who wanted to discredit my advice, And who also were extremely jealous of me.
I used to be very open on my old channel about mental health, And my suicide attempt that left me hospitalized.
Please tell me why these jealous b****** decided to mock me being sexually assaulted, and also call me "Zoloft" to make fun of me being on anti depressants. One of them said that they hope I die and kill myself.

Seems like a self- indulgent, entitled goof to me. I feel bad for his family. You know they just lost Prince Phillip. They deserved a little time to mourn. This POS went straight back and started his bs again. People like you just lap it up. No critical thinking skills at all. He and Oprah making a lot of money on this BS. People love their trauma and being victims. Oprah made an entire career of exploiting that fact.

@MsWhoEverWhatEver Thanks for being a voice of reason! Harry has said, many times he put on a jacket & tie, memories of his mum funeral procession engulfed him since he was 12 years old. He would look in the mirror and say "Game on" like instructed! It was all about masking his pain in public!

I, too, have found EMDR helpful in dealing with past traumas and stressful situations. Bravo to Prince Harry for sharing his path to healing and for normalizing therapy. (BTW I really think EMDR needs a new abbreviation since most patients are using tapping or bilateral sounds and not the eye movements.)
